Started on wegovy and already amazed.

Hey all, I started wegovy 0.25 last week and I've already lost 3.6lbs since Thursday, that's after a year of nothing. I was losing weight a few years ago, I was 280 lbs and dropped to 200 but since I hit that number I couldn't lose anymore, I tried different diets etc but it just wouldn't budge :S for about 16 months I've been trying but lowest I got to was 198lbs(atleast I never gained a lb back haha.)

Well today I hit 193 lbs after being on wegovy for a week!! 😁 I was sceptical as honestly I didn't want to spend £170 a month but it's so worth it if it's actually going to help get this weight off.

I'll keep updated with how it goes from here.

I also wasn't expecting any weight loss until next month or the month after so I really am shocked.

That's a positive start and you did great by yourself. Are you also addressing the reasons you became overweight?

Honestly the reason I became overweight was because I was depressed and lazy. At the time I was going through some major issues including loss, losing a dream, unwanted pregnancy, sickness etc. my diet was dominoes pizza every day and an addiction to sugary drinks. I never like binge ate or anything but everytime I ate, I ate very high calorie things. Takeaways etc.

Now my diet mostly consists of chicken, beans and lentils.

@tryingtohelp82 honestly I don't know, I never really had an appetite to begin with I would just snack out of boredom mostly or because something tastes good. Now it's like ... Food isn't where my thoughts go to. I definitely haven't snacked as much and my meals are smaller for sure like yesterday I had 2 chicken wings and a small mexican bean salad for dinner

Update, lost another 3 lbs which is now 7lbs total this week so far :O not been hungry at all or snacking

So eating a healthy diet and doing lots of exercise made no difference? How come? Have you been checked out medically?

Well done, its hard work no matter what tool you use, weight loss medications (when they suit the patient) are really positive and you'll be feeling the physical and emotional health benefits already which is really motivating

Piece of advice, try not to buy new clothes just yet, you'll slim out of them and have wasted your money, wait until you're much smaller.

Thanks everyone :D definitely expecting sarky comments, @Watchkeys Honestly no, but i think it came more from being hungry when eating healthy and not knowing how to count calories properly when doing family meals, now i dont have to i just eat when im hungry but i dont have those random hunger pains throughout the day.

@Sunflower8848 I would be worried too but my auntie is dying from cancer at the moment after having had it 3 times previously and she has lived her life SO healthily, no medications, no bad food or chemicals. So i got to live my life, Its a risk of cancer or a risk of obesity related illnesses for me, unfortunately my obesity has already ruined some of my bones etc

For anyone wanting to know my previous usual calorie intake a day was 1400 sometimes 1200.

My aim is to use this til i get to goal weight and use a nutritionist to get a clear understanding of portions and calories etc

@PurpleTrees123 Thank you, yeah I wish i had started sooner but I had my doubts :D even if I can just get half of my goal done id be happy as that's a whole size or two smaller and would help a lot Haha

That's a great plan. I always think more should be taught in schools about nutrition. Instead of this is bad, that is bad, don't eat this, don't eat that it would be more beneficial to show what a healthy meal and portion looks like across a broad range of food. I'll never forget measuring a portion of chips in lockdown. The big and fluffy frozen Waitrose ones. A portion was 4 or 6 chips depending on the size of them! Previously I'd have had 4 times that. So easy to do.
We need to focus on food in a positive way instead of demonising it. I make sure my children never hear from me that certain foods are bad or naughty. We talk about health and balance and giving our bodies what we need. Nothing is off limits.

@HoldMyHalo completely agree, I love iced coffees but get an iced coffee from a cafe and i could be looking at 300-500 calories!!! I couldn't believe it, that's a whole meals worth in just a drink

Ideally, I would be able to access something that cut off the chatter when I could feel a binge starting. Itter experience has taught me that a gain of three pounds kicks the binge into action. Rest of the time I can plod along losing a pound a week by not eating crap. As I weigh twice what I should, being a healthy weight is simply impossible within any reasonable timeframe.

Boots, Asda, Lloyds Pharmacy online doctor and Superdrug pharmacies spring to mind. You can order online and can then go collect in some instances on passing the medical questionnaire.

Check their address to make sure they are in the UK.

You look for the online chemist details displayed on the website - you can then search the register for peace of mind.

Only buy from names that are known out there / have reviews and if something is to good to be true, it probably is.

Do not buy from individuals or from any old body off f---book under seemingly good offer for something that is kind of hard to obtain. That's black market territory.

The pens have to be kept cold right up to the point they reach you and should be in good date. It shouldn't be given to you on a low bmi and the pharmacies give you the option to have your GP notified - which I recommend. You may need to purchase in addition a sharps box. When full you just request with your local council to take away for disposal.

@EmotionalOverEater I get that, the worse for me would be once i made one mistake i would feel like it was all for nothing and that i may as well just let myself do whatever i want.

@tryingtohelp82 Yeah the side effects worried me too, i haven't had any YET So will see how i get on but to be honest, my bodies already feeling So tired and drained and weak that i feel i need to do this and then once its done i can work on my health and getting fitter and toned.

Im pretty much sticking to nothing but Protein. protein shakes, protein coffee, chicken and thats it because anything else is a waste of calories when i can only eat so little.
Today i had Chicken for lunch and i shall have 2 protein shakes for dinner / evening snack
