Hello hello hello
Welcome to the September thread:
Our first full month and it is a fresh start all around, lets eat well, move more and get those scales on the run.
DS is starting nursery and I have a lovely dress to fit into for DD christening so there is everything to play for.
I am hoping to amass golden days aplenty and wave goodbye to those lindas FOREVER or until I decide to have another baby

My stats for the month:
SW 11lb6
CW 11lb3
GW 9lb6

Goal for the month - 7lbs off and fit into the dress I have bagged for DDs christening

*best foot forwards! Not food lol oops

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2023 11:14

@Newbornmum yes vent away. That sounds like a really frustrating morning you poor girl. And yes, if it's any consolation, I felt exactly the same as you about my brain and my body when I had my babies. I remember it so clearly even though it was a long time ago now. It is 100% all totally normal. you are not going mad - well not any madder!😚

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2023 11:14

Best food forward is how we all got here in the first place!

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2023 11:15

@Bananas1350 you are wise to take it steady with the gall stones. I know to my cost that losing weight quickly is a trigger. And OMG the pain!

HairsprayBabe · 04/09/2023 11:26

@Newbornmum yes ~"baby brain" is an actual real thing its all caused by bloody hormones apparently it lasts up to 2 years after you have the baby!

@Bananas1350 i never knew that! How terrible, although if you are still in the early days of a diet it is likely water weight so hopefully wont have too much of an impact on you - poor you!

@BitOutOfPractice ah but they are so satisfying to look back at in the end!

Very happy the typos are continuing - best food forward was indeed my downfall 😂

@BitOutOfPractice @HairsprayBabe thank you 💕🌻 - definitely helps a lot to know I'm not alone and it's all normal. The amount of weird symptoms that can be put down to hormones in pregnancy/postpartum blows my mind!

Newbornmum · 04/09/2023 13:22

@Bananas1350 really hope the pain gets sorted out for you asap - I have some issues with chronic pain and it's relentless and very tricky to deal with so I really feel for you! I've heard gallstones are some of the worst pain wise so sending lots of love and support your way 💕🌻

pickledandpuzzled · 04/09/2023 16:46

@Newbornmum I believe our babies' brains are made out of our brains. Console yourself with the idea that he must be brilliant to have left you feeling so much slower on the uptake!

SushiSuave · 04/09/2023 19:52

Hi all, I'm back on track today after about a week of eating terribly and like I'm never going to eat again! Back to work today which helps prevent the snacking. It's just the evenings where I want to eat multiple bags of crisps and biscuits! I'm hoping for a positive week and to be back to 11st 4lb by Sunday. I haven't weighed this week but I'm sure I'll have put on so if I can get back to what I was the week before then I'll feel ok.

TodayForTomorrow · 04/09/2023 20:18

Vent away @Newbornmum . Having a baby definitely changes your brain in strange ways, but most are temporary! Sometimes i get sick of hearing myself moan to my nearest and dearest so threads like these are a great outlet!

Good day for me today. Had a presentation to give that I was worried about but it went well. Food was put on by work today but good options and plenty of fruit on offer as well as the standard biscuits.

Kids finally back at school and nursery tomorrow and DH will be home alone so I am relying on him to get the house properly shipshape for what feels like the first time in weeks.

Earphones on charge ready for gym again tomorrow. As much as getting up early is tough, I love the feeling of coming out of there energised and knowing that it's still only 7.15am.

mushroommummy · 04/09/2023 21:48

Good day for me managed to get 10k steps in & didn’t resort to a chocolate binge when I sat down!!

@SushiSuave that’s my issue too, I really crave sugar/treats in the evenings. Today i went to bed & watched a movie instead. Also helped that I didn’t bring any junk into the house either.

ShellySarah · 04/09/2023 21:57

I got off to a good start but work put pain au chocolat in the kitchen.

TodayForTomorrow · 04/09/2023 22:21

For anyone struggling with cravings, I just want to say that since I've cut out just about all UPF about two weeks ago, I've really found my inner snack monster has gone much quieter. Tonight, kids are in bed and DH is at work and I'm realising i've not gone hunting for food since tea time. I'm a bit of a secret eater so this is v unusual for me.

I do think Chris Van Tulleken is onto something...

Bananas1350 · 05/09/2023 05:58

@TodayForTomorrow i have been telling everyone this. I would write it on a bill board if I could. The food companies add so much sugar that’s why the food tastes so good. It’s addictive.
from what I have read they did tests and sugar is just as bad as drugs and cigarettes in terms of addiction.
i feel so much better now I don’t eat junk food. My pains in my hips have gone, I’m sleeping better , my ibs is gone , I am no longer exhausted. I feel like I’m a new person. So many people it’s all me being some new age person but it’s not.
so much research now about sugar and sugar spikes and how cutting it out is better.

Reachforthestars00 · 05/09/2023 07:14

@hairspray yes, Nutracheck is like MFP. I have tried different apps at various times, MFP, WW and FitBit. I really like NC. It works very well for UK supermarkets and restaurants.

BMIwoes · 05/09/2023 09:59

Morning all, day 3 begins and going well so far.

SW 11.11
CW 11.10
GW 9st

Had some leftover rice this morning so made rolls with tuna, cucumber and egg wrapped in seaweed. Very filling and 23g protein, 403 cals. My colleague has made Chinese food to share with the team today so looking forward to that as well, it's a prawn dish so likely to be quite healthy.

Bananas1350 · 05/09/2023 10:04

It’s funny. I’m sat here looking at ur starting weight wishing that was what I was now. 😂. If only I was the weight I was when I first thought I was over weight.

monicascloset · 05/09/2023 10:05

Very poor start from me, but we are limping to the end of the summer holidays so I’ll have more headspace and time for food planning and exercise from tomorrow.

well done everyone!

jessie2023x · 05/09/2023 10:20

Morning all, been a good start to the week. Went for a run last night and a run this morning. Will do some hit workouts after work today and weights. Weigh in is Friday so hope to loose a bit. Tuna salad for lunch, no sauces. Not sure what for tea yet. Have a good day all

TVxhubClaire · 05/09/2023 10:48

hello everyone...

My weekend wasn't good from an exercise or eating perspective but we are at Tuesday and after a reasonable day yesterday with a bit of badminton exercise i weighed in at 12st 9.

I think that's probably down to not drinking enough water after activity last night🤔but at least no weekend increase...

I think I have forgotten all the good things I did during our many months of Slenderista losses....like how did i manage to stop eating bagels and toast....

I plan to have crackers with cheese spread, cup a soup, jelly with strawberries and raspberries and a nectarine for lunch. I am making it through the morning on just a coffee...

mushroommummy · 05/09/2023 15:19

Hi everyone, I am having a very bad mental health day due to the grief I am going through. I was supposed to get up and walk the kids to school instead I drove them there then crawled back into bed. In fact I am still in bed now so no food today so far… maybe that’s a plus.

DH is cooking tonight so it’s likely to be fairly healthy. That’s if I feel like eating. Usually I binge on chocolate and crisps but at the moment I don’t seem to have an appetite at all.

Bananas1350 · 05/09/2023 16:00

@mushroommummy u have to just take it a day at a time. Some days are better than others. Be kind to urself xxxxxxx

beconsistent23 · 05/09/2023 17:16

Would love to join you all. Feeling the Sept reset vibes.
SW 92.5 kg
CW 91.7 kg
GW 10% BW initially so 83.3 kg
September goal - back to the 80s - 89.5 kg

Limonatamum · 05/09/2023 20:22

Limonatamum · 05/09/2023 20:24

@mushroommummy sorry to hear you’re struggling with grief. My husband and I have had a few losses recently and it means food and exercise go on the back burner, be kind to yourself & take one day at a time xxx
