@leilani83 tanqueray Seville alcohol free gin is my favourite.

I’m plodding along, really noticing that I just can’t eat large portions anymore. I’m 35lb down since April and want to lose 6-7lb more then maintain. I started a new job recently and feel so much more confident in myself. Also I feel like it’s a reset as they only know me at this weight if that makes sense?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 23/09/2023 17:21

Has anyone recently come to the end of their 6 months with Juniper? I had to do a consultation the other day and they want me to send in photos. I'm panicking that I've done well and they'll say I don't need it anymoreC which is really not true 😭

Just breathe out and take from unflattering angle! Grin

@leilani83 I was (am?) an alcoholic, or at least had a high functioning dependency. My glasses of wine + snacks in the evenings was my form of self care. O cut the cravings almost over night and I wonder how much was to do with insulin resistance, ie craving sugar + carby snacks (and the artificial happiness from the alcohol). And of course I was motivated not to drink because the huge investment that O is.
But before O I had successfully managed to cut down some, and my GP had some good suggestions, ie try to have more nights without alcohol than with in a week, drink non alcoholic stuff in a nice glass, and dilute cave with low cal lemonade at parties.
This experience has made me take a long hard look at my priorities and how I cope with stress. I definitely need to do more things that benefit me, and not do so much for others.

In other news I bought a size 12 dress today (!) but the crepey neck skin is very, very real. Oh well. Small price to pay.

P.S: Am I bonkers for toying with the idea it would be fun to meet up at some stage? I feel so supported by this group on this very personal journey that I have chosen not to share with anyone irl.

liz4change · 24/09/2023 07:45

@Zempy definitely go through your wardrobe and steel yourself to try stuff on, especially clothes with fixed waistbands like jeans and tailored skirts/trousers. If you've been wearing stretchy clothes and buying on the big side it's much less noticeable. You might also want to check your bra fitting as your cup/band size has probably shifted

I am 5'5 and have lost a similar amount of weight, some people commented that i look different though I think that's partly due to finally finding a hairdresser I like.

@TheWayOfTheWorld Let us know how it goes. I just did my renewal at 6 mo and they didn’t ask anything except whether I’m ok with 0.5 (😒) and that was that. I’m so scared though to switch because of the photos. I don’t look obese anymore but I’ll gain it back if I stop now.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 24/09/2023 09:00

@KateWick this is my fear - as I have lost quite a bit of weight but I'm still in the overweight BMI...

Zempy · 24/09/2023 09:58

Thanks @liz4change .

Funnily enough, I tried on a couple of dresses yesterday that I thought would look hideous but they are very nearly almost there! So I do look different. I am still wearing size 16 jeans with the arse all baggy. I need to gather up the energy to sort through it all.

liz4change · 24/09/2023 10:22

@Zempy go for it. I have been regularly trying on a pair of trousers which I like but for the last 2 years have been distinctly on the tight side/more recently couldn't do up at all. You've likely gone down a couple of jeans sizes. Maybe treat yourself to a new pair, if from eg H&M or Uniqlo doesn't have to break the bank. Or a new underwear set?

I'm also menopausal so very aware that whereas until a couple of years ago i put weight on all over these days it all goes on my belly. So aware that it's not just the size label but cut that matters.

I'm trying in parallel to work on well-being, self care and self image, reminding myself that my friends and family love me for who I am and not my dress size. Plus wearing what suits you. I regret spending too much of my 20s and 30s telling myself I was too this or too that to wear x (though recognising that certain fashions eg 2000s low rise skinny jeans/tailored or lycra bandage dresses/beige court shoes are just hideous on me)

I'm currently in the zone where clothes I've had for 5-10 years now fit better/properly/fit at all and I'm determined to enjoy wearing them now.

liz4change · 24/09/2023 10:24

@TheWayOfTheWorld I second the suggestion of as unflattering an angle as you can manage

LolaLopez78 · 24/09/2023 13:52

Has anybody been able to order 1mg Wegovy from Health Express since it was released?

My first order of Ozempic was with them and they let you select the delivery date so I could choose a Saturday when I know I’ll be home.

QuickMeds sent Ozempic via tracked so you can’t pick the date and in my area they now automatically try to redeliver the next day - there’s no option to pick up from the sorting office anymore. After attempt 2 the sorting office only opens 8am-10am, so I still wouldn’t be able to collect for the same reason I missed the deliveries - I’m at work!

KateWick · 25/09/2023 07:24

Does anyone know if my unopened pens will get ruined if they aren’t refrigerated for a week? I’m moving house and between car/flight/hotel/ferry/car/hotel 2 won’t be able to keep them properly stored for a week.

AndSoFinally · 25/09/2023 20:23

They won't be ruined but the 56 days you have to use them up in will start if they get to room temp

Karmakamelion · 28/09/2023 10:24

Hi has anyone found that the tiredness is worse on wergovy. I'm on 1 mg and I was on the same with oz but am drained on the wergovy. Any tips or supplements that anyone can recommend . TIA

nebulae · 28/09/2023 11:30

@Karmakamelion Yes! I was on 1mg ozempic, switched to 1mg wegovy (first injection on Sunday) and my tiredness has been markedly worse. I'm absolutely exhausted in the evenings, so tired I can barely drag myself round the house. OK during the day though. I'm hoping it'll settle as my body adjusts.

On the flip side, having plateaued for several weeks I'm losing weight again, 3lbs since the weekend.

RunningAndSinging · 28/09/2023 13:12

Oh no! I am due my first Wegovy next week. Don’t want to feel more tired. I thought it was exactly the same?

Prettybubblesintheair · 28/09/2023 18:14

How are you all getting it?!

nebulae · 28/09/2023 18:45

@RunningAndSinging I'm not sure if there are differences between oz and weg, hopefully someone far cleverer than me will come along and explain. I wouldn't let it put you off. I expect it'll be temporary.

@Prettybubblesintheair Most of us are getting it from Quickmeds I think.

It's exactly the same molecule. Ozempic was approved for the treatment of diabetes, and then Novo got approval to market it for weight loss under the name Wegovy with its own dosing schedule.

Karmakamelion · 28/09/2023 21:51

Yes it is supposedly exactly the same but honestly I'm wading through treacle at the moment. I'm going to try and drink more water and increase my protein intake I think. Not sure if it's cause and effect but I'm also feeling down and irritable

leilani83 · 29/09/2023 09:30

Just taken my first dose of Wegovy - fingers crossed for some results as I've actually gained 1.5kg or so in the last few weeks on 0.25mg.

Starting with a 0.5mg dose for a couple of weeks and then moving to 1mg. Want to reach my target weight by Christmas!

Poppie1234 · 29/09/2023 16:35

Has anyone suffered from backache whilst taking Ozempic? I took my last dose on Tuesday, and since then have been suffering from back pain located in my left kidney area 😢

Did you have any appetite suppression at all on 0.25mg? I went on 0.5mg recently and didn't notice much change, but 0.25 really worked for me and I lost a lot of weight on it.

It did initially when I first started but not so much when I dialled down. I can definitely feel the difference after today's 0.5mg.

CornforthWhite · 29/09/2023 18:48

Do they release pens on a Saturday? I’ve had no luck these past few days. Ugh.
