2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

This is so great to see all these losses, really inspiring! A huge well done @chalkyc2 .

I’m wishing now I had joined you earlier 😀 if I can manage another 3lbs by end of the year I’ll be down a stone which I will be absolutely delighted with, it’s just making sure I keep at it over Christmas.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 15/12/2023 16:32

hi everyone! i hope everything is going to plan for you all. im not sure about it on my end, i feel like ive been off the wagon for a few too many days in a row after my work christmas dinner etc. today has been fine though and cooking for dinner. just trying to do my best in the last few weeks. no idea how well im doing as i still havent weighed myself since i started.

GoodDream · 15/12/2023 18:16

I'm on holiday now so definitely off plan 😂 Wil try not to be toooo terrible, but life is for living and I'll get back on the diet in the new year 😊

ChickenChipsandBeans · 18/12/2023 04:05

Morning. I have maintained the same weight as last week. Had a whoosh down to 73.8kg on Saturday morning, but straight back up to 74.5 yesterday and today. Hoping now the weekend is over I can focus this week and hope to see a loss on Christmas day. Normal week for us here. Kids still at school as Christmas isn't celebrated, therefore no school holidays. I am hosting a Christmas party on Saturday, but I tend to be so busy keeping everyone's mulled wine topped up that I don't over indulge. Fingers crossed. Have a good week.

SW 82.2KG
CW 74.5KG
CHRISTMAS DAY GOAL:73KG🙏

Bananas1350 · 18/12/2023 06:36

I’m gutted. I really thought I would see a 10.13 this morning. Which I actually did. Stood on the scales. Saw a 10.13. Did a little dance and went to get my phone to take a photo to send my sister ( we are dieting together and are the same weight ).

got back on and it went back up to 11 stone. Off and on and off and on and it stayed at 11. Why people why

chalkyc2 · 18/12/2023 06:50

Weight of the phone @Bananas1350 ?? Try without it? Reset the scales,,,?!

Bananas1350 · 18/12/2023 08:19

I never thought of that. So. It is entirely my sisters fault then 😂

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 18/12/2023 08:43

I bet that phone weighs three or four pounds at least Grin

I've maintained this week. It's a bit disappointing as although I've not had a perfect week, it's not been a disaster either, and on Saturday I was 2lb down. But Monday is the weigh in proper, so here were are. Keep at it folks!

WinterStar1 · 18/12/2023 10:01

I've had such a fab week with birthday and Christmas celebrations. Lots of drink and (some) food. Went to work today and managed to weigh myself, another 1kg down. Still feeling ropey from the weekend, so did a covid test, which was positive (I work with vulnerable patients) and was swiftly sent home.... gutted

Current loss - 1 kg
Total loss - 14 kg
Target loss - 12.7 kg

Bananas1350 · 19/12/2023 06:37

I did it!!!!! On the scales and saw a proper 10.13!!!!!
sw- 13.1
cw - 10.13!!!!
gw - 9

I had it to get to the first week in Jan. but I had a sudden whoosh a week ago and lost three pounds in a week. Wish I could figure out why it happens 😂

jeomeollibyeoldul · 19/12/2023 18:57

@Bananas1350 and other losers - wow - fantastic! 👏

chalkyc2 · 21/12/2023 08:06

Adding a final pre Christmas weigh in for this thread. 3 months after I joined the thread, and 8 months exactly since I started on my 'body reduction plan'! It's been hard guys. But I think I'm more determined than I've ever been.

So.

SW 20/04 - 118.5kg/18.9 stone
Thread start 21/09 - 91.2kg/14.5 stone
CW - 76.9kg/12.2 stone

Target - 65kg/10.3 stone

So - 6.7 stone lost in total, 2.3 stone in the last 3 months. Just under 2 stone to go for a normal BMI.

Thanks for the support and encouragement on here! @RedDoughnut hope you're ok - we haven't heard from you in a while. I'm here for the pre Easter thread for the next 2 stone, but for now a careful considered Christmas for me 😊

Bananas1350 · 21/12/2023 10:29

Yes. I would love a two stone before Easter thread!!!

recklessgran · 22/12/2023 09:25

Me too. I've fallen off big time. Will be starting again in the New Year so hoping @RedDoughnut is O.K. and will be up for it. Merry Christmas everyone!

ChickenChipsandBeans · 22/12/2023 10:14

Well done on those losses! I'm definitely in for another thread for Easter. Still doing really well with the exercise, but I know I have become lax around food. Not eating unhealthily, but bigger portion sizes and bread etc is sneaking back in. I also will have a mindful Christmas and then I want to get back on track. Was hoping to reach a further half stone loss by Christmas day, but unless magically a kilo leaves me in the next 2 days it won't happen😒.

jeomeollibyeoldul · 24/12/2023 11:43

so i finally did a weigh in and in total since i started ive lost 15 pounds! im absolutely delighted with this and going to keep going into the new year definitely, ive still got about 30 pounds to lose but this has been a great start. im sure im going to put a bit back on over the next few days but that’s what christmas is about after all. congratulations to everyone again and wishing you all very happy christmases and a good festive season. ill see you in the new year!

Bananas1350 · 24/12/2023 18:27

I’m doing my final weigh in for this thread tomorrow. Won’t make the two stone before Xmas. But I have lost two stone overall.

RedDoughnut · 24/12/2023 19:30

Oh my what a horrible couple of weeks with me.
Involving a hole in my roof, missing ridge tiles, a water leak.
Home insurance with emergency cover that was expensive and totally and utterly useless.

I have no idea what I weigh

Despite everything my family and are all ok.

What should we call the new thread?

2 stones off by Easter?

OP posts:
Bananas1350 · 25/12/2023 11:08

So I did weigh in this morning to finish this thread. And from when I first posted to today I have lost 1 stone and 6 pounds. So not two stone. But nearly. Looking forward to the 2 stone by Easter thread. See if I can beat this one.

recklessgran · 27/12/2023 08:32

Oh @RedDoughnut thank God you're back and all O.K! [ish] I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It will be a fresh start for me on the new thread after my spectacular fall from grace - no excuses, just life s* and the associated stress. After multiple episodes of binge eating I am back to square one but determined to succeed in the New Year. Another week in the Canaries looming at the end of February will act as my first motivational goal I hope. Spending the next few days resetting and thinking about the best long term strategy that might work for me.

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2023 09:06

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. I’ve been on the scales this morning and look like I have lost a couple of pounds down since last weigh in but will see what I am on Friday which is my official weigh in day, I was owed a couple of pounds from the week before so it’s just my body catching up if I a, still down but would be really happy with that.

Finding not eating until 12 helped over Christmas and had 3 days of eating effectively one meal a day, albeit large meals of Chistmans dinner and pizza. I think having a continuous glucose monitor on to see what my blood sugar is doing was really helpful and made me very aware of what I was eating. I thought I would be prediabetic but actually it was not too bad and would like to keep it that way.

chalkyc2 · 27/12/2023 15:56

I'm feeling very aggrieved as despite being SO good, exercising every day apart from Xmas day, no chocolate, only having one glass of wine, one portion of Xmas pudding and one piece of Christmas cake, I have put on a kilo!!! FFS!!
Oh well. Off to the in laws for a few days before normal service can resume. I'm here for the Easter thread. Will try and get out for a few muddy runs and no alcohol.

Strictlyslender99 · 27/12/2023 19:39

Many thanks to RedDoughnut for this thread and congratulations to everyone who had lost weight! There are some really great losses on here!

I’m afraid I have failed (again)! Lost 8kg in the early autumn but put it all on again in late November/early December. I suppose if I hadn’t lost the weight originally, I would be 8kg heavier now but … need to lose weight and keep it off!

Will be joining Easter thread if that’s ok under a different nn!

Hope everyone has a very happy New Year!

Seaitoverthere · 29/12/2023 07:28

@chalkyc2 , that is really annoying but I think it will be mostly water and undigested food and will come off quickly.

@Strictlyslender99 looking at it that you aren’t 8kg heavier rather failed is a good way of thinking about it.

Weigh in day today and I have lost 2.6lb. 2lbs of which I was ‘owed ‘ from last week. I have a dull ache roughly where my liver is which is definitely good for losing weight as I am worried that drug I am on for inflammatory arthritis is damaging my already not great liver. Have taken myself off the med for now until I can have bloods next month and speak to rheumatology. Being very careful about what I eat currently.

twodogsandI · 30/12/2023 10:32

Posted under a different name then lurked for nearly the whole thread!

Starting weight: 12 stone 7
Current weight: 11 stone
Goal weight: 8 stone seven

Really want to see 10 stone something tomorrow but may be Monday. I was ten stone 12 but then went into Christmas and gained a pound again!

Love this thread - very up for another one racing towards Easter!
