Weighed myself in the gym. I'm 67kg so down from 69kg 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to keep my diary light so I'm not tempted to eat and drink lots! Walked 12000 steps on Saturday and back to gym today. 10 mins on treadmill and 30 mins lbt.

This is very impressive progress! Very well done.

I have no idea! I’m never sure what to make of weight. My friend is the same height as me, much slimmer and yet heavier (but more toned too so will have more muscle than me.) I have concluded it’s best to judge by how my clothes fit which is currently not well! I went for a run this morning and my sports bra is creating the four boob effect which is not the look I’m going for! 😂

I'm struggling to get into a 10 which isn't good. I am quite muscular though as I do alot of gym work.

@OiGetOff oh you poor thing too. Loosing an appetite isn't nice 😞

Here's to a better week! I'm currently trying a fodmap diet after the GP suggested it but it's bloody boring!!!

Loveriver · 10/06/2024 16:02

Yeah losing appetite isn't nice but it does help you lose weight lol. How long until everyone's holidays ?

OP posts:
Loveriver · 10/06/2024 17:47

I've got 5 weeks to shift a bit more. Hoping for 10 pounds ?

I’ve had a good day on plan today. I haven’t had dinner yet but I’ve tracked it all, I’ll end the day on 1050 cals and 34g carbs which is very good for me. I did day 27 of Caroline Girvan and walked the doggie and I will take her out this evening if dh is home at a decent time.

I do enjoy low carbing, I feel like my brain fully switches on and I feel really sharp. It’s not always great for my sleep though, does anyone find that?

it’s my office day tomorrow which is always a very long day. I will take my lunch but it’s tricky if there are biscuits or cakes around, that mid afternoon slump always gets me. But I am feeling quite motivated so hopefully will get through it. I never drink enough water so I’ll take a litre bottle to chug through!

Savethedramaforyourmama · 10/06/2024 18:05

Weighed this morning and another 1 lb off so 10 stone dead on… was hoping for 9. 13 but it wasn’t to be! Have got a challenging week this week with a couple of nights out so have to try to be good the rest of the time… we’ll see.
Well done to everyone on the losses

Loveriver · 10/06/2024 19:29

I've just eaten a load of toberlone

Just over 4 weeks till my holiday. I’m obviously hoping the world stops falling out of my arse way before then, but I’ll take the positives!

I seem to remember some mad diet fad in the nineties to take laxatives. Noooo thanks.

braveandwellbehaved · 11/06/2024 16:52

Maintaining at 9st 12 ish. Pretty happy just to still be in the 9 st bracket.
About 3.5 weeks until my first wee trip (mainly to see family up in Scotland from Northern England) so no bikinis ha! But my husband's aunt is always slim and always into looks and I just like to look good when she's around. probably not a good reason but there you go, it's motivating me!

Can I just say I really appreciate this thread- you're all amazing and I really have gotten so much support from coming on here, it's a real game changer.
Thanks everyone and congrats all on your losses!

@thenewaveragebear1983 hope you feel better - sounds like you've got a good plan in motion. Lunches sound delicious - I do think if you can find healthy stuff that brings you joy that's key... despite the price tag! plus if it stops you buying a coffee and a pastry in the afternoon then you're saving! I find n-carbs very very tough but low carb (and no processed sugar) makes me lose quickly and gives me a lot of energy especially if I'm keeping my protein up!

@wineandsunshine Wow incredible loss congrats

@OiGetOff I mean - a loss is a loss that's cool. but do hope you feel ok? Do you think it's a bug or something? are you an Aussie? My husband is Aussie and loves his Vegemite :)

@Careerdecisions cheers to the plateau'd among us, hoping to start shifting it soon.

@Savethedramaforyourmama aaah you're on the cusp! Congrats!

@Loveriver Hope you're alright sounds like you're having a bit of a rough time of it like I've been. Sometimes I feel like maybe I'm restricting too much for too long and I need a big bowl of spaghetti bolognaise or something that's really going o satisfy and nourish me and then get back on it the next day (instead of restricting and then picking at stuff). Otherwise going and doing some fun stuff like having a brew with friends or taking myself to a movie kinds of sets me back on track. I think I might actually do that tonight as I'm in a bit of a lull myself and have eaten toast all day today.

Thanks @braveandwellbehaved, no I feel bloody awful! Bit worrying perhaps that I’m thinking “yeah but you’ve got rid of that bloat & fit into your favourite shorts” as an upside. When I should just be solely focused on feeling better. But, yeah much of the hard work has been done for me in a rather toilet-based way, whether I liked it or not!

Not an Aussie, just saw it on offer in Tesco next to my usual marmite. Just as nice.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/06/2024 19:22

I had quite a lot of calories today. My meals were all great but I hit home super hungry and stupidly just raided the snacks while my dinner was cooking. Ending up on 1800 cals which while it isn’t ideal, is still under my tdee so I’m ok with that. Tuesday is my office day and I always get home frazzled and dehydrated. I’ve tried so many strategies to avoid the self sabotage but I do seem to do this most weeks 🤦‍♀️ I took the dog for an hours walk though after dinner. Back on task tomorrow!

braveandwellbehaved · 13/06/2024 08:33

@thenewaveragebear1983 I am like that too- I think I soothe after the stress of office / meetings/ socialising with people I don't know/like much with food.

I've been trying to combat it and find something that works. I have a really nice decaf coffee and I make one with milk to go before I leave the office to pick up the kids. Sometimes I have a little protein bar or banana with it if I'm ravenous. That really helps the frenzied hunger at home enough to make the dinner and choose something healthy to pick at. another way I've battled this is have something made before you get home like a big chunky veggie soup you can make the night before and it can sit on the stove for the next eve?

Loveriver · 13/06/2024 13:41

How are our ladies who were ill?
I'm down to 65kg from 69kg

braveandwellbehaved · 14/06/2024 20:44

@Loveriver congrats!

9st 11 for now but had a bit of a foodie day and I'm too exhausted to work out. Heading to bed early and hoping for an active weekend with my girls.

sweet dreams all!

Careerdecisions · 17/06/2024 13:11

Well hurrah, my scales are not broken after all. Finally a wee loss, down to 57.4kg this morning from 57.8kg last week. On holiday two weeks today, lots more to do! Trying to get better with food choices and now up to 25 minutes continuous running which must be helping too I hope. How is everyone else getting on?

Loveriver · 17/06/2024 13:22

Yay! Well done. I ate alot this weekend but also did a lot of walking and gym. I'm not weighing until end of the week!

OP posts:
Loveriver · 17/06/2024 15:58

I caved and weighed in. I'm 67kg. Surely I've not gained 2kg in 3 days ?

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/06/2024 17:40

I’ve hidden my scales @Loveriver , I can’t take the constant fluctuations! The last few days I’ve been a lot more ‘intuitive’ with my food I guess. I’ve had what I want, but just been careful, not overeaten, not been too hard on myself. I did eat and drink at the weekend but I’m determined to try to get out of this mentality that I need to punish myself for food. It’s miserable.
I have felt ok but I realise how much I rely on the scales because I get little urges to weigh myself 🤷‍♀️

Loveriver · 17/06/2024 19:34

I just don't understand how my weight has increased in 3 days !!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/06/2024 19:52

@Loveriver it must be water retention. Have you eaten salty food yesterday?

Loveriver · 17/06/2024 20:42

I had a thai meal and a chocolate cake lol

OP posts:
Loveriver · 17/06/2024 20:44

I'm gonna keep plodding on. 4 weeks to my holiday and I want to be under 10 stone! It's so hard when I've got socialising to do. Also have a 6 foot skinny husband.

OP posts:
wineandsunshine · 17/06/2024 20:55

I'm back up to 71.8kg after being poorly last week.

I'm actually not even trying to diet at the moment - just enjoying food without being in pain 😊 I will try and cut the sugar a bit...

braveandwellbehaved · 18/06/2024 08:17

@thenewaveragebear1983 @Loveriver Argh fluctuations can be killer. I have to mentally prepare to avoid disssapointment when I step on the scale. The constant socialising is killer- argh the wine, the snacks! But it's June and so hard to resist (I say that in December to ha so probably nothing to do with it being June). I hope you guys are coping alright mentally. I really bugged myself out this weekend overthinking and just hating what I was eating and not even enjoying it. in a state of pretty heightened anxiety at the moment.

9 st 12 today - I have gone up to 9 st 13 but was strict again yesterday as I REFUSE to go back up a stone bracket. I've felt so much better about myself. I'm aware I'm a bit hormonal at the moment and I feel very bloated today. Hoping that if I keep strict through this phase that I will see results the other side of it? Here's hoping.

Holiday is 3.5 weeks away. Would it be amazing to be 9 st 6 then- YES... but.... it's probably unlikely. I could be happy with 9 st 9 so that's my next goal.

My general rule is eat to a calorie deficit, doesn't matter how much as I can't stand the obsessive counting of calories (this is personal, it just makes me crazy), and moving as much as possible. Yesterday I had a coffee, a biscuit and some roasted chicken and fruit for lunch, a huge salad and a couple chicken nuggets cut up on top of it (kid leftovers) for dinner, and a big coffee.

Come on guys we can do this!
