2 Stones off by Christmas- a thread for those with quite a lot to lose.

RedDoughnut · 17/09/2023 08:51

2 stones is a drop in the ocean but there are 14 weeks to Christmas and so at 2lbs a week a 2 stone loss is achievable. Maybe a little bit more if you have lots to lose like me. ( 5 stones).

I'm going to weigh in on Monday and possibly check my measurements if I can find a tape measure!

I'd welcome some company form anyone who wants to have some accountability and a place to keep track of their weekly / daily food intake or losses.

I'm now off to have a small and healthy breakfast.

I had a good start yesterday but then things went incredibly down hill after my healthy lunch.

I had a crumpet with maple syrup and butter, a load of HobNob biscuits Then for dinner a whole pizza and potato wedges and sour cream. And 2 ice creams.

I think it was because I was incredibly tired after very little sleep the night before. I found a few weeks ago that tiredness made my willpower disappear.

Still tired today but with added stomach ache. I don't think I can handle that quantity of food any longer.

hi everyone! its good to be back on the thread and reading your updates, although really sorry about those of us who are struggling. i just want to say please DO NOT beat yourself up about eating, seriously - no matter what you ate, even if youve eaten three takeaways and enough cake for 10 women (as i have been known to do) or anything - accept that it was what your body needed at the time. this is a long term process and i hope everyone can keep moving forward!

have not been on plan at all over the last couple of days - had my christmas work dinner and all of that going on so just threw it out the window for a bit. im back on track now and there are 3 weeks left until christmas (give or take) so time to be on my best behaviour for the last stretch.

Bananas1350 · 06/12/2023 13:28

@RedDoughnut the only reason I am doing so well without any slip ups is because of my gallbladder. I cannot eat anything bad. Otherwise I’m not sure I would have lost nearly two stones already temptation is hard. And pizza is my fav so I can see why u are.

RedDoughnut · 06/12/2023 13:42

I still have 10lbs to go for my 2 stones. In less than 3 weeks.
I suppose it's not totally impossible!

I'm glad I started the thread but feel a bit guilty I didn't lead from the front by being a super loser!

Me too, @RedDoughnut but I'm so glad to have lost over a stone and you have done so well too. The rest of December is quite tricky with parties and events, just had my period and I have a cold/sinusitis. Just pleased I haven't self-sabotaged, though I did go over calories last week and stayed the same I did record everything. So I am carrying on. Haven't managed any way of eating for this long since about 2004.

At a work do last week I could only eat part of the turkey dinner and barely managed any dessert, it was a really rich chocolate thing. Only had one glass of wine and had much less to drink than at other previous events! What is going on? Hoping I've now changed habits permanently.

Goneback2school · 06/12/2023 14:58

I did it!! I hit the 2 stone off mark this morning for my birthday weigh in!!
Fully expecting no further losses for the week as planning takeaway this evening and eating out on Friday.

Bananas1350 · 11/12/2023 06:47

Stood on the scales.
sw - 13.1
cw- 11!!!!!
tw - 9st

so I have officially lost two stone since starting my weight loss journey in August. Very proud of myself for that. Was hoping I would see a 10 on the scales after Xmas. But as I have dropped three pounds since last week I really hope I will now.

chalkyc2 · 11/12/2023 08:12

Fabulous @Bananas1350 !!! Congratulations!

I've had a small mini whoosh too - 1lb to go here.....

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 11/12/2023 08:30

Well done on these fabulous losses! It's very cheering to hear that so many of you have achieved or are approaching your goal. I'm proud to add my name to that list (sort of!). I've lost a pound this week which brings up a 10lb loss. It's far more modest progress than the rest of you, but looking back at the start of the thread this was my original goal.

SW 14st 1
CW 13st 5

As this was a thread for those of us with maybe more that just our original goals to lose, does anyone want to either set new goals now, or reconvene in the New Year? I have at least another stone and a half to go, but I think aiming for another 10lb in the 13ish weeks between New Year's Day and Easter is my next goal.

recklessgran · 11/12/2023 10:39

Morning all this weigh day Monday and I'm pleased to report a 2lb loss which I'm really pleased with.
Start weight 15st
Last week 14st 8lbs
Current weight 14st 6lbs
Well done everybody - I'm in awe of all you who are at or approaching the 2 stone mark. I'm going to be here for the long haul I think but the crucial thing is - I'm not giving up!

WinterStar1 · 11/12/2023 16:49

Hi everyone, some good losses again this week. I'm not back in work until Wednesday so I will post my results then.

GoodDream · 11/12/2023 22:30

Half a pound off for me this week 😊 Well done on the losses!

My xmas hols start this weekend so I hope to stay the same next Monday weigh in. But prob not as I have three meals out planned on Fri, Sat and Sun, yum.

ChickenChipsandBeans · 12/12/2023 18:20

Hi everyone. I'm late posting, but weighed in a kilo down this week. Extremely surprised as I have had 3 weeks since I came back from the UK not in the zone. Took the first week to get over the travelling (no direct flights in winter) and to get back into my routine, and then I don't know....I think because I had had a 6 week time frame to lose as much as I could, I was very motivated and then I reached my goal and I've just not got back into it. However, I recognised my bad habits were becoming an every day thing again so have been back on track today and yesterday. Feel so much better and sleeping better. Annoyed at myself, but am focusing on the positive of being back in the right head space. I really enjoy reading this thread and find it very motivational. Well done to you all.

SW 82.2KG
CW 74.5

WinterStar1 · 13/12/2023 10:45

Woo hoo 0.7 kg lost which means I've smashed my 2 stone goal. So chuffed and must say I'm so happy I joined this thread to keep me motivated and accountable.

Double bonus is that today is my birthday so I'm going to celebrate it today with a meal with family, knowing that I'm 2 stone lighter than what I was a couple of months ago.

Current loss - 0.7 kg
Total loss - 13 kg
Target loss - 12.7 kg

Seaitoverthere · 13/12/2023 17:49

What a wonderful birthday present to yourself @WinterStar1 , a huge well done. I hope you have a lovely day.

I weighed at GP today and am 5kg down from where I was at hospital appointment just under 6 weeks ago so I am happy with that.

WinterStar1 · 13/12/2023 20:25

@Seaitoverthere thank you so much. That's a fab loss for you too. Well done.

chalkyc2 · 14/12/2023 10:19

Ok guys - made it! 2 stone down since Sept 21st. I'll do a final weigh in on the 20th as that is 8 months exactly since I started on the smaller healthy body plan (shall I trademark that?!? Will it catch on?!?)

SW for the thread 21/9 - 14.5/91.2kg
CW 14/12 - 12.5/78.6kg

Target - 10.3/65kg
