I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

thanks for advice, have been reading the eat wisely guide to try and motivate myself. Still nervous about weigh in tomorrow though!
Good luck with your weigh ins. Will let you know how mine goes.
Am still umming and arring about whether or not to switch to core or not!

For my breakfast I have shredded wheat(honey and nut) with soya milk. 3 and half points in total and it keeps me going till lunch.

Anyone know the points value in a measure of Vodka?? 25ml??

I only started on tuesday but i can't seem to find it anywhere.

shhhh · 05/09/2008 19:31

1 point per measure..most spirits are except the likes of baileys etc..

PinkPussyCat · 05/09/2008 19:45

Thanks for the breakfast tips... will add those to the shopping list! Going to do The Big Shop on Sunday.

Bought myself a shiny new set of bathroom scales today - digital 'body analyser' or summat... our old rickety ones are getting the heave-ho (I always said they couldn't possibly be accurate ). However I won't be stepping on them until monday morning at the earliest!

Dior - Glad you clarified that one! Was worried you were on the Posh spice diet aiming for a BMI range like that!

mrspitt · 05/09/2008 20:03

Thanks shhhh1

I have been trying to figure out if my usual wine could be swapped for vodka. So, i could probably get more vodka for my points than wine ( i like a very large glass which could mean 4 pts )

Hello all and well done on the losses.
Hello to any newbies. I got back from Cornwall last night BUT I got af so cant really tell how much I gained "phew emotican".
Im starting properly today and doing a big shop tonight. Its my 30th birthday in 4 weeks and would love to have lost 7lbs by then. How much exercise do you all do? I do 2 body attack classes a week and now ds1 starts school and ds2 a drop off playgroup Im going to do another class. Also how many popints in a ryveta orig is it 2 for a point?

Thanks Dior. I will walk ds1 to school (about 15min walk) and then have to walk all the way to ds2 drop off playgroup (about 25mins from school) then do an exercise class and then pick ds2 back up! That should shift the pounds. Ds2 will only be going twice a week thankfully! I really enjoy the body attack classes, shame theyre are in the evenings though. Im going to try an Aerotone class one of the days ds2 is away.
Ive just found a recipe for Courgette soup! We have been given loads, sound really nice.
1kg courgettes
250g pots
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1.5 pints stck
Cream Cheese optional.
Fresh herbs
Serves 4
Fry onions and garlic add cubed spuds and the diced courgettes then the stock bring to boil and simmer for about 3o-40 mins add herbs and cheese before blending. I might try it will cottage cheese.

PinkPussyCat · 08/09/2008 15:18

Hi all, starting weight today is 11st 1lb - I have 1st 10 to lose! Started filling in my points tracker, it's all flooding back now!

Peachespaige - at body attack - sounds scary! What does that involve? I had intended doing a bit of power walking of an evening with friends but they are both on holiday this week - typical. And I've no motivation to do it on my own!

peachespaige · 08/09/2008 16:23

He he. It is brutal! It involves some dance, running, lunges, leg kicks, squats, crunches......the list goes on. But its done to very very loud up-beat music, not at all cheesy. It energises me, its all about the music!

I like the sound of that a lot actually, Peaches! I fancy doing something like that, must have a look locally + see what's available.

Re courgettes - we are growing them in the garden atm there are millions of the buggers! I will def give that soup recipe a go too.

So that's Day One nearly over and still three points to spare! It wasn't so bad. Off to see what I can blow them on....

Dior I forgot about that and had a lovely glass of red wine! But will definitely try to bank some for the weekend, these wee things are good for keeping you going I guess.

Feeling slimmer already (well I'll tell myself that anyway...)

peachespaige · 09/09/2008 14:29

Hi there. Well I made the soup. Tons of the stuff. The 250g of potato is about 2.5/3 points and it will do 4 bowls! I used ww roasted onion cream cheese .5 point for 25g! I even fried the onion and stuff in a tablespoon of oil as it will do 4 lunches, so low in points. It was nice with some chilli added to it.
What are the points in a Maryland choc chip and hazlenut cookie? It doesnt say the sat fat or the weight of the cookie on the pack?
I also fond a nice recipe for courgette chutney, also low in points and courgette gratin, just point the cheese! After that the courgettes should be used!

shhhh · 09/09/2008 14:33

mrspitt, our leader picked on the same issue about wine.! she said she usually had the equivelant of half a pint of wine in her glass . Guess its easily done now we all have gorgeous big glasses..!!!

Like dior, I tend to drink little alcohol during the week and the odd times I drink at wkd I either have vodka or a glass of wine that I sip all night . Dh goes mad, commenting on how warm my wine must be !!

Well I weighed yesterday and I have lost 1 lb so 8lb.7 in total Im aiming for a slimmer me by christmas.. I CAN DO IT..!

I don't exercise, I so have every intention BUT I never seem to have time. DD has just started preschool so my aim is to collect or take her there by walking (only 5 mins away) and prior to collecting or after to go for a walk with ds in his pram...would mean a 30/40 total walk...JUST the weather atm is horrific...

I also struggle at night as I seem to have 101 things to do..Maybe I will find time and maybe I will HAVE to find time when I start slowing with the loss iykiwm...

Hello. I've just spent aages reading through this thread and feel like I know everybody.

I lost 4 stone with WW in 2003 after I had DD but it's crept back on over the last year while I've been living overseas (out of sight of friends and family and within sight of rather a lot of good restaurants).

I booked flights back to the UK last week and am now in a big panic to try to lose as much of it as possible by Christmas (12 weeks).

I started back at WW about 8 weeks ago and lost 3kg (7lb) but then broke two toes and put everything on hold as I was so inactive. I started up again last Thursday and my first weigh-in is this Friday.

Since last Thursday I have gone to the gym every day [hardcore] and have stuck to my points.

I know it will be impossible to lose the whole 3.5 stone that's left (and in fact I think that would be too skinny now) but 2.5 to 3 might just get me back into my UK (winter) clothes - I can't buy any here that are warm enough so it's quite important. Most importantly I don't want my friends and family to gasp and harpoon me when I arrive at Heathrow. So I'm highly motivated.
