I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

yeah, but the thread is about daily weigh in, the op does state its not for everyone but finds it more motivating to weigh daily.

There have been studies that show those that weigh daily can be more more effective for weight loss

It definitely is for me.

I find if I forget for a couple of days, I lose momentum and motivation. Then my diet goes tits up.

Menora · 06/01/2024 08:41

I like to weigh daily now to keep myself accountable. Otherwise I am unclear on if I am in the right direction or not.

Back to 78.8kg so I have just cycled through a week of weights to get back to the one I was a week ago 😂 which is very common for me but helpful to see an overall downward trend

you can’t focus too much on daily weights they need to be plotted on a graph to see an overall trend

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 06/01/2024 09:06

I weigh daily because I like to be able to see the trends. It helps me to be able to look back and say 'ah ha this time last month I put on a 1lb too but then it dropped, no worried it's just hormonal' if I just weigh weekly then I don't get that.

spackleplumb · 06/01/2024 10:12

@MikeRafone to be fair there are studies that'll show anything we want to claim really but I did say to each their own. It wasn't a judgement. You may have missed my previous post stating I'm a recovering anorexic so cautious for good reason of the risks in daily weighing, but liking the accountability of the thread which is why I'm here. It's helping me by giving me a clearer idea on how people's weight varies day to day which is something I struggle with for myself.

Cinai · 06/01/2024 11:01

SW: 87kg
CW: 84.8kg
GW: 78kg

Menora · 06/01/2024 11:51

It’s not a good idea to weigh yourself every day if it is causing you distress or you find yourself hyper focused on it. I like the graph it makes and as I am prone to fast weight gains it is helpful to keep my mind on the task I have set myself but it is so variable. My weekly graph looks rubbish but my 6 month graph is a clear gradual downward line

Menora · 06/01/2024 11:54

I haven’t been very active lately due to work so today I went out on a long walk. Despite headphones and wrapping up warm I have my usual ear/jaw ache from the cold which will give me a headache. I ended up only doing 5k steps because of it

TheShellBeach · 06/01/2024 11:57

Okay, so today I'm 18st 6.8lb.

That's down from 18st 7.6lb yesterday.

I've also started using the NHS app, and logging my daily calorie intake. I've never done that before.

CoatOfArms · 06/01/2024 13:16

77.8 kg today.

SW 85.9kg, target 70kg ish.

SpongeBlobSquareFace · 06/01/2024 16:39

Barely slept last night and couldn't use scales so no weight today. Also I've eaten rocky road, Pringles, salted peanuts and pop corn so far today. Oops 😬

SpongeBlobSquareFace · 07/01/2024 07:09

57.3kg today

Menora · 07/01/2024 07:12

79kg today but I am sure it’s water as I worked out a lot yesterday and drank a lot

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 07/01/2024 07:36

5lb loss so far

EatingTillIDie · 07/01/2024 09:03

So pleased to see teeny tiny loss today. I hope this means I will never see the number 19 again 🙈

85kg today. Wrong direction, I’ll blame my cheat Saturday Prosecco 😅

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 09:39

Ooh @EatingTillIDie that really is exciting. Well done!

I am hoping to edge closer to under 18 stone - have not weighed myself yet.
I got up early to put a shoulder of lamb in the oven, for a marathon 8 hour Turkish recipe which I discovered on You Tube yesterday.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 09:40

Well done @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain that's excellent.

Anyone who has gained - tomorrow is another day!

YellowRoses100 · 07/01/2024 09:53

Hi everyone. I also weigh daily.

SW: 93 kilos
Current weight: 85.6 kilos. That's in a month.

I'm doing the Cambridge weightleoss plan.

I want to get to 70kg and then begin exercising and doing low carbs.

I hope to get to about 60kg.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 10:17

Hi @YellowRoses100 that's very good - well done!

Do you find you get hungry on the Cambridge weightloss plan?

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 07/01/2024 10:18

Here's how it looks on the daily theme

This puts me at exactly 100kg so any losses from here on mean I'm into double instead of triple digits!!

CoatOfArms · 07/01/2024 11:29

SW 85.9kg
Current 77.3 kg
Target 70kg

Delighted - another 500g off today. And more importantly, my clothes all fit me better. Whatever the scales say, pulling on something you haven't worn in a while and it fitting is so much more motivation to keep going. I'm starting to think I might need size 14 trousers rather than 16 and this is not a size I have bought in about 20 years.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 13:01

I was 18st 6.6lb yesterday.

Today I'm 18st 4.6lb.

YellowRoses100 · 07/01/2024 15:04

Not really. I have a CD porridge for breakfast. Then I have a bar about 11/12pm. I then have a shake at about 4ish and dinner (protein and veg) at 6/7ish. I drink loads of water. But if I am really hungry il just snack on some cooked chicken, fish etc. Or eggs. I'm not super strict but it works for me.

Chestnutsroastgreen · 07/01/2024 19:15

Hi, please may I join. Been reading the posts and plucked up the courage to post. I weigh daily. However, after some concerning blood tests in December ( cholesterol etc) I am really trying to lose weight.

i am going to do 16:8 or 12:12 to try to stop snacking. And have started an exercise regime from doing nothing to trying to walk 7,000 steps a day, the. Hope to add in some classes.

SW 90.9kg

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 19:22

Good luck @Chestnutsroastgreen !
