I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

lizandlulu · 14/04/2008 15:05

hiya laughalot, welcome!!

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 10:03

Hi everyone.

I've stayed the same again this week, so my goal is more water, more exercise and less wine, and to keep a closer check on my points.

Good luck.

laughalot · 15/04/2008 12:49

Hi everyone im feeling ok but hay iv only been doing it 2 days. I do like the fact that you can still really eat what you want. Tonights dinner menu is salmon, a few new potatoes and loads of veg nom nom

warmsummersday · 15/04/2008 19:05

Hi ladies, can i join in please? I have about 10lbs to loose and have the ww book so am going to give it a go. The only thing I am worried about is I did sw before a did loose weight but I could eat loads of pasta or jacket pots and they were free so always felt full. On ww I can only have 19 points a day? How is that enough to have breakfast, lunch and dinner? Maybe someone would be kind enough to write down an example of what they eat?

Thanks.

Riallyclean · 15/04/2008 20:44

Hi warmsummersday (thats a lovely feelgood sort of name btw)

Can't help with food suggestions, sorry, I'm on a heck of a lot more points than you

You could do "no count" maybe?

warmsummersday · 15/04/2008 20:49

Hi! As I said, I only have a points book and don't really know what else to do, what does no count involve?

laughalot · 15/04/2008 21:05

The no count is a big list of free foods inc potatoes, you also get a weekly allowance for those little extra treats that you might want. The free food is alot of veg, fruits, meat ect. I did the no count about 2 years ago and lost a stone im doing the points now. Good luck

Hey I won't have a weigh in this week as my leader is off sick. Boo I was really looking forward to it.

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 17:47

Hi all,
Sorry to crash thread but I am thinking of joining ww and am interested to hear how you are progressing with it. It's great to see how supportive you are of each other, and how well you are all doing -- well done!

My main concern is that for most of my 20s, food and body issues ruled my life. Around age 27, I just decided to accept myself as I was (size 16, 5foot 4). I loooove to cook and eat food, but I also love to exercise, so I thought I was OK... well, after 2 pregnancies, and a bad winter, I am creeping up the scales (don't own any so no real idea how much I weigh, but during my last pregnancy there were plenty of hints that I was too fat). Basically, I am not too happy with my shape but I don't want to get obsessed with weight loss and diet food again.

One last point: I am going home to the states in the summer and my weight will be the first thing that is noticed, whether it is gain or loss! I'd like to hope that if I join now, I could slim down a size by mid-July, and could then relax a bit while on holiday, while still keeping in touch with the programme, having learned all the 'rules'.

Sorry for the long post, any advice or comments really appreciated.

Riallyclean · 16/04/2008 18:18

shame about your weigh in S&S, but it will be a bigger loss next week

Hi oreganianabroad and welcome.

ShortandSweet · 16/04/2008 18:18

Hi oregonianabroad, I have been doing WW for 5 wks and have lost about 9lbs. I lose around 2 a week. I find it is really easy and I can eat what I like as long as I point it.

I did slimming world and lost 1.5st but for the last 4 or 5 months I was there I didn't lose a thing.

With SW if I had one bad day in the week I would put a pound on. When I have a bad day in WW I still lose 2lbs that week.

Any questions just shout.

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 18:33

Wow, S&S, 9lbs in 5 weeks is really impressive -- do you notice a big difference in your clothes?

thanks for the welcome, r.clean.

My finger is poised on the join button on-line, but it is a lot of money to commit... tell me I can do this??

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 18:34

Oh, and how do you know how many points per day you are allowed?

warmsummersday · 16/04/2008 19:56

Hi ladies. Thanks for posting your meal for me.

Well today hasn't been too bad, this is what I have had.

2 slices of toast with peanut butter.
Bowl of carrot and coriander soup.
Banana and apple.
Some lucazade sweet type things.
Roasted salmon, veg and new pots.
Squash to drink.

I have also done an hours hard weight training at the gym.

Evenings are my downfall as im sitting here thinking about what i can eat!

Dont have a clue how many points I have had though.

Riallyclean · 16/04/2008 20:24

oreganian - your points per day are based on your height, weight and sex, age, how active yoru day to day life is, and I think that's it. I thought there was a link somewhere but I can't find it.

You can earn extra points for treats with exercise, or make up for slip-ups with extra exercise.

HTH.

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 20:30

THANKS, Riallyclean.

If anyone has a link to points per day calculations, I'd be grateful (need to know if I can realistically cope before I lay down any cash!)

fatkatyslim · 16/04/2008 20:34

points quiz

lizandlulu · 16/04/2008 20:42

hiya oregonianabroad, to drop a size by july is a good aim.
i have lost 1 stone 2 pounds in about 9 weeks and my clothes are a little bit looser, but not like i thought they would be. i bought some size 18 evans jeans off ebay and they are still too small

i am 5 ft 4 and do a manual job so am on 22 points a day, but i am not all that good at counting them.

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 20:53

That is a great link, fatkatyslim! What a life that lady has had!

She seems to have a really detailed list of points -- is it possible to do this without paying, just by researching on-line? Are any of you doing it this way?

oregonianabroad · 16/04/2008 20:55

Thanks, lizandlu, and don't feel bad about your jeans; all the shops have different cuts, ime -- I am spilling out of some of most of my size 18s now. congrats on your weight loss, that's fantastic.

fatkatyslim · 16/04/2008 20:56
