I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

Just out of interest, I'm on 22 points at the moment and if I were to eat exactly all the points how much weight could i expect to lose in a week?

I did weightloss resources (the online thing) once and you had to choose if you wanted to lose 2lb, 1lb or 1/2lb per week and it calculated your daily calories accordingly.

sagacious · 23/05/2008 16:33

I started out on 22 points am now down to 19

1st week 4.5 lbs (22 pts)
2nd week 2.5 lbs (19 pts)
3rd week 1.5 lbs (19 pts)
4th week 3 lbs (19 pts)

I do exercise I fair bit (walking mainly but have started going on dc's trampoline for 10 mins) I don't use the activity points for extra food though

mixedmama · 23/05/2008 17:46

I started on 19 points and have just got down to 18.

Mine was like this:

Week 1-2 8lbs (that was for 2 wks)
Week 3 1lb
Week 4 2lb
Week 3 2 lb
Week 6 1 lb

I see a trend forming there. But in 7 weeks my first stone so very pleased. I think a couple of pounds a week is the aim to lose healthilly (sp) isnt it.

Have to re-focus tho... as have not been counting on paper and i would do so much better if i tracked it properly.

mixedmama · 23/05/2008 17:47

I dont count activity points at all as I am scared of gettign them wrong... plus i dont want to use them for food either, just as a bonus, so i pretend they dont exist.

ShortandSweet · 28/05/2008 08:28

Hi Ladies I am back and had a fantastic time. I only put 2lb on so hope to get it off in the next couple of days.

Well done on the loses and welcome to the newbees.

please someone come to my house and knock some sense into me. i have gone completely off the rails. not been to ww for 3 weeks, but that genuinely is because of situations out of my control. but not been following the diet at all.

i have just been eating as i did before.

why oh why am i being like this??????????

i am going to ibiza in 2 weeks and will be wearing a bikini, i will look worse than ever if i dont do something about it

sagacious · 29/05/2008 07:46

Liz you can make a difference in 2 weeks
Get the bikini out and hang it (damn it selotape it!) on the fridge (where you keep the biscuits)

You need to get your're head right and think positive

Good thing : As you've not been following WW for 3 weeks you'll get that lovely water loss boost for this week

Drink lots of water
Follow your points (do a kick start??)
Take care of yourself (mani/pedi start slapping on the fake tan)

Gawn .. you know you want to !

lizandlulu · 29/05/2008 13:06

thanks for that sagacious. i lol at sticking my bikini to the cupboard
i live with parents and mum would go mad if i stuck it to her smeg fridge!!!
today i have had a boots shapers wrap and shapers crisps for dinner and an apricot. i think i have got my head around it.

mixedmama · 29/05/2008 14:26

Hola ladies...

LizandLulu I hang stuff that I want to fit into on the wardrobe so I see it all the time... my fridge has skinny and fatter pics of me so that I can see the results or eating or not eating the forbidden food.

I am not hols until August and hold out no hope for a bikini regardless of weightloss.

Missed WW this week, but know i have been a little bad, so have re-asserted myself to track everything religiously... if I cant track it i aint gonna eat it.

Also, inspired by Fern Britton's weight loss which seems to be down to mostly cycling, invested in an exercise bike from argos and really enjoying working out on it.

mixedmama · 29/05/2008 14:28

Oh and if anyone has their points finder to hand can they please tell me the points for

350 cals
0.6 g sat fat

sagacious · 29/05/2008 15:29

Mixedmama :5 points

lizandlulu · 29/05/2008 15:45

i think i will go for the picture on the fridge, although it may be hard to find a 'skinny' picture!

i want a bike, now the better weather is coming i would like to go out on it at night, but i am a bit scared.
last time a rode a bike was about 8 years ago, i biked to work about one and half miles, and when i got there i couldnt walk. my legs had turned to jelly!

but i h vae been on the bikes in the gym loads and been fine, but the real thing just seems worse.

mixedmama · 29/05/2008 16:43

Sagacious - cheers me dear

sagacious · 30/05/2008 13:28

Ok I'm truly sad
I couldn't get my usual lift (I don't drive)to my WW meeting this morning (friend I go with is on holiday) SO I got up extra early and took the kids with me on the bus (25 mile round trip!!)

Took dc's to a coffee shop for a treat .. they had sticky buns and milkshakes I had (polishes halo) a skinny cappuccino

And I lost 1.5 lb's (making 13lb in total)

Huzzah !

mixedmama · 30/05/2008 16:31

Congrats. I always think about taking the kids, havent yet tho, although one woman at my meeting brings her dog.

lizandlulu · 30/05/2008 17:45

25 mile round trip?????????????

my god woman you are good

Yingers74 · 02/06/2008 21:38

Can i join this thread? Joined weight watchers on saturday, have 2 plus stone weight to lose. Any good tips to help stop the munchies? Is it worth buying the points pedometer?

mixedmama · 03/06/2008 14:20

Diet coke helps get me to my next meal. I have two stone left to lose after losing my first stone (yippee) - you wanna race???

I am a bit gutted about Fern and her gastric band I thought she was such a great example of losing weight with pure hard work and determination, good on her if she felt it was right for her and has made her happier, but was just so pleased to see someone "normal" lose weight IYKWIM.

Weight watchers tonight, missed last week so hoping for a good loss, plus been on my new exercise bike everyday for 30 mins at least and have counted points religiously this week.

ShortandSweet · 03/06/2008 15:54

mixedmama, I thought the same as you. It is cheating when you get the surgery, if only it was that easy for the rest of us.

Been out of it for a while and finding it really hard to get back into it. Can someone given me a big kick up the back side.

Welcome yingers, Diet drinks are good for killing your hunger plus you could make up some free soup and have a bowl when your hungery. Good luck and hope your doing better than me.

Thanks mixed and short for the encouragement! Am sticking to points so far (but have only been doing it for 4 days) but of course keep jumping on the scales and then stupidly get disheartened at not having lost half a stone - doh!

Yes was heartened to see that some things are zero pointers so it does mean that you don't have to starve yourself! I always eat what I cook for the kids and dh so have had to learn to weigh my portion so I can work out those points. A friend of a friend is so into points that she no longer refers to the booklet! Not sure whether that is a good or bad thing!

was saddened about fern's choice as I feel it sends out the wrong message to woman and young girls. Her weight loss is not about a healthier lifestyle it is simply about looking good quickly.
mixed - we can race but lets keep it friendly, no hiding chocolates in my bed or anything like that
keep up the good work ladies, and don't be tempted!
xx

lizandlulu · 03/06/2008 20:54

evening ladies, i have finally been back to ww after my 3 (yes) 3 weeks absence. and i lost....

1 whole pound!!!!!!!!!!!

i am actually quite pleased as i have been quite naughty over this last 3 weeks. not been to the gym or aqua aerobics at all after spraining my ankle and feel rather unfit. but my total weight loss is 17 pounds.

btw, i would rather drink my own piss than diet drinks.
they fizz up in your mouth like you have eaten a ton of sherbert.

not nice at all

Yingers74 · 04/06/2008 17:19

what is the best form of exercise? I did this crazy eye toy fitness game yesterday which was hard work and really tiring but also really boring! So not sure if I will do it again anytime soon! what has worked for others?

lizandlulu · 04/06/2008 21:17

swimming is ment to be the best as it works all the muscles, but any excercise is better than nothing.

mixedmama · 05/06/2008 09:03

lizandlulu - that cracked me up at my desk about the drinking your own piss.

So I went ww on Tuesday and in two weeks lost 1.5 lb. That is cool, but I had tried so much harder than previous weeks and been on the bike every single day so was expecting a bit more.

Am trying the core plan this week, and so far feels a bit weird. Am thinking a little change might give the weight loss abit of a boost - only 7 weeks till my hols so would like to lose half a stone by then which is a pound a week so should be acheivable.

mixedmama · 05/06/2008 09:04

I luuurrrrvvveee swimming, but it is just so difficult to fit it in... it isnt like you can just stop what you are doing for half an hour and go and do it... then there is the washing hair and everything.

Am making a pact with myself to do loads of swimming on hols.
