I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

Well done on that loss O.

I was wondering about acticity too as I've just started working two days and week and it's frantic activity when I'm there. I'mknackered today and didn't have time for lunch, so no lunch + tired = starving.

I'm not expecting a loss tomorrow.

LovesTents · 21/04/2008 21:09

Don't worry Riallyclean, I've had weeks with no loss and a couple of weeks were I went up.
As long as you keep going at it and keep going to your meetings you'll be ok.

In the long run it's not about one weeks weight loss and who knows how much you could lose in the weeks ahead...

I always have a ready meal in the freezer for the days I'm too knackered to cook

lisa34 · 21/04/2008 21:31

Evening ladies - just had my ww meeting and i've lost 4lbs that's 13lb in 10 weeks. I am going to try really hard this week to loose 1lb but i'm due on this week and i find it so hard to stick to a diet - especially when all i want to eat is bread and real butter . Well done everyone - keep up the good work

Riallyclean · 21/04/2008 21:58

well done lisa34.

oregonianabroad · 22/04/2008 12:27

good news, lisa34.

caved in this am and had half a slice of toast with real butter (half teaspoon, so unfair, isn't it?), but god, the taste! I am really realising now that not stuffing myself full of whatever, whenever makes me really appreciate the taste a lo more. Last night I had 2 choc digestives and they have never tasted so nice! I used to just eat half a pack without even noticing.

I love the fact that you can have pretty much anything you want on WW, as long as you have a small portion, and you make up the points somehow (either by exercise or having very low cal meals for the rest of the day). Suits me well.

lizandlulu · 22/04/2008 19:17

evening all, well done lisa, keep it up!

i have just been to ww and have lost another pound, but i have not had my tea, so that accoiunts for the loss. not that i havent been good, but i havent been all that good!! and have just had bacon sandwiches for tea.

oh and a star bar earlier.

i am off work this week as my mum( child carer!)is on holiday, so i have to look after my own child (its not fair)
the temptation is always there and i spend alot more time in the house so get bored easier.

must try harder, must try harder.

BigHotMama · 22/04/2008 22:08

Well done to all the super losers!

I am cutting down on my bread and butter this week, dh reckons I have too many points furing the day and dont have anyleft for evening munchies, so today all I had was:

Breaky 30g Readybrek and a banana
Lunch WW Soup and 1 wholemeal slice no butter
Tea Vegetable stew

Total of 12 points but means I have been able to have me a packet of walkers lites and a flake, and I've still saved around 6 points. need to quickly lose some weight before weigh in Thursday as had a curry Sunday night and am feeling very guilty, so yes could be a good job there's not money riding on it!

Off to do 50 sit ups before bedtime

Good luck everyone!

Riallyclean · 22/04/2008 23:32

sounds in control, though don't make yourself feel denied BHM. (lubky you having a flake)

wel done on the 1lb loss, tea or no tea

oregonianabroad · 23/04/2008 08:17

I have that problem sometimes too, BHM (not enough points for the evening). Last night on the way home from evening class I stopped at the supermarket and normally would've binged out of hunger, but I only had about 3 points left so I bought a bag of mini carrots (nice and crunchy, like crisps) and then had a WW yog when I got home.

Anyone have any tips for making carrots taste not so dry as a snack, without adding any points? I was thinking of lemon juice maybe, but am open to suggestions.

ShortandSweet · 23/04/2008 08:25

You could make a homemade salsa thats free.

OP posts:
oregonianabroad · 23/04/2008 09:01

HI S&S.

Why is homemade salsa free, but the shop bought fresh stuff is half a point?

mixedmama · 23/04/2008 09:16

I learnt on Day 2 that I had to make sure I saved some points for the evening cos even tho I may not be hungry I do like to snack.

Had my first weigh in yesterday as i missed last wekk so was hopin for decent weight loss and I lost 8lb, so happy that all the counting has been worth it. Not expecting to lose weight like that every fortnight but is a good boost and has motivated me for this week.

RiaButterflew · 23/04/2008 09:46

Bloody well done mixedmama. I am

mixedmama · 23/04/2008 09:53

Thx... only week two tho must be the change in habit. Mt toddler is with his granny today so only have my little one so going to get myself some exercise points today as I have a Lebanese restuarant party on Friday so need all the help I can get.

oregonianabroad · 23/04/2008 10:44

Wow! That's awesome, mixedmamma.

Why don't we start a list of our low-points late night snax?

*Salsa with rice cake, low-fat crisps, toast, pitta, etc...

*potato wedges with smoked paprika and cumin

*cereal with milk

*digestives, WW cookies or yogs for sweet tooth

*fruit salad with honey

ShortandSweet · 23/04/2008 11:05

oregoniana I think the reason the shop bought one is points is because there is olive oil added.

I have a WW free salsa dip recipe. I will post it when I get home. There is other homemade dips with no points or low points. Will dig the out for you all.

OP posts:
mixedmama · 23/04/2008 11:07

I lurrrvvee olive oil... finding it difficult to use low fat cooking spray so sometimes just have to allow mysel the olive oil.

lizandlulu · 23/04/2008 13:08

my usualy snacks are

*rice cakes with choc spread
*baked bananas with choc spread and mixed nuts

not sure on the points (you can see i follow it well!)but very good as a low point pudding too.

ShortandSweet · 23/04/2008 13:23

Sugar free jelly is free.

please post, S&S.

mmmmmm, lizandlu...

I treated myself to a smallish muffin today and found that it was only worth 3.5 points, not too bad for a cake-like sunstance (M&S orange & carrot muffins, 1/2 price!!)

ShortandSweet · 23/04/2008 16:48

Right here goes:

Salsa - free
350g of deseeded ripe tomatoes chopped finely, mix with 1/2 finely chopped red onion, 1 finely chopped green chilli, 2 heaped tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander, 1/2 teaspoon of ground coriander seeds. you can add tabasco to taste if you like.

Chunky guacamole:
2pts per serving 6 servings in this dish.
Roughly mash 2 avocados and mix with 0% fat greek yogurt, 2 sliced spring onions, 15g chopped jalapeno peppers, 1/2 green pepper finely chopped, 1 crushed garlic clove, handful of fresh coriander leaves, and juice of 1/2 lime and season with salt and pepper

Green tapenade
1pt per serving and this serves 6.
Tip a drained 300g of anchovy stuffed green olives in brine, 120g drained weight, into a food processor. add 1 tbsp rinsed and drained capers, 1 roughly chopped shallot, 1 chopped garlic clove, 50g of WW soft cheese, 15g of fresh basil leaves, 1tsp of extra virgin olive oil and 1 tsp of cold water, blend until fairly smooth.

Houmous
1pt per serving and 6 serving in the dish:
Tip 420g tin of chick peasinto a food processor add 1 crushed garlic clove, 3tbsp to cold water, 2tbsp of very low fat plain yogurt, 1tbsp lemon juice, blend to a rough paste. add 1/2 tsp cumin powder, add salt and pepper to taste and serve. You can add extra cumin powder if you want.
I added a tsp of tahini and lots of coriander and it was yummy.

I have 2 more and will post them later

BigHotMama · 23/04/2008 21:03

WW Ice Cream deserts(2-3 pts) or the WW choc eclairs (1pt) are my munchies, they taste so naughty and are pretty low if you save some points.

I also love the sugarfree jelly with chopped up fruit.

Well done Mixedmama that is really good weight loss! What are your tips then?

I must admit on the days I do well and stay withing my points I love the slimmer feeling the next day, my trousers seem to fit me better and almost seem too big. Weigh in tomorrow for me.

mixedmama · 24/04/2008 09:52

Bighotmama - I put that loss down to the fact that it was only two weeks since I started so body is adjusting the change in portion size and stuff... sure it wont last but i will be happy with a slow 1-2 lb per week as the most important thing for me is to maintain it.

oregonianabroad · 24/04/2008 09:54

thanks for those recipes, s&s!

I know what you mean, BHM! IMO, the scales matter far less than how your clothes fit and how you feel.

Am really hacked off: I picked up a salad for lunch today and then checked the points -- even if I only eat half of it, it is still really high points! Not a mayo one either, am really annoyed.

oh, well, it looks too nice to go in the bin, so will have to have something light for tea. hope the bloody thing fills me up at least.
