Has anyone tried Trulicity?

Peridot1 · 10/09/2023 10:08

@Athena51 - hope you get some. I’m not sure any of the suppliers release at the weekend.

@Teddypops - I’m not sure Trulicity is available in the UK. With regard to changing the frequency of your dosages of Wegovy would you not be better using the medication as directed and knowing it’s working as it should for the length of time it’s supposed to? They have a half life of seven days so start to wane after about 3 days. At 7days you have half the dose still in your system. If you stretch that to 9 days you have even less left in your system. I would think stretching your dose to 9 days may seem to save you money short term but if you are not taking it as it’s designed to be taken it won’t work as well as you may end up on it for longer.

Teddypops · 10/09/2023 10:16

Thanks @Peridot1

I did find Trulicity available whilst looking for Ozempic.

Peridot1 · 10/09/2023 10:21

@Teddypops - really? That’s interesting. Hopefully it will alleviate some of the pressure on Ozempic and mean those prescribed it for diabetes can get it more easily.

Teddypops · 10/09/2023 10:49

Yep, but only in one place. Somewhere which also sells Ozempic Wegovy etc but are out of stock (apart from starting doses).

Do you know anything about it? Was thinking it could be a good alternative. I've not had any side effects with Ozempic so maybe it could work.

Peridot1 · 10/09/2023 10:55

@Teddypops - no I’m afraid I don’t know anything about it. Just have heard about it as being in the same vein as Oz/Mounjaro etc.

Peridot1 · 10/09/2023 10:57

@Teddypops - just had a quick google. It’s a dulaglutide as opposed to Oz/Wegovy which are semaglutide. If you look up dulaglutide versus semaglutide there seems to be a lot of info.

Teddypops · 10/09/2023 12:17

Thank you @Peridot1 I shall continue with some research and try every 1 & 6 pm on Quick meds

AndSoFinally · 11/09/2023 17:24

Interesting. Wonder if everywhere is doing this?!

notapizzaeater · 11/09/2023 17:57

Just this second managed to get a 1.7 pen on quick meds

KateWick · 11/09/2023 18:04

Saw a message from QM but it was deleted before I got to it so likely out of stock? I don’t know but haven’t managed to get any Wegovy yet.

juniper shipped a 0.5 pen today. With this I’ll have enough to get me through the end of the year and Wegovy will hopefully be more stable by then (hahahaha famous last words).

also tried to switch it up/boost a bit today by changing the injection to my abdomen so fingers crossed.

Yay! Me too Grin

Athena51 · 11/09/2023 18:16

Managed to get Wegovy from QuickMeds today, I have one Ozempic pen left so I'm sorted for a bit.

liz4change · 12/09/2023 08:47

I'm 3 and a half months in and due to stock issues remain on a 0.5 dose my question is at what point did people experience a plateau? I suspect that the main issue for me has been my step count dropping a bit (closer to 12,000 last week than the 15,000-16,000 I'd been keeping up over the summer and although am drinking a lot less wine it's still quite a bit.

I've gone from obese to overweight and have about 6kg to go to get to the top end of normal BMI, trying to work out whether the constant stress I hear from people here trying to secure 1mg is worth it.

Peridot1 · 12/09/2023 08:59

Well done those who got 1.7 from Quick Meds. I’m holding off trying for a couple of weeks.

@liz4change - it’s incredibly hard to say really. Everyone reacts differently. You are still on quite a low dose. If you know other factors could be affecting your loss I’d try to address them first and see if that helps. Stock issues seem to be improving and you are maybe at a good time to switch over to Wegovy.

SemaglutideSideEffects · 12/09/2023 10:00

Name changed for this but I am regular on here. I am wondering if Ozempic/Wegovy is making me anxious. I am considering stopping for a bit to see if it helps. Anyone else think their mental health may be affected?

I haven't noticed anything personally but I know there have been some media reports about some users of ozempic experiencing depression and suicidal thoughts although as far as I'm aware this is anecdotal data only at this stage.

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 12/09/2023 10:52

I've been off it for about 6 weeks now, had some health issues that may or may not be attributed to oz usage. Bit annoying really cause I have an unused 1mg pen still! I've continued to lose but slower than whilst I was on it, surprisingly not that much hungrier than before either.

Movinghouseatlast · 12/09/2023 11:13

I have now been on .5mg with Manual for 5 months. I have plateaued- I didn't lose anything for 6 weeks, now losing half a pound a week. It's so frustrating!

I have a spare .5 pen so I was thinking of using it to take 1mg a week for a month. But after that I'd have to go back to .5mg as can't afford £500 a month. Is that a good idea? Or should I do .75 instead?

I don't know how to get Wegovy. Would I have to start at the low dose again if I can find it? Thank you!

Peridot1 · 12/09/2023 12:04

@SemaglutideSideEffects - for some people it does seem to be linked to anxiety and depression so I think I would come off it for a few months and see if your mood improves. I don’t think it’s worth risking to stay on it. Mental health is too important.

@Movinghouseatlast - which supplier did you use for Ozempic? If they are doing Wegovy they may let you move to the equivalent dose. Or find a Wegovy supplier and tell them you have been on Ozempic - you could send them a picture of your box with your name on etc. I think it’s worth trying to move across to Wegovy because that is the one aimed and market at weight loss whereas Ozempic is for diabetes and suspect suppliers who are selling it off label won’t be able to do that for much longer.

polopolopolopoo · 12/09/2023 12:21

Question for those who have started Wegovy.

I'm on 30 clicks of Oz which is working very well for me, any more and I get bad side effects but any less and I plateau.

What's the deal with the Wegovy pens, can you use clicks?

polopolopolopoo · 12/09/2023 12:23

I should add, 30 clicks is about .4 mg and I've been on it for 6 months

RunningAndSinging · 12/09/2023 12:44

The amounts and concentrations in Wegovy are different from Ozempic and the different size Wegovy pens are different from each other. I can’t see any click charts on line. The pens are very similar to Ozempic though so it could be done. You would have to count clicks for the expected dose in that pen and then work out how many clicks you want.

Kfjsjdbd · 12/09/2023 15:05

@SemaglutideSideEffects I have definitely had occasions of feeling very low for no apparent reason, and assume that it is due to Ozempic. It does tend to lift after a few days.

Zempy · 12/09/2023 16:19

I thought the Wegovy pens were fixed dosage.

So if you ordered 1mg you got 4x 1mg pens and couldn’t deviate from that dosage by clicking?

Can’t remember where I read that though!
