I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

Echoing everyone else but that seems too low on calories. I'm 5'1 and am a lower weight so need fewer calories to maintain but I aim for 1200-1500 ish which is working at moment. If it stalls I'd probably get stricter but not go under 1200.

Wafflefudge · 15/01/2024 09:48

Are you getting enough protein? I feel having a bit more calories but based around protein gives better results than super low calorie.

Menora · 15/01/2024 09:53

@spackleplumb i think it’s good you acknowledge that it might be an issue, and tbh why I like this forum is that mostly others are NOT encouraging people to do things that might be detrimental to their health or wellbeing. I’m a stranger to you but I still care about your wellbeing in that sense, we aren’t in competition together so I am happy to support you and be honest of my opinion that I think you are being too hard on yourself and a little too restrictive and you may need to experiment with a better middle ground. You need to convince yourself you can and will lose weight but you also need to take care of yourself too in the meantime. Restrictive eating never makes me happy, it’s setting yourself up to fail long term when you burst out of the grips of the restriction and go wild on a binge. I lost 2st last year looked better then gained back over 3st and I was so upset with myself so I asked myself how can I change this and not keep cycling back? The answer was to do it slowly. I’ve now formed new habits and mindset about my eating and body I didn’t have before. You can get there but maybe it would be good if you had some professional support as you have had an ED in the past? Have you got any support?

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 15/01/2024 10:10

@spackleplumb looking at your TDEE, if you did no exercise you could eat around 1300 calories a day and still be 500 deficit.

Up your protein a little, give your body something to use to build lean muscle and increase your metabolism, drink plenty of water and see how it goes.

No change again today. But had two separate encounters with friends today, people I haven't seen for several months. Both remarked that they thought I'd lost weight so even though I can't see it, others clearly can.

spackleplumb · 15/01/2024 18:30

@FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain @Menora @Wafflefudge sorry I was at work and just home now so only just seen your comments. Thank you for being so kind and also for being so helpful too. What lovely comments to read after a long tiring day! I probably do need to up my protein that is a good point. I also really appreciate the calorie calculation thing too! I hadn't seen it put in such a clear way before so that is really, really helpful! Thank you loads!!
And well done to everyone on the thread you are all doing so well with your personal goals and keeping at it!

EatingTillIDie · 15/01/2024 22:17

We are having a slight blip, but the advantage of daily weigh in means I have been very good. So hopefully will see a drop soon enough!

If I'm honest with myself, I'm still cheating. But it is way better than I usually eat. If I am still struggling by next Monday I will commit to doing a food diary.

Can I please join?

I weighed myself today for the first time in over a year and I’ve put on over half a stone!! I’m shocked and annoyed!

I will be upping my steps and cutting my calories to get it off! I’m 44 btw.

CW 10st 1lb
TW 9st 7lb (I’m only 5ft 1)

will be weighing everyday and posting for accountability. Good luck all!

Menora · 16/01/2024 07:31

Got the post workout gains going on I reckon as no one puts on half a kg overnight 😂
by the end of the week I might drop again
today is 78.6kg
yesterday was 78kg
day before that 77.8kg 😂
i’m literally eating the same but working out more

Cinai · 16/01/2024 11:54

84kg today, finally a big drop, but probably the last weight loss for a while because I just found out that I’m pregnant 🤣 Wishing you all good luck on your journeys, I’ll bow out now and head into the opposite direction.

GW of 78kg postponed to 2025.

Wineloffa · 16/01/2024 12:30

Weighed myself first thing this morning and now I’m 9st 12lb.

not sure how I managed to lose 3lbs in a day, but I’m not complaining. I think it’s maybe because yesterday I weighed myself in the afternoon…

CoatOfArms · 16/01/2024 17:07

Congatulations @Cinai that's lovely news. When are you due? No change for me again today but still feeling v positive - I tried on a pair of size 14 M&S jeans in the charity shop where I volunteer today and they fitted easily. Delighted to have gone down a size from the 16 I have been wearing forever. I'm sure someone will be along to say that a 14 in M&S is like a 20 everywhere else but for me it's a real progress point.

Menora · 16/01/2024 17:10

@Cinai congrats!!!! 🥳 happy for you

who knows with sizes 😂 I have one pair of next trousers in a 14 that fall down and another from River Island in a 14 I can’t even get my calf into 😂

Cinai · 16/01/2024 19:02

Thanks all 🙂 I’m only 4 weeks so a lot can happen still, but I’m trying to be positive.

@Cinai congratulations! What lovely news.

@Wineloffa sounds a great goal! I am quite tall, at 5ft 6.5 but weight far too much.

today, a small loss - but it is my first, tiny, milestone - half a kg loss now. Down to 90.4kg
i am managing 6k steps every day now, and have 2 lots of exercise booked this week. I cannot do too much, due to illness and trying to avoid the awful crashes that mean 3k steps a day is difficult.

Wineloffa · 17/01/2024 22:14

Fantastic @EatingTillIDie! Well done!

I’m down another pound today, but derailed slightly tonight by having 2 glasses of wine. I was good all day apart from that, so will be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow.

i am now below the weight I was before Christmas! Took longer than I hoped but as long as I am on a general downward trajectory I won’t get too worked up!

I have now lost 1st 8lbs in three months - from a size 16 to 14. At 9st 9 I might even fit into a size 10😎

Menora · 18/01/2024 13:42

Well done all! I’m having a bit of a flop about, I don’t think I am eating enough and my BMR is lower than I thought, so I am doing some food adjustment. It could be water but I am fluctuating so wildly recently it’s confusing. I don’t have periods so it isn’t that. I’ve lost another half inch off my waist but gained a whole kg 😂
