Hello hello hello
Welcome to the September thread:
Our first full month and it is a fresh start all around, lets eat well, move more and get those scales on the run.
DS is starting nursery and I have a lovely dress to fit into for DD christening so there is everything to play for.
I am hoping to amass golden days aplenty and wave goodbye to those lindas FOREVER or until I decide to have another baby

My stats for the month:
SW 11lb6
CW 11lb3
GW 9lb6

Goal for the month - 7lbs off and fit into the dress I have bagged for DDs christening

Hello all, this was just the thread i was looking for, please can i join.
I will admit i am lacking in motivation today as i didn't loose any weight this week and worked out all week and no snacks.
Onward and upwards and i think this thread might help

SW Jan 23 14st 13 lbs
CW 12 stones 8 lbs
GW 11 stone 0 lbs
Mini GW end of Sept 12 stone 0lb

Good luck everyone

Hi Jessie, you've done great this year! How did you do it?

monicascloset · 01/09/2023 20:00

Hello, could I join too please.

I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and need some motivation to get back to my happy weight.

SW 11st
CW 11st
GW 9st 8ish

I’ve gained half a stone so far this year.

The children going back to school will mean I can go for longer walks and a run if I want. I tend to eat less when they aren’t here too.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/09/2023 20:51

Of course @monicascloset you are now officially a Slenderista!

Limonatamum · 01/09/2023 21:11

@monicascloset our SW/GW are the same pretty much - we’ve got this!

monicascloset · 01/09/2023 21:33

Thank you @BitOutOfPractice looking forward to joining in and making progress this month.

@Limonatamum that’s great. I’m sure we’ll both get there.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/09/2023 21:56

its official. You know that. It’s the Best Thread on Mumsnet™️

ShellySarah · 01/09/2023 23:21

BitOutOfPractice · 01/09/2023 10:06

That’s all it takes isn’t it @ShellySarah a couple of pounds here and there! It’s so disheartening. But you are now in the right place to get going!

It is so easy to undo. I'd barely notice it creeping back on until I noticed my summer clothes didn't fit well and were too tight.

OK so

SW - 11 stone
GW - under 10 st don't care where.

No idea how to get there. I ate out tonight but chose something healthy and 500 calories or so.

pixienewbie · 02/09/2023 08:14

Please can I join. I weigh more than I ever have. Last year I was at least a stone less when finishing maternity leave so can't even use the baby as an excuse.
CW: 11st 10lb
GW: 9st 10lb

Not sure of my plan other than eat less crap. Intrigued by fasting but might just start with calorie counting and see how I get on.

Start a new job Monday and which I wasn't this big starting 😞

Bananas1350 · 02/09/2023 08:48

I’m in. Mine is slightly different as I’m losing weight due to gallstones. But obviously needed to loose weight anyway. My challenge will be me not loosing weight too fast. As the first week on this diet I lost 8 pounds. So too much on one go.

sw - 13stone 1
cw - 12 stone 6
gw- anything less than 11 stone. But has to get my bmi down to under 30 incase I need an operation

Negative Nancy alert l!

I am feeling really despair-y at the moment. It seems so impossible. I have never successfully lost a significant amount of weight since I was at university when all I had to think about was myself.

Scales haven't budged since last week despite cutting out all snacking, bread, pasta and avoiding UPF. I'm tracking calories and measuring, but I think I've been overdoing the cheese so didn't have any yesterday.

Exercise this week has been awful. End of last week, I did two spin classes and swam but DH got pulled in for overtime so I had to cancel the sessions I had booked this week and I've now been on my own with the kids (3&6) since Thursday until Monday when I am back in work.

I'm going to read the last thread to try and get me out of this slump!

jessie2023x · 02/09/2023 11:32

I think it’s hard at first to find what works for you and then it’s like something clicks and that’s it.
I did find exercise hard at fist as my boobs are huge but found a great sports bra and now I will even go out running.
@Rubyruby2222 thank you, at first it was just eating more of the right foods. Now I fast between 7pm and noon, I will have a salad at lunch and a hello fresh meal that’s under 650 calories for dinner, no snacking in between, this has been working so far.
I will however eat normal on the weekend. So a sandwich for dinner and then a dinner of whatever i fancy. Think I might have to cut this and the wine out lol

A small loss despite holiday week - woo ill
take that! Target is to lose another 4 kilos this month. Definitely slower to lose this time I’ve found (post kids, age 37) than the old days!! I guess it’s a long haul plan!!

monicascloset · 02/09/2023 13:11

Not a strong start from me. I genuinely forgot I was supposed to be eating better. Habits are hard to break. Going to go for a long walk now to kick start the month.

monicascloset · 02/09/2023 13:13

My experience earlier in the year was that hitting the exercise hard was a mistake. The coritsol made me put weight on instead of losing it. Has anyone else found this?

Annoyingnamechangerperson · 02/09/2023 14:01

I’ve started today I’m doing the results plan it’s expensive but just seems to fit in with my lifestyle better. I’m a single mum and work full time my children both have ASD so by the time I’ve prepared their (very bland) meals I don’t want to start something for myself.
Im on a 750-1000 calorie plan. I will check in with my results next week. Good luck everyone

The first time around, no. I built muscle and it made my body looked leaner and I lost lots of weight.

FireflyGirl · 02/09/2023 19:16

Whoops, I've had a busy few days making the most of the remaining holidays and forgot to update!

I've been making good choices (including not having treats when I buy them for the DC) and had a calorie deficit every day, although I haven't made it back to the gym again yet.

I'm hopeful for a good loss this week after last week's gain.

B: Shreddies with almond milk
L: chicken and rice salad
D: Nando chicken and rice with salad
S: Mint thins

TodayForTomorrow · 02/09/2023 19:34

Pulled myself out of my mood a bit and decided to hit the gym as soon as DH came home at 4.30pm, so I've done about 45 minutes of inclne walking and weights, followed by a 20 min swim.

I've come in hust over calories and I'm realising that I am using too much butter in cooking (scrambled egg, brussels sprouts.

I'm also starting TOTM so that explains the bad attitude!

BMIwoes · 02/09/2023 20:00

I've just got back from my holiday and will be weighing and starting tomorrow!

BMIwoes · 03/09/2023 10:43

OK, so weighed today.

SW 11 St 11lbs
GW 9 St 0 lbs

Let's do this!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/09/2023 10:56

@TodayForTomorrow I'm glad you’ve managed to get yourself going. Every time I’m in a foul mood for no reason I’m puzzled and assume it’s because everyone else is annoying. Then I come on 2 days later and I clock on why I was in a bad mood. You’d think, at my age, I’d have worked it out wouldn’t you? But no, it’s a surprise every month! 🙄

hello to the new people!

my weekend hasn’t been golden. But it’s not been a disaster either. It’s been bronze, maybe pushing a silver.

AWafferthinmint · 03/09/2023 11:47

Hi, can I please join? Got back from holidays last Monday and am struggling to fit back into my work uniform!
SW:13 stone 3
CW: 13 stone 3
GW: 10 stone 7

Writing it down makes me realise I have a loooong way to go.

Newbornmum · 03/09/2023 12:27

@BitOutOfPractice that's exactly where I am I reckon... Bronze. Firmly in the bronze category and crossing my fingers tightly! 😳🤞

Newbornmum · 03/09/2023 12:31

@TodayForTomorrow I'm feeling a bit of a negative Nancy too at the moment. Some days I think it's going OK, then I look at myself and think eeeek progress seems so slow. I don't have any advice really just solidarity 🌻

BitOutOfPractice · 03/09/2023 14:13

I’m waiting for that moment when I put something on and it Feels looser. Not even loose. Just looser would do. I’m 10lbs down and no Sign of that yet.
