Starting 2024 at my heaviest ever weight after being pregnant 3 times in 4 years. Don’t actually know how much I weigh as my scales are broken (not from me standing on them), but I know I’m the biggest I’ve ever been. I need people to know I HAVE to lose weight, for my health and my sanity. So I’m gonna start here, with strangers on the internet. So if I keep eating crap and not an exercising, I’ll have to admit it here and shame myself.
I have lost a lot weight in the past before I had kids so I had time to make it my sole focus, not so simple this time around.
Will sort my scales out and find out my starting weight.
Please join in if you also need a good kick up the arse and we can all muck in together.

I'm weighing in tomorrow.....excited!!! I have drunk hardly any water today though which is bad....just so busy! Have said no to the snacks again though, and I have some of my favourite chocolate in the fridge waiting for a treat on Saturday!

NCgoingdry · 11/01/2024 06:47

Thanks @PersisFord - let us know how the weigh in goes!

I'm WFH which is rare so I'm going to use the travelling time I've got back to drag the treadmill out and get some steps in. It'll help keep me warm at least as it's fecking freezing today.

Super stressful week at work. But I'm sticking to my herbal teas.

Got over myself now that my period has arrived this morning. Weirdly not craving the snacks and sugar - must have pushed past it. Hopefully I'll be less bloated by Saturday and the scales will be kind to me.

@poopyface It's a lot to think about isn't it. For now I'll just keep taking one day at a time because looking past that is setting me up for failure. I love the Annie Grace and Over The Influence podcasts if that'll be helpful? It's not preachy at all which is why I've avoided them so far.

The weekend is within reach - last weekend was fine as I kept really busy but this weekend will be hard, especially if my MIL gets involved as she likes to do because I ALWAYS drink around her just to get through it!

NCgoingdry · 11/01/2024 06:51

Oh yesterday I also didn't get a chance to eat!

I grabbed a bottle of Huel and had three swigs as it tasted Iike chocolate but had the consistency of glue so gave up with it.

Then nothing until dinner which was a beautiful piece of baked salmon (thanks for the inspiration!) with lemon and olives and a salad with spicy vinegar dressing (no oil or fat).

I actually felt full afterwards. Maybe the hard bit is over. DH has also gotten over his tantrum and cravings and is feeling less hungry and back to normal.

PersisFord · 11/01/2024 06:58

....1.8kg down! I know it's mostly water but I'm v pleased!

@NCgoingdry if she gets too stressful, fake a tummy bug, lock yourself in the toilet and post on this thread!!!

NCgoingdry · 11/01/2024 07:21

@PersisFord I had to convert it - but nearly 4lbs!! Woooooo

Gottoloveatakeaway · 11/01/2024 07:24

@PersisFord not tried alcohol free beer before but will give it a go.

Holly2285 · 11/01/2024 08:11

Please can I join in? I need to lose 3 stone by the end of June. I am going with the calorie counting and lower carb option. Last week I lost 4lbs but need to keep it up.

Back at work and I tend to buy lunch and I really need to stop and make lunch to take with me.

PamelaDoov · 11/01/2024 08:22

Urgh I’ve weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost less than a pound 😔 I know I’ve still got until Saturday until I know my official weekly weight loss, but I don’t know how much more can drop off in two days

OP posts:
coloursquare · 11/01/2024 10:47

@PamelaDoov I'm worse - weighed this morning and no change!

PamelaDoov · 11/01/2024 12:21

@coloursquare is that in a week?

OP posts:
coloursquare · 11/01/2024 23:06

@PamelaDoov no - since Sunday

PamelaDoov · 11/01/2024 23:44

@coloursquare you’ve got a few more days for it to catch up then. I have found in the past that my weight will stay the same for most of a week then suddenly drop off at the end which is why I usually resist a mid-week weigh in

OP posts:
NCgoingdry · 12/01/2024 06:09

@coloursquare I tend to agree with @PamelaDoov - it could be a number of things. Water retention, digestion etc. Suddenly it can change.

I've been tempted to weigh myself again but three times a week is OTT.

Had a super stressful day yesterday and was tempted to go FUCK IT and self sabotage everything but resisted. Didn't actually sit down until 9pm so it was tea, shower, bed which saved me.

Did 45 mins on the treadmill yesterday. Will do my weights today at some point. Need to plan out my weekend so I don't drink or eat shit but haven't got very far.

I'm guessing after a good first week and the water weight has gone I'll hit a plateau now and it'll slow down. As long as it's 1-2lbs a week I'll be content.

Who's weighing in tomorrow?

PamelaDoov · 12/01/2024 10:52

So I’ve lost 2lb in a week and 2 days, which is ok but I really wanted to be 2lb a week 😔 maybe tomorrow morning some more will have dropped off. I haven’t eaten today yet but I have had water & tea so I’m not weighing myself fully empty, which I will tomorrow

OP posts:
NCgoingdry · 12/01/2024 11:47

@PamelaDoov Don't be disheartened - it's still a good loss. And you're probably including a pint of fluids in that! Weigh tomorrow morning and it'll be different again.

My DH has lost 16lbs. Arsehole.

I'm on 5lb loss since 2nd Jan but majority of that is just water weight from Christmas alcohol binge. I think my weigh in tomorrow will be the same.

Slow and steady! If you're consistent you'll smash it 😄

I've booked out my weekend with acitivities - spent the money I would have wasted on wine to do some fun stuff with the kids. Hoping keeping active will keep me on track with my food too.

poopyface · 12/01/2024 14:30

@NCgoingdry 16lb!!!!

Well done everyone so far.
Im weighing in tomorrow… already had a hefty work lunch though and burger planned for dinner (“treat”) but still
no booze and super low carb rest of the week with exception of day so fingers crossed. Planning a swim and walk tomorrow.

Gottoloveatakeaway · 12/01/2024 20:11

Hoping for 2lbs off tomorrow, as done really well this week. Although feeling a really big, but healthy, dinner atm, so who knows.

maybein2022 · 13/01/2024 08:31

Hope everyone is doing ok. Still on track here and hoping for a good loss on Monday.

PamelaDoov · 13/01/2024 09:04

@PamelaDoov still the same this morning but I am feeling very bloated and crampy so I think I’m due on soon, if so then hopefully that’s why the numbers aren’t going down as much. I hope AF hurries up so I can get it over with!

OP posts:
NCgoingdry · 13/01/2024 10:26

I'm losing track of what I was earlier this week but this morning I weighed in at 11st3lbs.

I started at 11st 11lbs. So 8lb loss in two weeks.

My period did start though so that'll be something to do with it.

I'm determined to get some weights and cardio in this afternoon before we head out for dinner for a CHEAT MEAL!!!!

I'm struggling to do a number 2 - but I'm really reluctant to take any laxatives.

Gottoloveatakeaway · 13/01/2024 10:53

Weighed and 3lbs down, so really happy about that.

mumof5andfat · 13/01/2024 11:12

i weighed myself on Friday and i was 4lb down via keto. I sabotaged it all by Wednesday as I couldnt resist the chocolate and after that though F*K it :-( I'm starting again today...... i have NO self discipline at all. But I will do this

PamelaDoov · 13/01/2024 11:33

@NCgoingdry oh wow that’s so good! I am desperate for my period to come so I can get it out the way 😅

OP posts:
Maine234 · 13/01/2024 13:39

I haven't made much progress this week. Things were going well until I had a nasty fall on Thursday morning and I spent Thursday and Friday feeling sorry for my self and eating whatever I fancied. Back on the healthy eating band wagon today though and promising myself I will be more disciplined.

Will be stocking up on herbal tea and fruit and veg this afternoon at the supermarket.

NCgoingdry · 13/01/2024 18:34

@Maine234 hope you're ok! One day won't ruin it!!

Had a full on binge at Nando's with about four sides. Currently on the treadmill trying to make myself feel less bad about it 😂

Didn't drink though - I really really really want to drink.
