Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

@DrMadelineMaxwell Quick meds have been good about prescribing the 1mg pen. Their current price is £175 + £4 postage. The difficulty is getting them at a time they have stock.

Bargellobitch · 20/05/2023 09:22

I'm in day 5 of my second 0.25mg dose my appetite is definitely reduced. But I haven't lost any weight this week so far! I'm quite constipated which I took something for but need to do again. Plus I'm ovulating so do get weight gain. But I'd still hoped for something. I know the appetite thing is huge so maybe I'm being impatient. Just wondering if anyone else took a little while to get results?

MulticolourTriangles · 20/05/2023 09:53

I lost 5lbs in my first week. I am amazed at how much less I want to eat. The cupboards are still full of snacks from last weeks food shop whereas I’d usually be topping them up midweek. My skin looks so much healthier too!

Peridot1 · 20/05/2023 10:47

@Bargellobitch - lots of people take a while to show any results. You are in a very low dose to help your system adjust. Constipation won’t help obviously. Just make sure you are drinking lots of water and eating well with protein and fibre.

@Bargellobitch It takes 6-10 weeks for Ozempic to reach a steady-state in your body and regulate your blood sugar as it should be doing. Any affects up to then are mainly from initial slowing down of food in your gut which does make you feel fuller but also can give you constipation and some appetite suppression which can wane as time goes on. Anyone losing much over the first few weeks are outliers and likely to be super-responders. Have a listen to the Zoë podcast about Ozempic, it's very useful and goes into this.

I was disappointed too with my first week, I'm on week 3 and have lost 8lbs all in so far.

You aren't at the therapeutic level yet, so any loss before then is a plus. Mine is due to being nauseous tbh!

Hang on in there!

Hi there,
i am finding it difficult to source the starting dose which poses my next worry - will I be able to secure a continuous supply once I do find a stockist. Should I be worried?

Movingout · 21/05/2023 12:49

Apologies if this questions has been asked before. I have just injected week 4 (.25) but have loads left in the pre-filled pen. If I keep the last needle can I use 2 doses next week when my prescription increases to .50 or should I just dispose of it, is there a reason you shouldn't reuse the same needle?

You should not re use the needle due to the risk of infection. Go to the chemist and buy a box or order needles on the internet .
Use what is left you should have enough for 2 more weeks at least .

I've been on ozempic for about 4/5 months now and I've never known it to be so difficult to secure pens. I would consider this for sure before you start Sad

Does that mean that moving forward those of you already on it, could find yourself suddenly without a continuous supply?

Peridot1 · 21/05/2023 13:44

@Perifatandfedup - yes definitely. My friend in Australia has had to stop taking it twice due to supply issues there and she was prescribed it by her doctor for diabetes.

BellyDancer124 · 21/05/2023 13:46

@Perifatandfedup yeah unfortunately. I have enough to last me for a couple of months thankfully but I am probably going to drag out my supplies if I can. Not ideal.

Prices have also increased which I imagine will price people out too. It's crazy!

JinroStrawbs · 21/05/2023 15:05

Definitely don’t reuse the needle but I bought some online for £6, moving up to 0.5 I just had my first out of my original 0.25 pen, reckon (based on what people have said here) I’ll get one more 0.5 dose before I have to go up.

For anyone struggling with supply My London Pharmacy told me this morning they have stock but it’s v expensive - £220 for 0.5mg and £230 for 1mg 😬

Hi all, I am having a funny week. Weighing in my home scales I was 15st 5 then this week 14st 13 - I get on someone else’s scales I am 14st 4!
so neither of us know which scale is wrong 🤣
I will have to find some others that are calibrated to get on. So no idea of week 1 weight loss!
I have been worrying all week my pen didn’t inject properly as the scale inside didn’t move up at all. I stupidly tested the flow again tonight, on the flow level indicator - and whole dose shot out 😭
my second dose did work as I saw the inside scale move up a level. But I have no idea what I actually weigh now or if week 1 worked although I did feel very stingy after the first time so was convinced it did go in!
also worrying about supply, and whether to try get another one soon just in case or wait it out

I have been looking for needles but can’t find my exact ones easily, can anyone recommend a site for them?

If you're on 0.25 I don't think you do see the grey plunger move into the glass window until the 2nd or 3rd dose if that's what you mean by not seeing the scale move? If you pushed the button and the counter counted down to 0 then you got the dose.

I would just pick 1 set of scales and stick with those going forward so you know you're getting consistent readings to see how much you're losing.

Bargellobitch · 21/05/2023 22:05

Hi all. I'm on my first pen and going to try to get additional needles to eek it out. Anyone who has done that can I ask if we need the same brand? My pen came with novo fine 32g 4mm.

But I can't seem to find this brand. There are various other brands. Which seem to claim to fit. But not sure if they will work. Can anyone advise please?

Bargellobitch · 21/05/2023 22:08

@JinroStrawbs i see you bought needless could you piss link them please? Thanks

Lilyy45 · 21/05/2023 22:11

Hi guys,
I've been on saxenda for 4 weeks and have lost 13 pounds!
Can't actually believe it.
Anyone else on saxenda? Xx

kkr168 · 21/05/2023 22:37

I'm 6 weeks in now, 2nd week on 0.50 dose & I'm so fed up with feeling sick 😥I had little to no side effects on the 0.25 dose but have felt sick ever since going up to 0.50.
Has anyone else had similar? Did this side effect eventually go away?
Wondering whether to lower the dose next time, although 0.25 wasn't doing much for me (apart from week 1).

DrMadelineMaxwell · 21/05/2023 22:55

I've had low grade nausea a couple of times, and usually a general 'urgh' feeling of not being able to face food. But no sickness or anything horrible, even when going up to 0.5.

I've messaged juniper to ask about 1mg as I'd like to follow the recommended regimen of moving up to 1mg. I'll have been on 0.5 for 6 weeks by the time I need a new supply. My weightloss is slow but it's very easy to maintain and the scales keep moving down without me having to obsess about food and limiting, which then would result in me binging and giving up. I've meal planned for the week and hope to finally be below 13st for the first time in about 10 years by next weekend. I'm hoping to get a 1mg pen but will either stay on 0.5 by counting clicks for a few more weeks or move up to 0.75 as some people have done rather than take the full 1mg straight away.

I bought carepoint needles from amazon. It's annoying to have to buy a box of 100 but better than wasting doses in my first pen when I still had 2 lots of 0.5 left in it.

The carepoint I found on Amazon says in the Q&A it doesn’t fit ozempic as not twist on

DrMadelineMaxwell · 21/05/2023 23:18

Oh heck. That's good to know. I didn't spot that.

Menora · 21/05/2023 23:22

I have a nauseous feeling this evening but it’s like endless reflux type feeling - want to burp but can’t
