I'm doing daily weigh ins, I find it more motivating. It might not be for everyone but if anyone would like to join in with posting every day your weight and loss, and how the day has gone - to stay in focus. Good luck!

SW: 209lb
CW: 201lb
TW: 150lb
51lbs to go

The app I’m using predicts I’ll get there by November which feels ages away but I want to do it right this time and not lose too much too soon. I’m getting married in 14 weeks so hopefully I can lose 20-30lbs before then. If I could get to 176 ish I’d be chuffed

CoatOfArms · 11/01/2024 10:49

Starting Weight 85.9kg
Today 77.3kg (again)
7.5kg ish to go

Stuck at 77.3kg again today but am happy with this as in the last 2 days I have had two fancy meals out and have not really been able to stick to my normal eating pattern. Have appointment tomorrow afternoon with GP to discuss the bloods I had done last week, will be gutted if there is no improvement at all.

Wafflefudge · 11/01/2024 15:24

@SkinnyChaiLattePlease @Menora @Sleeplessinseattle234 thanks.
Yes when your short a little weight gain really does make a difference to your shape and clothes fitting. I don't need to gain much weight before clothes don't fit anymore.
I'm down to 56.2 kg this morning though so hopefully back to pre Christmas weight in a couple of weeks.
Everyone seems to be making great progress!!

EatingTillIDie · 11/01/2024 18:34

1lb down, basically stable this week. Main thing is I've stayed below 19st !!

I bet you're really happy about that!

I'd like to say I'm below 18st but I haven't got there yet. It's such an achievement for your weight to start with the next stone down, isn't it?

Well done.

spackleplumb · 11/01/2024 18:58

I don't have a weight update as no change since Monday buuuut I am fitting into my size 14 dresses again! I know there's some much smaller people on this thread (who are doing incredibly by the way) but since I started at a size 18/20 I'm really happy!
I've been doing a ton of core exercises alongside the calorie counting etc so although I'd like to have lost more weight I'm pleased my clothes are fitting better.
Aiming for my size 10s again but heading the right direction so happy with that.
Well done everyone you are all doing well Smile

2kidsintow · 11/01/2024 19:13

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 12/01/2024 07:11

Well done everyone!

I’m at 60.9kg which is not good, but it’s taken 4 days for my period to come on and it’s just been horrible, so I’m living with it and trying not to be cross.

Menora · 12/01/2024 07:24

I really do not know what is going on with my weights as they are all over the place so I have bought a better set of scales to try to track more accurately. I am blaming the scales initially as they give me lower weights at night than morning and also about 3 different readings!

Wafflefudge · 12/01/2024 07:56

100g up this morning. But still been eating well so all good im sure.
Well done @FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain brilliant progress

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 08:58

Another 200g down today.

SW 85.9kg
today 77.1 kg
target 70kg ish

2kidsintow · 12/01/2024 09:02

Sts today

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 09:19

Have also worked out that my starting weight in October of 86kg was 189 lbs and my weight today of 77.1kgs is 169.9kg. That's almost 20 lbs lost. Will report back after GP visit later.

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 15:13

Just adding on this thread too as I'm so chuffed and need to share... back from the GP to discuss my cholesterol. Levels have dropped from 7. something to 5 which is back in a normal range. She said the change was "remarkable".

Very pleased, still have more weight to lose but seeing the changes reflected in the blood numbers is such good motivation.

SkinnyChaiLattePlease · 12/01/2024 15:46

@CoatOfArms that is fantastic news! Both on the loss, and the GP visit! You must be really proud of yourself x

Cinai · 12/01/2024 15:46

Congrats @CoatOfArms that’s incredible! My journey is very similar to yours. I’ve started to change my diet and lose weight early December, partly because my cholesterol was over 6. I started at 87kg with the aim to get to 78kg. I’ve only lost 2.5kg so far, but just got my new blood test back and my cholesterol already went down to 5.3. My doctor said to continue my healthy lifestyle. Hopefully some more kgs will drop as well.

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 15:48

I think it just proves that given my underlying issues with my dodgy thyroid, I can no longer get away with eating rubbish. Don't miss cheese and red meat at all to be honest. Not eating chocolate and cake is much harder...

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 15:58

Keep at it @Cinai - if I can do it so can you. It's really not rocket science, we all know what we should be eating more of, and less of.

EatingTillIDie · 12/01/2024 18:22

Wow loads of positive updates today, I love it! Here's mine to add 🥳 10lb loss overall and lowest since I started

@CoatOfArms that is fantastic news! How long was it between blood tests? I hope mine will be going down when I next have bloods taken in June.
@Cinai I have joined this thread and a real effort to lose weight due to high cholesterol and an increasing Hb1aC.

SW 90.9kg
CW 90.9kg

very little loss, but I have at last stopped gaining.
Plan to take children swimming at the weekend and have joined an exercise class which starts next week,

Chestnutsroastgreen · 12/01/2024 21:19

@Cinai sorry meant to add, that is a great reduction already! Great to read

CoatOfArms · 12/01/2024 22:16

Three months between blood tests @Chestnutsroastgreen . First blood test was about 10th October, most recent one was 5th January. I thanked the GP for scaring the shit out of me. I know my underactive thyroid means I am more likely to experience issues with cholesterol but that's no excuse for eating crap like I was doing. I am so glad that I said to the GP I wanted to try lifestyle changes for 3 months before accepting the prescription for statins. Had I taken that prescription back in October, my cholesterol would probably have been better but I'd still be 20 lbs heavier.
