Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

@WhyDoesItAlways @HolidayHappy123 no I’m a stone to a healthy bmi. I’m short, so the calories I need to loose weight are very low, despite me exercising daily, they are still low.
I’ve done it before with no medication needed but I’m struggling at the moment. I think it’s my age?

@Twiglets1 I've actually found my juniper really good. I had bad side effects the first few weeks and a pharmacist phoned me twice to offer advice. The slack threads are rubbish as clogged the Mumsnet ones are far more useful. I've found my health coach who is a qualified dietician really helpful she's looked at my diet and given me lots of advice about the drug,my diet and exercise. We also get weekly information emails this week it was all about plateaus. I personally like this support and prefer this to using a straightforward pharmacy especially when it's not my GP prescribing so I can't ask them advice.

Ok that does sound good, & I appreciate that some people want additional support than they can get from Mumsnet/ Internet.

But surely you don’t condone them telling new users they should only inject every 10 days instead of 7? Like me, you must have seen lots of people on these threads saying their appetite starts to come back before 7 days. I think they would do better to restrict the number of new users they take on to protect their limited supply.

SarahC50 · 08/05/2023 19:51

@Twiglets1 yes personally I have found the juniper support good. But essentially they are selling a drug and all they care about is profit, of course I think it is very dodgy changing the frequency of dose whilst upping the price, not sure how they are allowed to change the dosage from seven to ten days. It is just naked profiteering.

SarahC50 · 08/05/2023 19:53

@Shookethtothecore I'm 51 with a starting BMI of 31,menopausal and on lots of medication. No diet and I've tried the all has shifted more than two pounds. I'm finding the weight is shifting on ozempic might be worth giving it a try,pm me if you like x

JinroStrawbs · 08/05/2023 20:21

Hi everyone - have stalked these threads for weeks and finally took the plunge two weeks ago, just took my second dose yesterday and all is well so far. A few minimal side effects but slow and steady weight loss. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences as it really put my mind at ease.

I think I’m lucky in having got under the Juniper cut off before they put their prices at. Does anyone know if the referral bonus which they’ve brought back still works at the new price for new customers? My sister is interested in signing up so I want to try and get £50 off for her (and frankly me too… this ain’t cheap!) if it does, especially with the new price!

SarahC50 · 08/05/2023 20:34

@JinroStrawbs I don't think it's working anymore I gave it to someone yesterday and it came up invalid

Bargellobitch · 08/05/2023 21:28

Hey everyone. I've bought ozempic and have it in my fridge. I'd planned to take it tomorrow. But I'm on my period. I have endometriosis and get awful symptoms. Mainly pain, low mood and feel wiped out. Does anyone else have experience of starting it on your period of it's interaction of any with peiofd? I want to get the best start so for the sake of a few days I could wait. Any thoughts?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/05/2023 21:33

I've no idea who would now buy a pen from myjuniper. They have put the price up ridiculously considering it's still based on 4 doses. Making it every ten days is clearly just an effort to make it better value than it is, if you compared it to someone still selling a 4 dose pen on weekly doses.

Even if the £50 referral bonus worked, who would use it against such an expensive product compared to elsewhere? I was hoping to have a code to get my next pen at £150, but it's not going to happen now. I expect I shall cancel completely and take my chances on getting it elsewhere. I will see how I get on over the next 4 weeks but I cannot justify paying £200 for my next pen.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/05/2023 21:36

So....if you are with juniper and you try to cancel it offers you £50 off to stay with them. That's something I suppose. I'll probably still cancel before my next pen is due.

In other words: I want the £50 referral fee so I recommend a completely unsuitable drug regardless of whether you meet the criteria.

Shocking!

It’s not even the price. It’s the fact they are going completely against dosing guidelines.

JinroStrawbs · 09/05/2023 07:42

Good point, I was so busy being worried about the price I forgot they’d changed the dosing too - I’ll advise my sister to go elsewhere!

Sameiam · 09/05/2023 08:19

Juniper must think this will be a long term shortage to completely change the plan like that 😬 such a pain! I reckon I only need about three more pens plus the 1mg in my fridge to get me down to my target weight (62kg, for a bmi of 22). Guess I’ll have to swap back to keto if I can’t get any.

RausageSoul · 09/05/2023 09:46

Has anyone had direct comms from juniper that current customers are being moved to the 10 day model? There's no mention on the Slack

TheWayOfTheWorld · 09/05/2023 10:14

@RausageSoul not that I'm aware of. They've handled it poorly. And the number of the people in the Slack group continue to tick up - I signed up 3 weeks ago when it was 6400 ish. Over 7200 now (was just under 7000 on Friday...)

WhyDoesItAlways · 09/05/2023 10:44

Can I ask what the slack is? I've used juniper for the first time this month on the old 4 week regime but haven't heard about the slack. I've not been told they're moving me to the more expensive 40 day regime but I'm hoping stock will back with other suppliers by the time I need a new pen so I can cancel them.

SarahC50 · 09/05/2023 12:43

@HolidayHappy123 that's nasty, if you read my posts you'll see that the referral code from my juniper hasn't been active recently. I personally haven't referred and received £50 from anyone. You are presumptuous to assume my offer of a pm is to encourage someone to use my juniper for my own financial gain. I was trying to be helpful as an older woman with menopausal weight gain. You don't know @Shookethtothecore own personal situation and maybe because of rude people like you she might prefer to discuss her issues in a pm. Take your rude judgement elsewhere

That doesn't explain why you are recommending a drug with serious side effects to someone who is 1 stone away from a healthy BMI when it is completely unsuitable and contrary to the dispensing criteria. Just because it can be bought on the internet doesn't mean it should be.

SarahC50 · 09/05/2023 13:03

@HolidayHappy123 I think you'll find I can speak to who I like and pm who I like to talk about my own positive experience with ozempic. I would also discuss with@Shookethtothecore the assessment process,BMI,GP informed etc. However it is not your job to police this thread or tell me who I can talk to and what about

1 stone overweight can push someone to 27 bmi which is in line with the guidelines if they have another weight-related issue. Whether it’s right to take it is a personal thing, but it definitely isn’t necessarily ‘completely unsuitable’ and may be well within the criteria.

RausageSoul · 09/05/2023 14:19

I think @HolidayHappy123 is right to express some concern when a new poster is looking for the opinion of people about her suitability, especially as she's not far off a healthy bmi - it would be better to have an open chat with others that may be helpful to other posters too.

There's loads of info out there and I found it better to speak and read about the experiences of lots of people.

She also said she'd only be likely to use for a short time which may end up being a waste of money on a low starting dose?

Kitsmummy · 09/05/2023 14:21

Hi, does anyone have a discount code and suggestion of where to buy Ozempic from?

I ordered from Juniper 3 days ago...paid £145 with a discount code. They have gone back and forth with various questions for 3 days and have today said they can prescribe to me but now prices have gone up to £295 for 40 days!!

Yes they've taken £145 originally (pending from
my account), but having just been accepted they've priced it at £295 and asked if I want to proceed! They've explained it's because prices have gone up Hmm
