@Ledochas thanks for sharing that with us and I've got everything crossed for you. It really helps when you have confidence in the consultant. Good shout, i've got a lovely soft jersey blazer somewhere, I used to think I looked like my mum in blazers and now I think I look ok... which suggests I finally have turned into my mum 😂

hello @Tessisme! good to see you again! To my shame I ran off and hid for a few months as i was gaining, but couldn't stay away for long. Maybe I'll restart IF too in October...@poorpaws you've created a lovely supportive community! You deserve a relaxing day with DDogs and DP. How's DDog coping with the weather, it's still a
bit stormy round these parts.

congrats @thenewaveragebear1983 - that is an incredible loss. I didn't mean to challenge your (or anyone's!!!) diet by the way, I was genuinely curious as I am scared of being hungry. I'm still eating like i was when I was a breastfeeding long distance runner and I'm doing neither these days...

Don't beat yourself up @Sedgwick! That's 17 more days than not doing it. You know if it works. A naturopath (remember them from the 90s?) once told me that if you are going to drink alcohol then gin is the best of a bad lot. 🍸

triplecheeese · 21/09/2023 21:40

@thenewaveragebear1983 i lolled at your description of your office parade 😂 my last office (and indeed all the site visits and externals I worked with) were mostly 20somethings with abs... and me 😂 so there was not a lot of fashion common ground there.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/09/2023 21:47

@triplecheeese thanks, and I didn’t think you were challenging at all! Tbh I am the biggest critic of SW and other diet cults. But I’ve genuinely forgotten how to eat normally. I don’t know if I’m having too much or too little and I don’t lose any weight, ever, because I can’t stick to anything long enough to actually lose anything.I guess one thing you realise doing Sw is that your meals are fine, but the extras cost you dearly. if you’re hungry, you need to add veg in huge quantities to your meals, rather than eat other stuff. The focus is much much less on sweetener and getting as much for your Syns as possible than it used to be. i hear you on the runners diet as well, I was eating like I was running 25 miles a week and I’m probably doing half that. So the week has been really positive and I’m definitely going to stick with it for 6 weeks (that’s my promise to myself) even though in that time I have every weekend with social commitments until Saturday 22nd October 🤦‍♀️ I’m just going to really try hard in the week to stay on track rather than just writing the whole week off.

Lose 7 lbs in 7 weeks

From Monday 25.09.23 (this Monday)
To Monday 13.11.23

Weigh-in Monday morning for 7 weeks (or a weigh-in time to suit you).

Monday 13.11.23 is exactly 6 weeks to Christmas Day so that could be Challenge 2.

Is anyone going to join me? Obviously you can keep your weigh-in weight to yourself if that's more comfortable for you.

I'd love some help, I'm doing my normal yo-yoing and 7 lbs for me would be awesome. I've given you this weekend off too!

It would be great to have a few of us doing this together for support.

OP posts:
Tessisme · 22/09/2023 09:30

I'll join you @poorpaws. I have no idea what weight I am, but will enjoy the weekend you have kindly given me off before I worry about that😆

16:8 definitely works for me and I find it pretty sustainable - except when stuff goes wrong in my life. Then it's 'sod this for a game of soldiers' and out come the biscuits.

Let's catch up with that wagon and jump on before it disappears over the hill🤣

Sedgwick · 22/09/2023 09:50

@triplecheeese thanks, I regained 1lb as a result annoyingly. @thenewaveragebear1983 well done, glad SW is helping.

I am eating platefuls of spinach (200 gr servings), leafy greens, roast cauliflower and mushrooms most evenings with a salmon fillet or chicken breast. Very filling. If I am hungry before dinner I have some cold chicken or a poached egg. Any more food than this and I don’t lose weight. I don’t exercise. Thinking when I lose 10 lbs more I will get on the cross trainer.

@poorpaws I will join you in the 7/7 plan.

PinkArt · 22/09/2023 10:58

I've joined the 2 stones off by Christmas thread, so if I've even vaguely on track with that I should hit 7 in 7 too, so count me in @poorpaws.
17'13 today, so two pounds off. Being back in the 17s again is the bigger win though as I was so horrified a couple of years back when I discovered I was in the 18s (thanks lockdown 3) that I vowed never again. I'm mortified that never again happened so this time it's really never, ever again.
I'm hopeful starting back at a company I've worked with before in about a month, so I'd love to have had a decent loss before that.

Zebracat · 22/09/2023 11:14

Oh yes please @poorpaws . But I’m going away for a week on Saturday, albeit with my healthy eating daughter. I’ve been bemoaning my lack of progress then realised that when I was losing weight, I had 1 treat at the weekend, but they have tiptoed back in. Yesterday I had an iced spiced bun, a solero and 2 chocolate biscuits. I’m an intelligent woman, how did I not make the connection? And still that voice in my head saying but I get so hungry…

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/09/2023 11:30

Yes I’m in @poorpaws
1lb a week is a good amount and it adds up, I think when we hope for/chase more than that it becomes self defeating.
and I refuse to accept that it will be 6 weeks to Christmas. I’m still waiting for the summer!!

poorpaws · 22/09/2023 12:29

@Tessisme
@Sedgwick
@PinkArt
@Zebracat
@thenewaveragebear1983

I've written your names down in my book so there are no excuses and no going back..six of us so far (inc me) so that's a good start. I'm sure others will join soon. Let's see if we can make 7 weeks work for us and make a difference.

OP posts:
triplecheeese · 22/09/2023 20:48

Yes i'm on the 7 in 7 wagon train! This will look like:

  • exercise 4x per week (going to have to get up even earlier)
  • sensible snacks
  • healthy packed lunches and balanced family evening meals...which means...
  • MEAL PREP AND PLANNING (my nemesis)
  • eating window 7am-7pm

looks gentle right...?

birthday parties Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday so Monday will be virtuous as anything!

poorpaws · 22/09/2023 21:33

@triplecheeese you are added to my list so no escape 👀

OP posts:
Theredjellybean · 23/09/2023 06:59

Add me in too please @poorpaws
It's my birthday today ..I have been out for dinner this week, but ordered well...sadly the cocktails rather got to me .
Out again tonight and tomorrow..oh dear...
I'd better start on Monday.
I might go to weighing myself in lbs...

poorpaws · 23/09/2023 07:42

@Theredjellybean Happy Birthday 🎂 🎉🍾🥳. I hope you have a lovely day. Good thing I've given all the 7/7-ers this weekend off.

You are added, on Monday we will all start. This time we are all going to do it, no exceptions, no excuses.😁

OP posts:
gluttonousgoldbug · 23/09/2023 08:26

Me too @poorpaws another 7 pounds would be lovely.

I'm off on a shopping spree today to get some new clothes as all my winter things are still a 22 and I'm now an 18. Plus my daughter needs some new bits and bobs.

I'm feeling optimistic. I've not enjoyed shopping for a long time since I just looked enormous in everything so I'm hoping it will be more fun this time round, despite a long way to go!

poorpaws · 23/09/2023 08:32

@gluttonousgoldbug you're added to my list.

Have a lovely day out, I hope you find some fantastic clothes and very well done on getting to size 18. I need to know what you bought and that you feel fabulous in them.

OP posts:
Theredjellybean · 23/09/2023 10:44

@gluttonousgoldbug ...that is amazing 22 - 18 is fantastic
while i appreciate you have more you want to lose, i hope you can recognise that an 18 is a much easier size to shop for. You will have a much wider choice of both shops and style...go mad..enjoy !

triplecheeese · 23/09/2023 13:54

Trying to be teachers pet over here 🍎

Parkrun this morning and spin class tomorrow 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🚲

Also i have made a birthday cake without eating any... trying to get ahead of the game!

gluttonousgoldbug · 23/09/2023 14:26

@poorpaws alas. It turns out if you take a 10 year old shopping you end up buying them lots and yourself nothing. Perhaps a late night solo trip to the trafford centre is in order...

Sedgwick · 23/09/2023 14:28

@Theredjellybean happy birthday! Have a great weekend.

poorpaws · 23/09/2023 14:51

@gluttonousgoldbug oh nooo that doesn't seem fair when you've done so well. I agree, solo shop is the way to go and I still want to know what you buy for your autumn wardrobe.

@triplecheeese well done to you, good start. I too have been trying to get ahead of the game with a long dog walk and I've just finished a 55 min exercise routine. I do hope we all smash this target and don't fall by the wayside.

OP posts:
triplecheeese · 23/09/2023 15:42

Yes happy birthday @Theredjellybean 🎈 🎂

gluttonousgoldbug · 23/09/2023 16:38

Oops! Happy birthday @Theredjellybean I hope you've had a good one!

Theredjellybean · 24/09/2023 07:17

Thank you everyone.
Dinner was nice last night ..I don't feel I over ate..it was a local restaurant and portions are quite small. But I did have three courses..fish x 2 though ..that must be healthy right ?
I'm supposed to be getting up and going for a run but it's filthy weather again here in north Cornwall

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/09/2023 08:09

Morning all. I had a lovely weekend but I’ve been off plan since 4.30 on Friday! Back on it today. I did however, climb snowdon yesterday which was so fun, a really tough climb in places, and utterly breathtaking at the top- clear skies, cold and just amazing and awe inspiring. It’s made me want to explore more!

food has been ok given the circumstances, friday we had a pub dinner but it wasn’t huge and didn’t have puddings etc or much to drink, yesterday we had a bit more in the way of cereal bars and flapjacks en route and then wine and a ready meal in the evening. And some chocolate. I’m happy to get back on track today though, I can easily pull it back for Thursday weigh in.
