Hello hello hello
Welcome to the September thread:
Our first full month and it is a fresh start all around, lets eat well, move more and get those scales on the run.
DS is starting nursery and I have a lovely dress to fit into for DD christening so there is everything to play for.
I am hoping to amass golden days aplenty and wave goodbye to those lindas FOREVER or until I decide to have another baby

My stats for the month:
SW 11lb6
CW 11lb3
GW 9lb6

Goal for the month - 7lbs off and fit into the dress I have bagged for DDs christening

@BitOutOfPractice have you taken measurements? I don't normally but I am going to do it today and try to stick to it monthly.

I've taken progress pictures previously which are really interesting but currently over my previous start weight so I'm not doing them again until I've made the sort of progress you have! 😳

mushroommummy · 03/09/2023 14:40

Hi I will join you all. I am now the heaviest I’ve ever been at 13.9. It’s been the year from hell & a combo of 2 very close deaths & starting sertraline has seen me put on 2stone in 8 months!!

nothing fits me & I feel so bloated & horrible. I find the best way for me to lose weight is with low carb & fasting.

1st goal will be 12
2nd goal 11 (if I ever get there, that will be enough I think)

BitOutOfPractice · 03/09/2023 16:22

sorry to hear you’ve had a rough run of itv@mushroommummy. But you’ve come to the right place now. Best thread on mn ™️

BitOutOfPractice · 03/09/2023 16:23

I’ve not taken measurements no. And theres No way I will be taking a picture 😱😱😱😱

Chardonnay73 · 03/09/2023 16:31

I’m here. Currently driving through France to get the overnight ferry home. I’m 50% wine and 50% cheese after a week visiting family. I have to get a grip. Looked awful in family photos. Feel sluggish. Generally urgh. And furious with myself that I’m back here. Again. 🙄
Gosh, that was cathartic….

BitOutOfPractice · 03/09/2023 16:35

i need you back to bolster my flagging enthusiasm!

Hyppogriff · 03/09/2023 17:16

Sounds like maybe we’re all entering the danger zone where need to keep going and push through!!! I had a golden day yesterday but it was boring as hell!!

Newbornmum · 03/09/2023 17:26

@mumushroommummy that sounds like a seriously rough time. Sorry it sounds like it's been so awful. Welcome to the group 🌻

SaltySeaCat · 03/09/2023 17:37

Hello I’d like to join too please!
SW 12 stone 7 (mid May 23)
CW 11 stone
TW 9 stone 6
I've put on 4 pounds during the last week on holiday, but hopefully it’s mainly water weight. I was 10 stone 10 just before we went 😥
I’d love to lose 7 pounds by the end of September and be 10 stone 7. 10 stone 6 would put me at the top of the normal weight category…

mushroommummy · 03/09/2023 23:18

@Newbornmum & @BitOutOfPractice yes it’s been tough. Thank you both so much xx

AutumnNymph · 04/09/2023 04:30

Am back from holidays and ready for a golden Sept. Stepped on the scales this morning and was so chuffed to see I have lost half a kilo. This has never happened after a holiday and am so happy.

Am quite close to goal weight now.

sw 69 kgs
CW 55.8 kgs
GW 52 kgs.

As am close to goal I am aiming for a slow and steady kg off in Sept.
We have got this everyone!

Newbornmum · 04/09/2023 07:08

Morning everyone,

Today is my weigh day but I'm feeling really nervous about it. I don't think I've done too badly this week at all but had a few days with family visiting where I've had to go with the flow as far as food goes and a carby day yesterday. Don't want to risk feeling awful all day over (hopefully) water retention etc especially because I'm feeling so fragile with the lack of sleep. Eeeek!

On the plus side, have managed to drag myself out of bed and am gearing up to take DS out for his carrier walk before it gets too hot. Hopefully the walk will get me in a more positive mood. Definitely feel like I got out of the wrong side of the bed today! Hope everyone has a lovely and successful day 🌻💕

Made it to the gym this morning but earphones are dead which is so annoying.

1lb off.

Reachforthestars00 · 04/09/2023 07:12

Good morning Slenderistas. May I join you? I started a health kick last week, after returning from holiday and having a shock on the scales (80kgs - 29.9 BMI). I'm in my late 40s and have piled on weight this year for no reason other than age. I've signed up to Nutracheck and am loving it. Major target is not to snack in the evening. Pleased to report that I lost 3kgs last week. Some of that might have been my jeans, but I'm taking it as motivation! My first target is 10% loss - so aiming for 72kgs. So far so good. I need to keep it up and make new healthy habits.

@Hyppogriff that's where I feel like I am! Trying hard today to stay/get positive and back in the right mindset! 😣 Well done on the good day yesterday 🌻

Congrats on the loss 😊

Dead headphones at the gym are the stuff of nightmares... You have my sympathies! 🌻

Hello if you don't mind me asking how long did that take you and how did you do it?

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2023 08:36

Come on @Newbornmum you’ve got this! A stomp round the park in the sunshine is a cure for all ills!

@TodayForTomorrow i did a headphoneless run last week too. Twice as hard as usual.

@Reachforthestars00 i have had the same shock. Ugh it’s so much harder when you’re not in the first flush of youth

@AutumnNymph a loss after a holiday you say? That’s a Brucie bonus!

pickledandpuzzled · 04/09/2023 08:48

Morning all! I'm back from holidays where I've been indulgent and restrained in turns...

It's good to be back to an environment I can control better!

I'm up a linda or so, but will probably be back at target on official weigh day Wednesday!

HairsprayBabe · 04/09/2023 09:49

Hello hello,
Happy Monday, I didn't weigh in over the weekend but very happily this morning I'm on 11.1 - confetti and trumpets all round. It is due to be BOILING here today which always puts me off my food.
DH has had his pallet guard removed after his surgery and after seeing the wound I never want to eat again - boak

Welcome newbies,
@AWafferthinmint texcellent username
@Reachforthestars00 - is nutracheck like my fitness pal?
@mushroommummy so sorry for your losses
@SaltySeaCat ooh we are similar weights I love a diet twin
@pixienewbie fasting can be as easy as not having breakfast and having nothing after dinner just keeps all your calories to one "eating slot" in the day
@Bananas1350 is that a health thing not losing too much in one go or is it just general diet advice?
I have missed someone I am sure and I am sorry :/

@BitOutOfPractice you could always take photos and never ever show anyone. I always regret not having at least one picture of me at my biggest, I love a transformation photo

@AutumnNymph amazing, i often find i either lose or sts after a hol its all the walking for me!

@HairsprayBabe its a medical thing. U can increase the gallstones by loosing weight too fast. But it’s hard as it scary to put things in ur mouth when u know it may hurt. But weight loss is weight loss I suppose. I can feel I have lost weight already from last week. Just hoping it won’t be too much. Oh the irony huh

BitOutOfPractice · 04/09/2023 10:39

Im the one who can’t bear to look at the pics! 😬

BMIwoes · 04/09/2023 10:41

Morning, I am doing daily weigh ins as I find it helps me keep on track.

SW 11.11
CW 11.10
GW 9 St

Yesterday was a good day (first days always are!), 1532 cals, 12.5k steps which included a 20 min jog, no alcohol. I expect that I will drop a couple of pounds fairly quickly as I've been on hols drinking wine and so probs have a bit of water retention. I'm not cutting carbs just trying to limit cals, increase protein and fibre.

Bananas1350 · 04/09/2023 10:41

Oh me too. But when this is done I will take all the pictures I can. I have always given up before. But becuase of the gallstones I can’t. So I will win this time.

Newbornmum · 04/09/2023 10:52

@BitOutOfPractice thank you 🌻Think I might need another walk round the park to cheer me up now! Not having the best morning lol

Just busted a gut trying to get DS to rhyme time to arrive and realise the finish time was half ten not the start time. I've been multiple times before - my memory seems to have deteriorated worryingly postpartum! DS seems to now hate being in his pram and screamed all the way back at which point I got very upset whilst failing to get the pram into the house to eventually discover I'd put the brake on (literally seconds before)!

Did anyone else lose their memory (hopefully temporarily) postpartum?

Currently also feeling irrationally annoyed at DH that he gets this beautiful little baby boy without any of the crazy body changes that come along with it so hiding out in the nursery and taking some deep breaths until I can trust myself not to tell him off about it (again totally irrationally) 😳

That wasn't really weight loss related sorry but thanks slenderistas for the space to vent - hope you don't mind. Maybe I'll try a little workout to get some endorphins going if DS will nap a bit. Think I need them today! I know I'll be able to handle everything better when I just feel a bit more comfortable in my own skin again so best food forwards!
