Hello, please can I join you?

I am 5'4 and 66kg... Aiming to get back to 60kg as my clothes are feeling tighter than I'd like and I refuse to buy bigger ones. I also need new jeans so I'm not investing until my arse is a bit smaller 😅

I am doing Caroline Girvan as well, I'm on week 5 of iron, and also week 5 of c25k following a knee injury. It's my diet that's the problem. I need to cut the sugar and the absent minded snacking.

braveandwellbehaved · 03/06/2024 07:16

Hi all! Oh my word the weather here (North Yorkshire) has been such a relief after so much rain!!

@Loveriver I think Cornetto sounded necessary for sure! Hope you're feeling better today. The only thing that's properly changed the shape and size of my size other than weight loss has been weigh lifting. I've done a simple planner past year and I dropped maybe 2 inches on top of my thighs which made a huge difference to how trousers hit etc. I just did a very simple plan, three times a week.

I've fallen off the workout/runing wagon and really want to get back on it this week actually. I did that 'Iron Series' Caroline Girvan and it was super intense - will try to keep going with that as a bit of a change!

However today I weighed in at 9 st 13!!! Quite shocked as period due possibly even today. still expecting fluctuation and don't want to get too disappointed by it. but it's a big moment tbh.

plan today is drink lots of water and walk or run depending on how I'm feeling

Savethedramaforyourmama · 03/06/2024 09:40

@braveandwellbehaved that’s great! Can’t wait to see that 9 appearing again for me.
1 lb off this morning which is better than nothing I suppose! Did two 30 min spin workouts but no Pilates/strength training so going to try and up that this week. Also chocolate fell into my mouth more than I would have liked 🤦🏻‍♀️
Onwards and downwards hopefully!

Careerdecisions · 03/06/2024 10:48

Checking in at 57.8kg today which is 0.5kg less than last week, being a shorty I really need to get down to 53kg to get back into my Summer clothes comfortably. I went a bit rogue at the weekend, ended up in the Curry House on Friday night and had a barbecue on Saturday but was more sensible on Sunday and managed a workout. I’ve done a 20 minute run this morning as part of C25K.

It now looks like we’ll be going on holiday in 4 weeks so I must really try to see how far I can get on my mission until then to avoid hitting the shops.

Loveriver · 04/06/2024 10:41

68.7 to 66.9 kg in 10 or so days. It's the equivalent to 4 lbs! I'm still rough though. How is everyone ?

Anyone else weighed in ? Not sure how I've done this week. No exercises due to weird virus think it's covid !

Im still at 9 st 13! I’ve had a few days where I’ve been eating more tbh. Lots of outings and friends over etc. but I’m sticking in the 9 st and I’m so great full although scared it’s not real or that the scale is broken 😂 that being said- my clothes fit much nicer and all the slightly too tight things are fitting much better. I’m also getting a lot of compliments from my husband many on my face! Must have come off there a bit . He doesn’t say ‘your face is so thin’ or anything I don’t think he’s really seen that I’ve lost weight as it’s not that obvious but just those little compliments are really making me feel so great.

6 weeks to go until we go away. I weighed myself for the first time in a loooong time 2 days ago and I was 11’7. I’m 5’4” so that puts me firmly in the overweight zone - no surprises there - but I was shocked that for my height a healthy BMI could be as low as 7’10!!

Anyway, I certainly won’t be troubling the scales with a number beginning with 7, or 8 or probably even 9, but if I could get to 10 stone in the next few months I’d be happy. If I could get to 10’ 6 before we go away I would certainly be a lot more comfortable in my clothes.

Im doing intermittent fasting and trying to increase my step count. I’ve tried hitting the gym / pounding the streets previously and it just doesn’t work for me, particularly if I’m fasting. So, being more active, and reducing my eating window is my approach. Just about to take myself off to the library to get a book about intermittent fasting as I’ve been telling myself wine doesn’t really count and deep down I know that’s a lie 🤣

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/06/2024 07:38

Morning. I weighed in this morning and I have lost 3.5lbs this week! Very pleased with that, although i had had a big gain the week before as we were away. Still, I’m going to take that!

current weight is 151lbs
We go away in 6.5 weeks so a pound a week until then would be lovely.

I’ve been trying to do fast800 this week but it’s just way way too low calories for me. I have ended up hungry and snacking on stuff. This week I’m just going to adopt those principles but stick to 1400-1500 as it’s much more manageable and I can exercise without feeling like I’m running on fumes.

this morning I’m going to run, I want to do a fairly long one. Then will walk the dog. I have a lot of household jobs and housework to do, I did the downstairs yesterday and it’s time for the upstairs today. Then we are out this evening but I’m not going to drink, I just feel so much better when I don’t drink.

Loveriver · 08/06/2024 07:51

Well done. I feel better when I dont drink too! I'm down from 151lbs to 147lbs in 10 days. I've been quite ill though so no exercise. I find just reducing alcohol and sugar better than drastically reducing calories.

@Yourfutureselfwillthankyou welcome!!! I think walking and being in a calorie deficit is the most effective way of losing substantial weight because it’s way easier to stay consistent than a strict gym programme! I got really into audiobooks and have been bingeing book series whilst I get my step count up and it’s really helped- I get excited to get out there! Great to have you on board!!

@thenewaveragebear1983 omg congrats on your loss that’s incredible! Well done you, going for a more sustainable approach! I did the fast 800 a few years ago and it was so depressing and I barely lost any weight and just was obsessed with food the whole time and just sooo restrictive and miserable. I also weighed in at barely -4lbs after a whole month, I was so annoyed haha!

@thenewaveragebear1983 @Loveriver i went out to a work so last night and drank quite a lot and now have terrible hangxiety. I don’t think I did anything particularly embarrassing I just feel crap and no energy today and craving junk. So I’ve decided to go without alcohol until end of June I think as this last week has been very drink-y and yeah I just don’t feel great.

braveandwellbehaved · 08/06/2024 10:54

Forgot to post- weighed in at 9 at 12 to is AM but I’m very dehydrated from a day of heavy drinking yesterday and some the day before.

I weighed myself today and I'm back to 69kg! I had eaten and had clothes on though! I honestly should weigh less! I'm coming off anti depressants so going to see if that helps

braveandwellbehaved · 09/06/2024 17:52

@Loveriver how annoying but maybe try again tomorrow morning without the clothes and after the morning wee haha keep at it because I think not letting that kind of thing push you off the rails (despite how fustrating it is trust me I know) - is the way to keep going downward despite inevitable fluctuations and blips. Ive had a lot of fish and chips today. Back on track tomorrow!!!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 09/06/2024 18:21

@Loveriver thats a shame, could it be water retention though? Plus your food and clothes will add a pound or 2?

last night we went out and I had 2 horrible glasses of cheap wine then we ordered pizzas- middle of the night I was up throwing up 🤮 felt rough today but not hungover which is a positive. Went to the supermarket and stocked up on some really nice bits. Lunches are my downfall so I bought precooked chicken and tapas bits- it’s expensive but it’s all bloody expensive so I thought I might as well get nice stuff. So lunches are a bit varied this week.

My plan this week is to up the protein, drop the carbs, eat more veg, try not to overeat in the afternoons, lots of water. And NO alcohol. I want to get a few workouts in this week, I have 4 left on my current series of Caroline Girvan so I want to finish that this week, plus a couple of runs.

i’ll weigh in tomorrow.

Loveriver · 09/06/2024 19:33

I've not been there gym for 12 days due to illness so back tomorrow. Hopefully I'll lose a bit more this week. I used to drop weight so easily.

OP posts:
wineandsunshine · 10/06/2024 07:52

I've lost quite a bit from being poorly last week. 73.1kg down to 70.3kg 😳

Totally lost my appetite and had bad tummy pain so the weight has dropped off.

OiGetOff · 10/06/2024 09:57

I’m about the same @wineandsunshine

I’ve felt really dodgy over the last week or so, more bathroom trips than I’d care to share. Absolutely no appetite, one day I only ate an apple & don’t think I even finished that. Yesterday I had a mug of Vegemite in hot water, plus more water & nothing else.

Gone from 9st 9lbs on 31 May, to 9st today. Not a healthy weight loss at all, I know. My priority now is trying to feel better.

I can however get into my favourite shorts again 😬 (yes I know that’s not important here).

57kg is amazing! I can only dream! How tall are you ?

I’m 5’3” but a small frame and light bones so despite my weight still being in the healthy zone I’m much better at 53kg without flesh oozing out on either side of any elastic in my clothes!

Careerdecisions · 10/06/2024 11:16

Checking in today, still at the same 57.8kg as last week. I’ve succumbed to eating out twice in the last week which is not helping but on the plus side I’ve upped my exercise so whilst still flabby I’m at least fitter and flabby. 😁

I'm 5 foot 3 and 67kg hahaha. I'm still a size 10 though ! Does that mean I'm a big or small frame ?

Weighed myself in the gym. I'm 67kg so down from 69kg 2 weeks ago. I'm trying to keep my diary light so I'm not tempted to eat and drink lots! Walked 12000 steps on Saturday and back to gym today. 10 mins on treadmill and 30 mins lbt.

I have no idea! I’m never sure what to make of weight. My friend is the same height as me, much slimmer and yet heavier (but more toned too so will have more muscle than me.) I have concluded it’s best to judge by how my clothes fit which is currently not well! I went for a run this morning and my sports bra is creating the four boob effect which is not the look I’m going for! 😂
