Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Sneaky weigh in this morning...13st 8.5lbs so officially lost just over 2 stone 😁

Cookiedough123 · 13/10/2023 07:57

My weigh in was 13st 10.4. So a small drop 🎉

@Bumblebeebum23 well done on your 2 stone loss that’s fantastic!! I have 3.4lbs to go!

Thanks, @Cookiedough123, and keep going. You're doing so well! Xx

Cookiedough123 · 14/10/2023 09:02

Morning everyone and happy Saturday!
Had a piece of chocolate cake last night.. a decent size piece too! Expected a bit of a gain this morning. But to my surprise I was 13st 9.6! That’s a .6 drop overnight. I am soooo close to 2 stone loss! We went to a kids play place yesterday which adults were allowed on and my partner took pics and I’m finally looking at them thinking I don’t look as huge!

Total loss so far -
25.2lbs!

Well done, you are doing fab. 👏

I'm 12st 5 today seem to be bouncing up and down a wee bit. God only knows what next week is going to do to me. Away with friends and expecting lots of booze!

I think it's a case of let it go this week and get back on it seriously when we get back.

Sugarfree23 · 15/10/2023 11:42

Whoop whoop I'm back under 12st 5, today 12st. 4.7, I'm sure it must be related to time of the month but I'll take it.

But it's the lowest I've been since the end of September.

Cookiedough123 · 16/10/2023 07:49

Hi everyone. A small gain for me this morning of 1lb up from yesterday! I’m not too surprised as I’ve had a slice of chocolate birthday cake Fri Sat and Sun and yesterday we had a bigish meal out! I did go out at 8pm yesterday to walk the dog for 40 minutes as I had only done 3500 steps and wanted to get to 10000! A few months ago I wouldn’t of bothered 😂

Hope everyone who weighs today gets a loss 🤞🤞 we are another week in and 10 weeks to Christmas 🎄

@Sugarfree23 well done! Hope they keep falling now!!

13st 8 and 3/4lbs this morning

(not too bad after a weekend in Birmingham eating Chinese takeaway!)

so 1/4lb up since Friday but 3/4lb down since last Monday’s weigh in (and stayed under 13st 9lbs so have maintained the 2 stone loss)

Back on track today. My mum is arriving from Australia on Thurs 😁. I haven't seen her in person since April, so I hope she can really see a difference.

Hope you all have good weeks xxx

Bumblebeebum23 · 16/10/2023 07:58

And well dome @Cookiedough123 and @Sugarfree23 on your losses 👏 great achievements x

Foodie40lady · 16/10/2023 17:28

Lost 5 1/2 stone through calorie counting and breastfeeding back in 2017 but have slowly put it back on (thankfully not all, 4 stone though) so looking to get that back off and giving myself 8 months to do it.

Lost 14lbs in 4 weeks so far

SW: 16st 0
CW: 15st 0 (14/52lbs)
Final TW: 12st 4lbs

You’re all doing fabulously! Could I join you, I have 70lb to lose. Having a strict reset of my mind to begin with so am fasting for 23 hrs each day. Very determined finally. It’s a huge help to see you managing to lose - minds play funny tricks and I start thinking I can’t lose weight but obviously, really I can!

Cookiedough123 · 17/10/2023 10:30

Morning!! Rubbish weigh in this morning .. the scales have gone up another 1lb so I’m now 2lb heavier than I was on Sunday! I’m presuming the cake I ate is catching up with me 😂 this is the main issue with weighing every day it’s pretty demotivating when the scales go up! Going to be extra good today and try and get them back down. I’ve gone from being 2.5lbs away from my 2st loss to 4.5lbs!! 🤯🤯

Cookiedough123 · 17/10/2023 10:35

@Bumblebeebum23 Thats great you’ve managed to keep a loss after a weekend away! How lovely hope you enjoy your visit with your mum.. I’m sure she will notice!

@Foodie40lady I was the opposite with breastfeeding.. it made me really hungry and gained weight! Well done on your loss upto now! Hope them scales keep on going down for you!

@MrsHedgewitch Yes pls join! Wow well done on 23 hour fasts. I have done one and I found it really hard! I told myself I was going to do another but it hasn’t happened yet! I’m already thinking of lunch in 2.5 hours! Keep going! What day is your weigh day going to be?

OP posts:
MrsHedgewitch · 17/10/2023 11:31

I think weigh day will be Monday mornings, I’m going to try not to obsess with weight on scales as I know fluctuations do happen - it will all work out in the end if I just stick to it.

Cookiedough123 · 18/10/2023 08:46

So today I was back to 13st 10.6. I had dropped to 9.6 a few days ago. But last Wednesday I was also 13st 10.6 so technically this is my first week where I have dropped 0! I definitely have ate more this week and I have had a few days where I struggled to get to 10000 steps so it shows that eating them extra snacks and moving less, really do make a difference! A little frustrated with myself but I am trying to remember I am only a few pounds away from an overall loss of 2 stone and how far away I was in July! I made this little excel spreadsheet when I got to work this morning and have compared my weights every Wednesday. Some weeks where I thought it was slow it wasn’t actually that bad! I left a week out when I was on holiday and didn’t weigh!

@Cookiedough123 they're fantastic losses 👏. What I find is that every couple of months I have a plateau but then a 'whoosh' that follows. I once had no losses for 4 weeks despite being 100% on track, then 8lb came off on week 5.

Its hard to keep going and to remain mentally focused when it's like this as I always feel I've missed out for nothing, but just keep tracking. I always stay the same the week before my period too, then lose 3-4lbs the following week.

MrsHedgewitch · 18/10/2023 19:51

They are brilliant loses! How do you find your monthly cycle affecting it? When losing weight previously I actually stopped weighing in the pmt week and the period week as the results were so demoralising…yet month overall was always good. Love your spreadsheet.

Cookiedough123 · 19/10/2023 09:15

This morning I lost a lovely 0.2 of a pound. So I am now 13st 10.4. Need to wake up 9.6 tomorrow and I’m back on track then!!

@Foodie40lady hopefully that’s what it is but I wasn’t 100% I mean I didn’t eat over my calories but I possibly ate equivalent to maintenance calories so maybe that’s why I’ve had little to no loss this week. I would say i haven’t had a proper plateau yet so maybe this is it and I’m due a big whoosh! And yes it is hard to keep going when you feel like you’re a bit stuck!

@MrsHedgewitch to be honest I haven’t seen much of a difference maybe the week before I’ve held onto a little extra weight but it’s not been massively noticeable to me!

OP posts:
MrsHedgewitch · 19/10/2023 16:48

@Cookiedough123 thats fortunate - I regularly see an increase of 1-3lb that disappears once period over. I used to get very disheartened. I’m tempted by Holland and barest water retention tablets.

Cookiedough123 · 20/10/2023 07:34

I had a new low this morning.. finally! I was 13st 9.4 this morning so I’m 1lbs down from yesterday and I am 0.2 down from my lowest from the weekend. My first logged weight on 26th July was 15st 6.8 so I’m sooo close!! I’ve had a pretty rubbish week in terms of steps I only managed to hit my steps Mon & Tues. Wed & Thurs I ended on around 7000 steps both days, it’s really hard now it’s coming into winter and it gets dark so early as it gets to 6pm and I just don’t want to go back out! Eating wise hasn’t been too bad I’ve definitely improved from eating cake all weekend but yesterday I did have a few biscuits which I’m not too bothered about. Anyway I’m off next week so I am going to make sure I do lots of walking and get my steps in everyday and hopefully by this time next week I will have hit my 2 stone loss! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Bumblebeebum23 · 20/10/2023 08:53

Well done, @Cookiedough123, so close to your 2 stone now 👍 My weight has been fluctuating between 13st 8lb and 9lbs all week with no proper drop.I am definitely finding it harder with the cold, wet weather. Less steps and more tempted by stodgy food. Half term next week, so hopefully, I can stay on track despite family staying.

LittleGlowingOblong · 20/10/2023 16:43

Feeling really depressed today - lots of reasons but weight is one of them. I’ve been eating as if the world is ending all through half term - as a solo parent (widowed) the strain of entertaining / being with a child all day every day for a week just kills me. Scared to weigh myself for a week or so!

I feel hungry all the time. I feel I could eat non stop. Perhaps today is worse because I fell off the wagon last night and so am hungover.

@Cookiedough123 do you mind if I ask what your age is, roughly? I’m 48. The menopause has been such a game changer, I think I need to adjust my expectations accordingly.

Feeling really disheartened ☹️ Start again tomorrow.

221BBakerSt · 20/10/2023 17:25

@LittleGlowingOblong I could have written your post, I’m sorry you are going through this too. I’ve just had two weeks at home, awful weather, on my own with 5 kids, I work in the evenings/night remotely so it’s truly been non stop and so draining. I’ve spent the last year so hungry all the time and mindlessly binging on absolute crap as so drained. Viscous circle. I don’t drink, but I’ve piled on the weight. I’m 45.

So could I please join you on your journey @Cookiedough123 ? You’re doing so well!

I started a week ago, avoiding all food that isn’t proper meals. Feel much better already just finding some control. Today I’ve had fruity porridge, carrot soup and ryvita and cheese spread, and dinner will be a chicken breast, ratatouille and a quinoa salad.
