Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

@Howtonamechange yes, you just need to count 19 clicks

Ooh thank you. I will try it with 19 clicks - I'm a bit scared of the side effects of nausea and vomiting though.

If you got nausea and vomiting - how long did it take to kick in?

kkr168 · 02/07/2023 10:29

@Howtonamechange on the 0.25 dose I would almost instantly get a nasty metallic taste but was fine otherwise & it was always gone by morning.
Currently on 0.5 & am experiencing nausea for 2-3 days after, never actually been sick. It comes in waves so I'm not feeling sick for the entire day though.

Gonewith · 03/07/2023 19:46

I have ordered my first 0.25 pen from right angled- has anyone used this supplier? The pen was £139 which seems cheaper than most others.

Howtonamechange · 03/07/2023 23:10

I just did it! Took my first dose just now. 19 clicks. Here we go...

Pineapplepansy · 04/07/2023 07:28

Just popping in to say hello. I'm on Rybelsus which is the tablet form and it's going well apart from headaches.

I'm on week 5 and losing weight slowly but surely. I am enjoying fitting into some of my clothes from last summer again although annoyingly the weight isn't coming off my stomach as fast as it is elsewhere.

MotherofTerriers · 04/07/2023 19:12

Hi @Pineapplepansy are you finding it easy to get the tablets? I’m happy on Ozempic but it’s getting hard to source

GertrudeJekyllRose · 04/07/2023 22:36

I see the price for a pen has gone up to £275 on most sites. I'll have to do a lot of juggling of my budget to afford that price each month!

LittleDitto · 05/07/2023 11:15

Frustratingly this isn’t working for me any more .5 of my 3rd month and it’s just doing nothing. I’ve got one more batch in the fridge and then I think I’m going to have to quit. It’s a LOT of money to throw away. I suspect there is some kind of dilution going on to help the shortages.

Whisper23 · 05/07/2023 11:38

I doubt that @LittleDitto , these things are tightly regulated. More likely your body needs more than 0.5mg now.

mumwheresmyribena · 05/07/2023 11:38

There really isn't at least not unless it's a fake. It's a strictly controlled and regulated drug. If you're in your 3rd month, the recommendadltions are that you may titrate to the therapeutic dose of 1mg. If you're not taking it as directed (and I do understand the challenges of doing that at present), you can hardly blame the med or suggest it's been tampered with.

mumwheresmyribena · 05/07/2023 11:39

Meant for @LittleDitto

Menora · 05/07/2023 11:41

I am sick of ozempic this week. I have got the worst reflux and whatever is going on, I can’t burp it out properly, feels like it’s all pushing back up from my stomach, is a horrible feeling to eat and drink with it. I’ve started nexium but if this doesn’t get better I will go to the GP not sure if I have a hiatus hernia or something?! It started on Saturday after drinking a lot of fizzy drink at a party so partly my own fault. I kept thinking I was going to throw up in the swimming pool. Despite not really wanting to eat much, nausea and heartburn and exercising I have gained 1lb 😑
I am on week 10 and weight loss seems to have stalled for 2 weeks. I’ve lost weight overall but feels like I am not moving forward. I am considering other options like the tablet form as this is so expensive if I am stuck on 0.5mg - I will have done 2 pens of 0.5mg and think this has stalled me as I could do with going to 1mg but doubt I can get hold of it

Gonewith · 05/07/2023 15:24

@Howtonamechange how are you getting on? My pen has just arrived so will take my first dose this evening before bed.

Absolutely fine. No symptoms so far.

Appetite has been suppressed. I'd normally be starving by now. I've only had a coffee and croissant this morning and I'm not hungry hungry but I'd like to eat.
Prob habit more than anything else tbh.

I am wondering how I'm going to get my next pen though...

Gonewith · 05/07/2023 19:53

@Howtonamechange amazing, I am hoping for similar results as you. Snacking is a big issue for me and hoping this will break the habbit.

Just took my first dose and was very surprised at how pain free it was! Hoping for some positive changes over the next few weeks

NigellaAwesome · 05/07/2023 21:06

I'm 15 weeks in now, and have lost a stone, which has been slow but steady. I've been using Quick Meds and last time paid £175 for a 1mg pen. I have an unopened one in the fridge. I checked this evening and the cost has gone up to £275 Shock

NigellaAwesome · 05/07/2023 21:07

Posted too soon - I think I may have to reduce to 0.5mg to eke it out.

MrsPat22 · 05/07/2023 22:06

Hi all,

I've been reading this thread for a while now and had been researching weight loss injections. I decided on Ozempic and have just started tonight.

I have spent all of my 30s overweight. I've tried all sorts of health regimes and eating plans, but nothing has dulled the noise of cravings.

I'll be turning 40 soon and have two young children whom I want to be able to run around with.

I've not told anyone I'm trying this, not even my husband, I just don't want to tell people and fail yet again. I desperately need to do something - I have a BMI of 35.1.

So let's see how I get on.

Gonewith · 06/07/2023 00:20

@MrsPat22 I’m the same keeping it to myself as don’t want to end up in a debate about. Good luck, I will check back in with an update in a few days.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/07/2023 08:52

I'm a chronic oversharer! But I have Sept this completely to myself.
I dont fancy being judged or questioned. And dh would try to talk me out of being on a medication to lose weight.

Currently still taking 0.5 from my 1mg pen as that still works for me without side effects and it makes it more economical. Weighing (ha) up whether to stop or to splurge on another pen in 3 weeks when this one runs out. Hard decision. I'm losing but v slowly. Effortlessly though.

MrsPat22 · 06/07/2023 10:13

Thanks @Gonewith

Yeah, I know I'd have family up in arms about the listed side effects and trying to urge me to lose weight "the traditional way".

Looking forward to your update. I'm already feeling the slight nausea this morning. Not sure if it's just in my head.

MrsPat22 · 06/07/2023 10:16

Hey @DrMadelineMaxwell

How much have you lost so far? I'm trying to stay away from the scales, I have a bad habit of wanting to check several times a day!

caringcarer · 06/07/2023 11:28

I've finally got moving again after 9 days of staying on the same weight, despite being on the same diet. I've upped my water even more and I'm now eating my last meal by 5.30pm. I've swapped dinner and lunch so now my hot meal is at lunch time. A hard slog.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 06/07/2023 12:00

I lost a stone before going on the ozempic with slimming world and another stone since using oz.

Only about 1 or 1.5lb a week but very easy and I don't find that i worry or get obsessed about food and calories then end up going off track and blowing any progress, which is my normal habit sadly.

MrsPat22 · 06/07/2023 12:10

That's brilliant @DrMadelineMaxwell. I hope I can get that. Though I'd be just as happy if it just stops the constant craving.
