Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

@Cookiedough123 I 100% understand where you are coming from. I find this time of year really hard too. The dark mornings and the cold, wet weather don't help, and there's so much temptation in the lead up to Christmas. I start getting major FOMO because I associate Christmas with being "allowed to treat myself" and enjoy nice food. It's definitely hard to stay motivated.

I had a full on "fuck it" day on Friday...pizza, chocolate, crusty bread, cocktails etc...

Thankfully, I managed to kick myself up the arse afterwards and despite eating out all weekend did try to be much more mindful. I think that is going to be the trick over Christmas. Allow the odd "treat" but ensure that I am mindful and not just gorging for the sake of it!

Sorry for the long post! 13st 3.5lbs this morning. Half a lb off (god knows how!). 1.5lbs until 2.5st so much keep on track x

Cookiedough123 · 20/11/2023 08:43

Yep that’s exactly it! I’m going to try and pull it all back together this week. I find even if i can be good in the week it counteracts the bad weekend. I was 13st 2.4 this morning so I think the scales were kind to me considering!!

well done on your loss! Half a pound is good and better than a stay the same or a gain!

@Cookiedough123 you are doing fantastic. Its so hard to keep going at it week after week, month after month.

After getting down to 12st 4.3 I blew it on a boozy weekend was back up at 12st 8 on Monday, dropping to 12st 5.6 today.

I have no more crazy nights out or trips away this year. So it's get on with it and get down to 12st for Christmas.

Cookiedough123 · 23/11/2023 08:47

This morning I was 13st 0.4. So close! In the last 2 weeks I’ve lost 1.2lbs which shows what happens when you have more snacks, meals out and treats. I have stuff on nearly every weekend up to Christmas, most weeks it’s a meal. I don’t drink but I love my desserts so will have to try and be as good as possible in the week!

Hi
I'd like to join you please. I've just joined MN after seeing your post and have just come back from docs struggling with weight and am 14kg heavier than last time they weighed me Confused

CW 13.10

Mini goal 12.12

End goal 10.2

Hopeing this post gives me some accountability in terms of staying on track ! I am quite active but diet definitely needs work !!

Bumblebeebum23 · 27/11/2023 07:40

Stayed the same this week (13st 3.5lbs). Bit annoyed with myself because I was 13st 2.5lbs yesterday, but after a long day lugging furniture about (moving work premises), I caved and ate a mountain of roast dinner and apple pie and custard!

Oh well, back on it today!

Hope everyone is doing well x

Welcome @locket2009 👋

Cookiedough123 · 27/11/2023 21:39

Arghh is all I can say! I have been doing so well and feel like the last few weeks have gone wrong!
I was 13st 4 this morning. Had a weekend of food.. AGAIN!! I am mostly good in the week with some snacking but I just fall apart at the weekend with meals out, christmas market treats. If I wasn’t being so good in the week it would not be good.
As annoying as it is, I do think it’s all related to time of the year! And it’s only going to get worse until Jan. So I am going to try and just keep up with what I’m doing and if I could just lose half a pound here and there then that’s better than nothing!

Positives.. I am still fasting at least 6 hours nearly every day, running/exercise classes 3x a week, weekday eating is mostly max 1600 cals mostly less! I have lost a total of 34.4lbs!!

So I haven’t completely fallen off the ledge. Hoping a few pounds of water weight come off over the next few days. I keep saying it but I have no major plans this weekend, so unless we last minute go to another Christmas markets and I buy 2 more slabs of brownie/millionaires shortbread then hopefully I will keep a lid on it! Will report back with tomorrows hopefully lower weight 🤞🤞

@locket2009 welcome!! How have your first few days gone? Do you have a plan?

@Bumblebeebum23 i feel like this time of year rather than well done for the loss it feels like well done for staying the same! It’s so hard! I reckon in a few days you will get your loss! You’ve probably just stored some water overnight from all them carbs!

Cookiedough123 · 28/11/2023 07:28

13 2.4 this morning. Last weeks low was 13 0.4. I think if I’m good this week I could probably hit that again on Friday and start the cycle again over the weekend! We will see.. when i get to work I’m going to work out my losses over the last few weeks.

Bumblebeebum23 · 28/11/2023 07:41

@Cookiedough123 I could have written your posts myself! I'm exactly the same....mostly holding it together, but finding the time of year difficult and weekends are definitely my undoing at the moment.

Well done on your loss. I'm back down to 13st 2.5 today too.

Have a good week x

Thank you

I struggled over the weekend tbh. Mainly down tk lack of planning Back in the game this morning though. Did a Tabata class at 6:15 which tends to put me on track food wise.

I am mainly using mfp to log my food and exercise. I've tried ww before but I don't really lose weight on it and it makes me think about food all day!!

Desperately want to get under the 13 stone mark before Christmas

Bumblebeebum23 · 01/12/2023 07:44

So, the end of November total is a slow and steady 4.5lbs loss.

I'm accepting that unless I really up the exercise or restrict my eating further, I am probably going to continue the pattern of losing an average of a lb a week now, which at the moment I am fine with. I am not in the mental space to be going full throttle, and to be honest, I am more likely to fall off the wagon.

On a brighter note....13st 2lbs today, so officially 2.5 stone down.

Now to keep focused over December!! 🎄🦃🍭

Bumblebeebum23 · 04/12/2023 07:45

13st 2lbs today (same as Friday....1.5lbs down since last Monday)

Mini target is to move out of the 13s before Christmas, but we will see!

NSV - I bought some size 14 jeans in blue and black and they both fit! (A little snug but definitely wearable) 👖😊

Hope everyone else is well?

Xxx

Cookiedough123 · 05/12/2023 10:31

I’ve had flu like symptoms for around a week now. Today’s my first day back in work. Been a rubbish week. My November loss was 4.2lbs. It was double in October!
Ive downloaded my Zero fasting app again as that has gone wrong! Going to go back to recording my fasts every day and logging food on my fitness pal.
My weigh in this morning was 13st 3lbs so luckily I haven’t ballooned this last week as I’ve done no exercise since last Tuesday! I’m also just going to take any loss I can although I would love to get to the 12 numbers but I’ve been so close for about 2 or 3 weeks now!! Back to the gym tonight going to get that 3lb gone by Christmas!!!

I was good yesterday and managed to almost cut snacking on the head! I weighed this morning at 13st 0.8 so getting closer again!

Sorry you've been unwell. I feel like we have both been so close to the 12 stone bracket for what feels like an age! I was 13st 1.5lb this morning but have been awful today. Really need to get my head in the game!

Cookiedough123 · 07/12/2023 11:57

Yes we are so close!! I was 13st 1.4 this morning too!! We will get there 😂

Stayed the same this week 🙄 13st 2lbs. Was down to 13st 1lb for most of the week, but have eaten way too many carbs at the weekend. I'm getting the feeling Dec is going to be a month of trying to maintain as much as I can (losses a bonus) and then back on it properly in the new year.

Bumblebeebum23 · 13/12/2023 07:37

13st 0lbs today.....come on 12s - so close! 😬

Bumblebeebum23 · 14/12/2023 07:37

Lose 50lbs with me!
Bookworm1111 · 14/12/2023 08:01

Reading this thread with interest! I hit my highest ever weight of 15st 3lb in October (I'm 5ft 8) and since then I've managed to drop 6lbs. Yes, that's slow, but I'm also a 50something menopausal woman on HRT, so it's going to take time. I also discovered in November I had a serious Vitamin D deficiency that might have also contributed to my inability to lose weight.

I have the Nutracheck app but because I don't want to become enslaved to it and I need to make this something I can do long-term, I logged religiously for a week on the recommendation of a menopause dietician to see where I could cut 500 calories – booze and snacking, turns out – and since then have been going it alone and it's been fine.

The game changer has been weighing myself every day. Once you realise just how much your weight can fluctuate it takes the sting out of the number going up occasionally, or when you plateau.

My aim now is to get to 12.4 stone, which is comfortable for my frame – would love to stay on this thread for accountability! Everyone's losses are so inspiring – well done @Bumblebeebum23 for getting into the 12s!

Bumblebeebum23 · 14/12/2023 10:27

Thank you, @Bookworm1111. I'm going pretty slow and steady, too, having been at it since the end of June. However, now 2st 9lbs down and feeling so much better. Officially, I need to be 10st 1lb to be in a healthy BMI (I'm 5"3), but I'm trying to take it day by day. After many failed attempts, I've realised that being mindful and loosely following 16:8 fasting has felt much more sustainable than trying to be super restrictive. Hope all goes well for you and that we can all continue to support one another x
