I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

I jumped on the scales this eve I will def lose in the morning but despite eating a decent volume of food today I am STARVING for the first time in ages! I have had to go to bed to escape hunger!

Today I had:

porridge
banana
scrambled eggs on brown toast and salad
apple with cheese
chocolate 🫣
yoghurt
massive portion of bolognaise with a whole head of broccoli

CoatOfArms · 07/01/2024 21:03

Good luck @Chestnutsroastgreen. You are very similar to me, I had worrying cholesterol/liver results in October, partially caused by my dodgy thyroid, but also down to being overweight. Cholesterol was measured at 7.9 which is very high.

I have gone from 85.9kg mid-October to 77.3kg today which is almost 19 pounds. During the second lockdown in 2021 I was up to 91kg. Had repeat bloods done last Friday so just waiting to see GP next week to find out if things are better. It's a real wake up call isn't it. I haven't found it hard at all to cut out the red meat, full fat dairy and booze, less easy to reduce the cakes and chocolate but needs must.

I have also been doing a sort of intermittent fasting in that I just have coffee in hte morning and no food until about 12.30, then I have some overnight oats made with fat free yoghurt, berries, honey, almonds and a "proper" dinner around 6-7pm. Trying not to snack. Eating lots of salmon, avocado and drinking a daily benecol style yoghurt drink. I do feel better for it and my clothes certainly fit a lot better. I am actually thinking my size 16 jeans are too loose and wondering whether I can get away with a 14...

Checking in after a busy weekend!

Nearly 1kg gained over the weekend, but I don’t mind that if it comes off in next 24 hours. Plus, I’ve got really bad cramps so assuming I’m coming on, so that makes sense.

61kg again, so 1kg off in totally since 01/01/24.

Menora · 08/01/2024 07:43

78.7kg so this is a slight loss. My trend is just over 1kg in a month which is dreadful but I think this is just the way it’s going to be for the next 10kg…

This is 12st 5lb
I was hanging around 12st 8lb for ages and dipped down to 12st 6 a couple of times but kept going back up so now I think it is going downwards just very slowly…

CoatOfArms · 08/01/2024 10:45

77.3 today again.

Have worked out though that as my starting weight was 85.9kg, and I have lost 8.6kg, that's 10% of my body weight.

CoatOfArms · 08/01/2024 10:50

@Menora does it matter how quickly it comes off as long as it stays off? I'm not an expert but I'd imagine there is lots of research showing that people on crash diets who lose lots very quickly are more likely to put it all back on.

TheShellBeach · 08/01/2024 10:59

18st 4.8lb yesterday

18st 4.6lb today

Tiny loss but better then nothing, and I always eat a little more at the weekend.

No it’s just me being frustrated as I lost quickly for 6 months, then the last 3 months have been very slow and I am sure I have another 6 months to go.

I can’t buy new clothes really as I am not at the weight I am going to be at goal so I am stuck in a lot of my old too big stuff or stretchy (can’t afford a new temporary wardrobe) so I still feel a bit Bleugh. A lot of my clothes are 16’s and I’m just getting into stretchy 12’s more easily even my bras are too big but not yet at goal so trying not to replace them yet. I did try buy size 12 jeans but I am a little uncomfortable in them at this point. I’m just in that middle point of being less overweight but still overweight. It will pass

EatingTillIDie · 08/01/2024 12:58

How much more do you want to lose?
My goal weight is 65kg.

SpongeBlobSquareFace · 08/01/2024 17:58

Not much but my face is very fat so I want to lose a few pounds to see if that makes me look more sculpted. This time last year I weighed 54kg but I was doing a lot more walking. If I can get to 55kg I will be happy plus I'm a shorty

I'm 5' 3" and will be happy with 65kg.

Menora · 08/01/2024 18:53

I’m 5’5’ and I will be happy with 68kg
my fatty areas are bum, thighs and hips

CoatOfArms · 08/01/2024 19:02

To get out of the "overweight" BMI category I need to be 68kg. Realistically, I will be happy with 70kg which is just marginally over.

I am finding that having dropped from almost 86kg down to just over 77kg my jeans are a bit loose and i'm currently looking at buying a size 14. I haven't bought that size since my first baby was born and he's 21 next month. If I get to 70kg that's probably more like a size 12. Although sizing is so all over the place - I have a size S Zara coat and I am definitely not a size S.

Menora · 08/01/2024 19:20

@CoatOfArms you sound similar to me. I am a 12/14 now at 78kg
I will see how I go at 70kg but it will still be just over over 25bmi

Chestnutsroastgreen · 08/01/2024 21:24

@CoatOfArms good luck with your retest. My cholesterol is being retested in 6months, plus my Hb1aC which is the more concerning one as getting nearer to pre diabetes level, after gestational diabetes in all 3 pregnancies. To have bought the yoghurt type drinks, lots of Brazil nuts and an avocado! Intermittent fasting is helping, but so far only managing 12:12 - as breaking fast around 7am for a much needed cup of tea, but then did not eat until 11 today.

SW 90.9kg
CW 90.7kg

12gum · 08/01/2024 21:26

i started weighing on the 1st at 209lbs
Today I’m 203lbs. I need to be 185lbs to be healthy weight but I’m aiming for 150lbs

spackleplumb · 08/01/2024 21:38

I weighed this morning and am happy to report I'm down to 14st 10lbs! I know that's still huge to some but to me it's progress and I'm fitting lots of clothes I haven't been able to fit for years. Really pleased!

SW: 16st 5lbs / 103.9kg
CW: 14st 10lbs / 93.4kg

Oh wow just realised that's 20kg!! Hadn't seen it written down until now.
Hope everyone's doing ok today and having a happy start to their week.

spackleplumb · 08/01/2024 21:40

10kg! Typo BlushConfused

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 08/01/2024 21:57

@SpongeBlobSquareFace i think I saw you said you were 5ft 1? Same as me. I’d LOVE to be 52kg but now I’m older (with less willpower) 55kg I’d be happy. I really show my weight as soon as I gain.

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 08/01/2024 21:57

@spackleplumb 10kg is a brilliant achievement! Well done!!! X

Hello all.

HW - 14.10
CW - 12.03
GW - 10.10

I've lost over the last 2 years and gone from obese to 'only' overweight. I have a fatty liver, which causes me pain when I was heavier and the only treatment is to lose weight. So I've dieted slowly. This last year I've added in Weygovy and am taking somewhere between 0.5 and 0.75 weekly. I've committed to another 2 months of that at that dose, then I am coming off it and doing it on my own.

Back to work today, but also out with friends for dinner this evening, so day one is tomorrow.

I had got to 11.13, but put on 4lb over 2 weeks of not watching (or caring) what I ate over Christmas.

Onwards and downwards.
