I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

just think of the weight that you loose between now and saturday. it may be 2 or 3 pounds. thats 2 or 3 pounds you dont have to loose after your hol.

as far as i know noone has bought me any easter eggs, so i am fine!

RiaisMaLarkin · 23/03/2008 08:58

Hi, please can I join in. I have been doing SW and it's not working. I am spending the Bank Holiday re-reading my WW mags & books and plan to start again on Tuesday (if I can fit it in to this weeks budget)

I haven't read this whole thread but it sounds lke you're all doing well.

smartiejake · 23/03/2008 09:41

Course you can.
Come on in Riaismalarkin.
Have you done ww before?

lizandlulu · 23/03/2008 17:50

hiya riaismalarkin. how much are you looking to loose?

RiaisMaLarkin · 23/03/2008 19:24

thanks. I have done WW before - just at home with the books. I don't like classes. Can't remember how much I lost though.

I have about 5 stone to lose this time

Something has to work for me soon...

lizandlulu · 23/03/2008 19:42

i have to go to a class as if i dont i start to eat like i used to and think 'a little bit wont hurt' and 'who will know'.
if i go to classes, i have to stand there in front of the leader to get weighed and that helps me alot.

i have about 4 stone more to loose after loosing this first stone, so we are in the same boat.

just had half a lindt chocolate bunny though.
god that chocolate is soooo good.

andyrobo237 · 23/03/2008 19:56

I lost 3 lbs this week - which is allwell and good, but I have been ill - started as flu type symptoms, turned into a raging sore throat and cold - and now 10 days on my voice is only just coming back! Still got a nasty cough but at least it doesnt hurt anymore! I basically struggled to eat for a week - so lost weight - but need to make sure I dont put it back on!! Appetite not back right yet - which is good! Going to center Parcs tomorrow, so no weigh in this week!

Keep uo the good work everyone - we will be slim for summer!

lizandlulu · 23/03/2008 20:12

in a magazine i read today, not sure which one, there was a lady who lost 7 stone in 7 months!
every months she took a sideways picture of her to keep her on track.
she was nearly 18 stone and got down to just over 10!

Phatmouse · 23/03/2008 20:20

Hi there,

Just about to sign up for WW online after being pregnant for two years (two different babies of course) 15 month old and a eight week old. I had to loose 4 stone before I even had the first and now need to shift wait for it -

8 Stone

feeling really confident though, just looking at it as one stone at a time and I know that with evey one that comes off I will look and feel 100% better.

lizandlulu · 23/03/2008 20:33

hiya phatmouse. keep with us, we will help you. (after i have finished this chocolate rabbit )

RiaisMaLarkin · 23/03/2008 20:39

Bugger. I have just checked an "ideal weight" chart. Better make that 6 stone. (and that's just inside the maximum for my height)

Oh well. Lets see how it goes

RiaisMaLarkin · 23/03/2008 20:42

Hi andyrobo, we have "met" before on , How long have you been doing WW? Do you find iy better/easier to stick to/more convenient?

lizandlulu · 23/03/2008 20:45

i dont even look at those ideal weight charts. i should be about 9 stone according to them.
even when i lost weight before and was a size 12 i wasnt 9 bloody stone!

chuck it away, best thing for it.

Phatmouse · 23/03/2008 20:51

Right enough if I was paying attention to the weight charts it would be 10 stone i had to loose.

I have been the weight I am aiming for before and was also a size 12 which is slim as far as im concerned, no wobbly bits back then!

andyrobo237 · 23/03/2008 21:05

Ria - yes I ditched the other 'healthy eating plan' - I managed to lose 16 pounds in 9 months!!!!!!! I had dome WW years ago and it worked well - so I thought a change was as good as a rest - so moved over! I have only been doing it for 3 weeks and lost 4lb in total so far - I want to lose another 2 stone by the summer (this summer hopefully not 2009!!!)

RiaisMaLarkin · 23/03/2008 21:24

I have finally read through the whole thread so I found your post andyrobo, TBH I found "the other thing" was inclined to take over my life and if I had anything else to deal with I couldn't cope with the eating (plus some of the ideas - ie smash pizza FGS - are a bit silly and somewhat faddy/obsessive).
This could be the turning point!

I actually agree re "charts", I just checked to see if I was in cloud cuckoo land. All I really want is to be able to wear the size 16/18 clothes I have stashed away - taking up valuable space - that I used to wear YEARS ago (when DS1 was little - he is nearly 11). Stupidly I still thought I was fat. Silly cow. I think 13 stone will be comfortable. So that's 5 to go.

But you seem like a supportive lot, and not afraid of a slip-up (which is good for me). I'm almost looking forward to it

lizandlulu · 24/03/2008 08:59

my slip up was yesterday. i intended to make the rabbit last a week, just having a little bit each day. i eat it all last night.

but at least it is gone and out my system.

going out for the day now, check in later

smartiejake · 24/03/2008 10:33

I don't look at ideal weight charts for me. I am looking at getting my BMI down to a healthy number. i.e. 25.(Its at 29 at the mo) I need to be 10st10lbs for that but lots of the charts say healthy weight is quite a bit less than that for my height. I

I slipped up with chocolate yesterday too. But didn't eat too much and went for long walk with the dog. About to go swimming too.

Even with slip ups I am eating much less than I was and more healthily.

ShortandSweet · 24/03/2008 11:34

Hey all new comers.

I have had a bad few days. On Friday I had an xl whopper with cheese then i was at my mums for dinner yesterday and it wasn't fat free. But i will get back on it today. goog luck e veryone and hope you have a lovely easter.

RiaisMaLarkin · 24/03/2008 13:54

DH has gone to the shops and he is going to get me the newest magazine. I will be "winging it" tomorrow as not had chance to menu plan and organise shopping lists as DS3 has just come out in chicken pox (poor excuse) But it will be a start.

I'll weigh in tomorrow.

RiaisMaLarkin · 25/03/2008 18:31

Hi, just checking in to say I got weighed and put back on 3lb.

But I have started well, despite not being properly planned, and if I stick to my "plan" for the rest of the day I'll be one point over. ANd for me that is pretty impressive! I have had a brisk 25 min walk with the buggy and will try to fit in another brisker 10 before bed, just to level out the 1 point, though I will try to recover that tomorrow.

I'm enjoying myself so far, and made a gorgeous chicken, veg & lentil soup that I think is 1 1/2 points per portion.

lizandlulu · 25/03/2008 19:56

i have just been to weight watchers and have lost half a pound. its better than nothing.especially after the rabbit. i have been good today though and feel motivated for tomorrow. except i cant get to the gym today as my mum let dd go to sleep at 1pm, so she wont go to bed till about 9!!

dont worry ria, tomorrow is another day, like you say, you have to be properly planned which is something i am crap at

Eddas · 25/03/2008 20:05

Hello, i'm going to my first ww meeting tomorrow so can I join this thread, pretty please

Have done ww before about 5 years ago now, pre dc, but I think it'll be much the same. I got to under 11 stone for the first time since I moved out of my parents house This time I want to get to the weight I was when I looked good[deluded]

lizandlulu · 25/03/2008 20:10

hiya eddas, the more the merrier!

Phatmouse · 25/03/2008 21:25

I wanna rabbit, I haven't had any for years and I have a really nice recipe for rabbit pasta, my butcher says he can get me one but it might take a few weeks!

I'm on my second day today and I must say I feel better already, just less sluggish but still as fat as a trucker, quite excited about getting weighed next Monday though.
