Starting 2024 at my heaviest ever weight after being pregnant 3 times in 4 years. Don’t actually know how much I weigh as my scales are broken (not from me standing on them), but I know I’m the biggest I’ve ever been. I need people to know I HAVE to lose weight, for my health and my sanity. So I’m gonna start here, with strangers on the internet. So if I keep eating crap and not an exercising, I’ll have to admit it here and shame myself.
I have lost a lot weight in the past before I had kids so I had time to make it my sole focus, not so simple this time around.
Will sort my scales out and find out my starting weight.
Please join in if you also need a good kick up the arse and we can all muck in together.

I’ve done well this week- exercise every day and healthy eating. I have resisted weighing myself so far. I really hope the scales can tell me something good in the morning!

I've had a terrible (great fun) week. Three days in Derry ended up being a bit of forget you're on a diet. Back to it now, but have to find some way of not succumbing to eating/drinking out when travelling. Must try harder. Fully expect to gain weight when weigh tomorrow

I feel like I’ve lost weight, like when I touch my body it doesn’t feel as fatty. But I really need to see the number on the scale going down otherwise I just don’t feel like I’m making real progress.
@Gottoloveatakeaway well it sounds like you would’ve had a great time and that is worth more than a pound off the scale, you can totally get back on the wagon now 👍

Lost 2lb so 3.5 altogether. Going to go for it this week and try and get to half a stone although I’ve just inhaled a bag of mini eggs so 😩

Just checking in, still on track 💪. Weigh in Monday, final one of January- hoping for a loss. Have lost 12lb so far since 1st Jan. Minimal UPF and no diet Coke!

I’ve lost 3.5 pounds!!!
So that’s 5.5 overall since I started, would love to make it to half a stone by the end of next week.

I am out tonight AND tomorrow for food- who knew you could have such an amazing social life with two young kids 😂 but I’ll work just as hard next week as I have this week and hopefully it won’t set
me back too much

Well, last night I had Five Guys! It was planned, so I don't feel guilty or like I've 'ruined' anything. But physically, my god, I feel atrocious! Energy sapped, tummy unsettled, dry mouth, headachey, etc. Just goes to show that a healthy diet can make a huge change to physical wellbeing. Really interesting to feel the difference.

Making a completely homemade lebanese feast today, with ALLLL the vegetables so will hopefully feel better tomorrow!

@Tiredanddistracted I don’t think I’ve ever tried Lebanese food, although I might have had something without realising it was Lebanese origin. What are you making? I totally agree how your body gets used to healthy eating. The last couple of nights I’ve been genuinely full after dinner, not thinking wistfully of biscuits and chocolate

@PamelaDoov well, I never have before either tbh. I just googled. To be fair, a lot of it probably isn't actually authentically lebanese, just what some food blogger thinks is lebsnese iyswim.

I'm making:
Homemade flatbread
Chicken shawarma
Roasted cumin cauliflower
Homemade hummus
A salad with cabbage, spring onions, olive oil, lemon juice and zataar
Greek salad with feta and olives (def not lebanese but thought it would go well)

I've done all but the actual cooking of the shawarma, cauliflower and bread and I'm pooped! Sitting here with a glass of red recuperating!

Not sure what to do about weighing myself this week. Tomorrow wasn’t a terrible day food-wise but wasn’t great, and didn’t exercise either (long story as to why yesterday was like that). And we are out for dinner Friday night so no good weighing myself Saturday morning after loads of food & drink. So I’ve basically only got 3 days to be strict and then weigh Friday morning, and potentially be disappointed if I’ve not lost anything or even gained. But I feel like curiosity will get the better of me!

I’ve stayed the same this week which is actually a relief, I’ve been really off-plan most of this week (including today hence why weighing today not tomorrow). Next week I will be as good as I was last week!

Didn't weigh Saturday as I just forgot until lunchtime. Being good this week, focusing on lots of fruit and veg. Fingers crossed for Saturday

I’ve PUT ON a pound 😐 seriously. Wtf am I meant to do. I can’t eat any less than I already am without starving myself. I exercise every day. And I’m not even maintaining, im gaining???
Im making a doctors appointment. This is ridiculous.

8lb off now since I started Jan 4th, so it’s coming off slowly. Had my half stone award last Thursday but I had tonsillitis so that’s why I lost what I did! It’s so hard as need to be extra good now to lose any this Thursday. The thought of another fat summer is so scary so it’s spurring me on

Hello, I've been lurking gaining inspiration from your thread and I just wanted to hop on a say don't be discouraged!

You have been exercising so your muscles will be getting gradually denser - this weighs a lot. You will have been losing fat at the same time as gaining muscle at this stage so it will appear that the scales aren't shifting. They are but in a good direction.

The muscle you gain in the next few weeks will begin to burn fat for you. You may see the scales level for a few weeks but your body fat will continue to decrease/muscle density increase. You will become leaner, meaner machine.

Keep going!

@weregonnagetrelagetedthistimeforsure thank you so much for being supportive. I do feel like I have lost weight, so hopefully it is muscle. I’m having a week of clean eating this week, mostly veg and protein with a bit of carbs and good fat, no processed food. See if I can get the scales to move!

Think positive @PamelaDoov you've put the work in. It will show on scales. Maybe take a few measurements and check those as you are toning up, and that will give you a boost? Or try something on that was tight?
I've stayed the same. I'm struggling with eating healthy and so much work travel. Hotels just don't seem to serve veg with meals. 😮‍💨

Well I’ve lost 1.5 lbs which would normally be alright but it’s only cancelling out the pound I put on last week. So I’m basically in the same place I was 3 weeks ago. I am not on track to reach my goal weight before my holiday at all 😔
