I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

Hi all and welcome you new lot!

I will be totally gutted if Im not better for my 30th birthday on Wednesday! Good luck to you all and re the bread nimble is nice as is the small hovis loaf hth.

Hello

Mind if I join you? I've been doing slimming world (yes, I come from the dark side!) but can't stick to it, so am going to join WW and try points for a month.

Can I ask you a couple of questions? I would like to save up some points for the weekends, but can you do that on WW? I've a lot to lose so my points allowance would be 25 a day, if I had for example 20 a day Monday to thursday and had the extra 5 on fridays/sat/sundays would I lose weight that way?

Can I also ask people on the points plan if they tend to buy ready meals etc or cook your own? I normally cook everything from scratch but am thinking I need to start off with ready meals and gain soem knowledge of points before I move on to my own cooking!

jofeb04 · 07/10/2008 16:03

I'm going to my first WW meeting tonight (at 5pm). So worried about what my wieght is, but I really need to loose a lot of wieght, to feel healthier.

Going to start swimming three times a week from tomorrow morning as well.

Hi, can I join you, this is the first time I have tried WW for about 15 years and then I only went a couple of weeks. I have previously done SW but need a change. I have read about the No Count plan and think it could work for me, I do have a few questions though:

Can I use mince lean beef, minced turkey etc?

Is gravy made from granules really free?

Does anyone know how many points drinking chocolate is, not the instant, the proper stuff?

What about laughing cow light, are they free or points?

Hope you can help

hello I lost 2 pounds on my first week which was fine as I did not follow points very strictly and had two parties to attend
think might do kickstart this week

makeminealargeoneplease · 08/10/2008 21:00

Pray do tell...What is kickstart?

sfxmum · 08/10/2008 21:05

it is just reducing your points and sticking to them for two weeks
normally would be 18 just to give you a bounce

Lurkingintheshaddows · 09/10/2008 08:46

Sorry its me again with questions. Are black coffee/tea and diet fizzy drinks zero points on the points plan? I can't find it in my books.

Joined up last night, and think I have got the general idea, and don't think I will starve! Can anyone tell me if I don't feel the need for all my points will my body go into starvation mode? I am allowed 25 a day but can't see that I will need more than 20 most week days.

sfxmum · 09/10/2008 10:50

hi afaik plain tea/ coffee no milk or sugar are zero points as are diet coke and sugar free stuff like that

the point of the points as it were is that you will not starve not feel hungry and have enough nutrients, note the need to include milk or yoghurt or cheese for the calcium etc, there are plenty of zero point foods

and also you can save some weekly so as to get yourself a nice treat or for when you feel you need extra

hope that helps, I found it easy last time I did it and lost steadily every week am hoping it will be the same now

that is fantastic Dior, great feeling

my initial goal is just over a stone which I hope to achieve by Christmas

Lurkingintheshaddows · 09/10/2008 16:38

Thanks guys.

So far today so good, but suprisingly for the amount of times I have eaten today I have been hungry - think I will make a zero points soup for hunger attacks tomorrow, and accept that maybe I do need those extra 5 points!

alpech · 12/10/2008 13:51

Does anyone know how many points are in a bag of curly wurley swirlies?

Lurkingintheshaddows · 13/10/2008 16:59

Hiya - if you post the calories and sat fat I can look it up for you?

fairydust · 14/10/2008 17:00

Hi all,not been on her for a while as I kept loosing the thread and atm seem to be doing well on ww....

In 2 months I have lost 1st 3 lb's which I am soooooooooooooo proud and pleased about .

Im now 2 sizes smaller which is even better and I have around 1 st 7 lbs left that I would like to loose..I sooo want to be about 2 st in total lost by christmas so 11 lb's left to go..May not do it as tbh dropping a point each lower stone is hard work BUT im trying..

I also so want to be at goal by Jan for ds's 2nd birthday, mainly as its gives me a few months grace before dh & I (possibly) start on project 3 .

Looks like everyone is doing well, keep going and I will do my best to keep this thread marked lol!!!

xx
