I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

hi fatkatyslim. i need to lose about 2 stone so i will do it with you but not sure i can make it to meetings.am going to look at website etc. bought slim-fast tub today so will use that then see!!

Riallyclean · 16/04/2008 21:16

I boguht the books off ebay and am using the online stuff that's fee. I don't want to pay for being fat, because I know I would still cheat and then it would be a waste of money (that I could have spent on wine...). Also I am not a people person, so the groups scare me rigid (I did go to SW clsses a few times but I hated it)

Riallyclean · 16/04/2008 21:17

but groups do work better for some people. just not me.

I buy the mag and cookbooks if I spot them cheap.

lizandlulu · 16/04/2008 21:18

i find that if i dont have to go each week and face a real person to tell me if i have lost weight, i cheat. i think oh well no one will know. but knowing i have to stand there in fronof them, i try harder.

fatkatyslim · 16/04/2008 21:31

thats me to lizandlulu.i can do it on my own but i like the awards and well dones that you get at a group.i hate to fail

smartiejake · 17/04/2008 00:43

Ok so I am back from my holiday and have put on 2lbs from the 5 I lost in the 2 weeks I lost before I went. AM having great difficulty in getting back on track with my diet. Help!!!

Someone lock the fridge and throw away the leftover easter eggs. Where has my will power gone? How do I get it back?

ShortandSweet · 17/04/2008 06:06

Hi Oregoniana if you go here you get money off when you sign up to WW on line.

www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/discounts/weightwatchers.co.uk

if you go through quidco you get £15 cash back

So thats a total of £25 quid

I have just dropped a dress size but I had to lose 2st to see that.

oregonianabroad · 17/04/2008 08:19

Thanks for that, Short&Sweet.

Dh & I decided to start officially from Monday, since this weekend is the dc's birthday parties (no way could I survive all the cooking & cake without a few snacks!!).

I'm really impressed by those who can do it without registering; I think I need the thought of spending all that money to keep me on track!

Thanks for answering my questions. will keep checking in regularly.

ShortandSweet · 17/04/2008 08:35

Smartie it's only 2lb, you will easily lose that in a week. Did you enjoy yourself because if you did then the 2lb is worth it.

Hope you get back into the swings of things soon.

OP posts:
Riallyclean · 17/04/2008 09:23

morning all, I've started well today (OK so it's only just after breakfast)

I don't know what to have for lunch though.

Hi smarties. You never know, the 2lb might come off in a week if you get back on track.

mixedmama · 17/04/2008 09:55

Morning everyone.

I am quite disapointed as I couldnt get to my meeting on Tuesday as Dh was late home to look after the kids, did consider put them in the pushcair in their PJs and just getting weighed but not staying. Then thought that was a bit mean on them.

I have stepped onto my own scales which I know you are not supposed to do but I needed to know whether I had lost anything at all. According to my scales I have lost about 6-8 lbs BUT I didnt weigh myself on mine the previous week so taking the numbers with a pinch of salt and just looking at it as i have clearly lost something so that has spurred me on this week and just going to wait until next week to find out properly.

I am on 19 points also and this is roughly what I eat:

WW danish toast x2 one with jam and one with butter
Tea with canderel
Salad with perhaps tuna / salmon or egg whites which are 0 points
Pasta with light sauce

I have rich tea biscuits as snacks as they are 0.5 pts per biccy and satisfy my craving with 1 or 2 without eating loads of bics.

The sweetner is a revalation to me as in tea i tastes fine, but i do treat myself to sugar in coffee.

I have founf that it is portion size that matters most. My hubby is from bangladesh so rice and curry are an everyday occurence in our house, so I just dont have it everyday and swap it for one ww recipe. When I do eat I leave myself 10 points and eat off a small plate rather than the proper dinner plates.

I have bought quite a lot of the ww deserts and things and i really like their mousses.

One of my fave lunches so far is the cream cheese and smoked salmon bagel for 5.5 points.

I think it is great for changing your eating habits so that you dont feel deprived and wont put all the weight back on as soon as you look at a choc bar.

My biggest things so far (my one week ) is that I plan the meals for the next day each evening so i dont faff around deciding what to eat.

Sorry for the mammoth post ladies......Hope you are all doing well.

BigHotMama · 17/04/2008 17:00

Hi everyone and welcome new girls WSD and OB!

I have put on 1/2 pound this week but havent really stuck to the plan and still craving chocolate as star week. But now am on a mission to get anothewr stone off in the next 8 weeks so Lizandlulu we can do this together if you like as your going away too.

Mixedmama your weight at the moment is my dream weight, I was happy at that weight so bet you've not got much to lose at all?

Andyrobo sorry to hear about your diabetes, am sure you will find healthy alternatives and still get weight off, although you've not got much to lose either.

My daily allowance is 24 pts and normally have something like:

Breakfast - Cornflakes or Readybrek

Lunch - egg on toast or ham sarny or tuna in pitta

Tea - cod in sauce, loads of veg & roast potatoes done with spray oil;
Low fat spag bol or Chicken sir fry with pot wedges, have the occasional WW readymeal for quickness.

My goal is to do more exercise this week and drink more water!

Good luck ladies we can do this! Its all about cutting our portion sizes down and for our bodies to get used to not feeling as stuffed.

lizandlulu · 17/04/2008 17:31

bighotmama, you are on (its a good job there is no money riding on it though)

i got some ltiile tiny smartie cup cakes today cause dd wanted them, but she only scrapes the smartie off the top and doesnt want the rest. she was in her seat in the car and waving the cake about so i had to pop it into my mouth! she would have dropped it otherwise and i would have had to clean the car out

Riallyclean · 17/04/2008 19:11

lol lizandlulu.

I am to say I seem to have got my enthusiasm back.I am doing well today.

oregonianabroad · 17/04/2008 20:17
andyrobo237 · 17/04/2008 20:32

Well I list 1lb this week - not bad considering I havent counted points properly. Will try harder this week, honest guv!

Well done to all the good losers and the new starters - welcome! It just takes a bit of sunshine to spur us on - and all the little strappy tops in the shops arent helping.

Just got a shop delivered and maxed out on salad and the like - so will make a box up for lunch tomorrow - we went to the 'canteen' today - so I had a jacket potato with tuna and then fresh fruit salad - it was fab!

oregonianabroad · 17/04/2008 21:38

I've done it!!!!!!!!!!

Riallyclean · 17/04/2008 21:39

I haven't done quite as well as i thought I would (flaming evening munchies), but I am nearer my points than I have been for a day or two. I have also done loads of exercise and had more veg ... I made tuna pasta salad with lots of peppers and tomatoes for lunch, and I have some readu for packed lunch at work tomorrow.

So I am chuffed with myself for being organised

Did you see the WW mag feature on diabetes andy?

Riallyclean · 17/04/2008 21:40

well done og, that's the first step (if it's any consolation I weigh more than my DH but at least a stone of that could be hair)

Riallyclean · 17/04/2008 21:40

and I allow at least a stone for my chest!!!!

oregonianabroad · 17/04/2008 21:55

good points, rially!

It's quite a shock really to finally take stock and admit things are out of hand -- kind of like seeing your bank statements after Christmas, and resolving to sort out the finances!

I just entered my points for the day and was way over... I have a lot to learn! For example, the chicken sandwich I had for lunch was not low-fat, even though it was made with chicken.

Blimy, I've only been doing this 10 minutes and I'm hungry already.

ShortandSweet · 18/04/2008 06:52

Oregonian I will say your first week on WW you will feel hungry, just make sure you eat lots of free veg or make a free veggie soup and you could snack on that.

OP posts:
mixedmama · 18/04/2008 12:10

Have to saY i spend a lot of time feeling hungry but if i am honest i just think about it all the time as i am conscious that i am trying to lose weight.

Bighotmama - I am only 5 foot tall so according to the little drs chart i am actually obese. Plus I have always been about 8 and a half to 9 stone so to be this weight is a massive difference for me.

oregonianabroad · 18/04/2008 17:02

Hi all,
not too bad today, and still have points left over for wine and snacks this evening (a fri nite tradition). I've replaced the dip with salsa tho, and have low fat crisps and veg to go with it.

bought some ultra lite cream cheese thingies and don't even notice the difference either.

the only thing that is difficult is that ds2 is actually underweight, so I'm meant to be stuffing him with full fat things! tempting...

lizandlulu · 18/04/2008 20:40

i weigh at least 2 and a half stone more than my hubby
