Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

how does the prescription process work for Quick Meds if they are just a pharmacy? I can't find it on their website at the moment...

OzHopes · 10/05/2023 23:29

Quick meds are out of stock just now, I’d tried to reorder last night.

KEH1982 · 11/05/2023 08:32

Does anyone know where there is any stock?
I have previously ordered from QuickMeds with no issues but they are out -
Thanks!

My Juniper is still saying £195, I wonder why? I got my first pen from them 4 days ago and have just delayed my next one to 15th June. I'm hoping it doesn't go up in price as otherwise I'll have to cancel.

I did my fist injection this morning. How soon have people noticed a difference if at all with appetite? Also what side effect if any did people have straight away?

It took me about 5 days to start noticing anything, I just wasn't as hungry.
Listening to that feeling took a lot longer.

Peridot1 · 11/05/2023 11:19

@Windinmyhair - you complete their online consultation and they approve you or not. So they ‘prescribe’.

@Bargellobitch - it’s different for everyone. Some people are more sensitive to the medication than others and feel it on the low dose and others don’t.

Windinmyhair · 11/05/2023 11:23

I emailed my juniper.

I think the pricing is meant to be a bit of a deterrent because of stock. It is only for new people and they are hoping it will sort itself out soon.

Windinmyhair · 11/05/2023 11:26

Thanks @Peridot1 I had a look. I hope they will get some stock in soon! Do you know if they are often out of stock?

CaptinKitty · 11/05/2023 11:45

i started taking Ozempic 7 weeks ago and hit my 1 stone weight loss mark today. (Started at 16st 7 and 5ft 2!)

Really pleased with how it has gone so far and have minimal side effects (touch wood). I was on 0.25 for a month and then increased to 0.5.

The slower digestion/fullness has been remarkable for me, and the fact that alcohol is far less appealing stops my tendencies to wine and snack. Feel like I am making steady progress and not having to obsess/stress about calorie counting as much as I have done on previous diets.

For once I’m not dreading the start of summer either and worrying about things fitting/looking terrible!

Peridot1 · 11/05/2023 12:10

@Windinmyhair - it’s a general stock issue all around I think. Australia has none again too. Basically the manufacturer can’t keep up with the demand necessary so all the suppliers are having issues.

For those on instagram, I am finding Mel of cgo of me (cgo underscore of underscore me) very informative on Ozempic / Mounjaro. She's lost 75 pounds over a year an half, overhauled her lifestyle and gives great tips. She is American so a lot of the products aren't available here but still helpful.

AncoraAmarena · 11/05/2023 14:25

I've posted this on the other thread but think this one moves quicker so am asking here too (sorry).

I've just taken my third Ozempic dose (0.25). This is really daft, but I didn't feel the needle at all, the last two times it has stung slightly.

If I hadn't actually put the needle in then there would have been fluid on my thigh wouldn't there? I definitely moved the pen to 0.25, pressed it until it went to 0 and then slowly counted to 6. If I hadn't injected then I would know - wouldn't I?

Peridot1 · 11/05/2023 14:52

@AncoraAmarena - yes you would know. I once ‘injected’ but forgot to take the top off and felt the liquid on my leg.

Oh no, sorry to hear that but thank you for putting my mind at rest!

Bargellobitch · 11/05/2023 16:52

Hi all I did my first injection on Tuesday afternoon ish. I'm feeling OK so far. But of a headache and a kind of sour stomach if taht makes sense. But nothing too bad and I'm on my period so these things could also be that!

Im eating less, feeling less hungry and fuller more quickly. I'm just wondering what people are eating on ozempic and what your approach is? Are people doing normally food but less mof it an less often? But normal I mean a balanced diet perhaps with the odd treat. I know some people that doesn't work for.

Or is anyone doing anything like low carb? Or the many other diets out there?

Personally I'm doing what I try to do when eating well. Plenty veg and protein. Planning on building in some treats as I get fed up without them. But I appreciate I might not feel that bothered by food do may not. Anyway love to know how others are eating.

mumwheresmyribena · 11/05/2023 17:09

@Bargellobitch The recommendations are small protions, low carb, high protein, lots of fibre and water. Your prescriber should have talked you through it.

Well that's a good job that's how I'm eating! I'm vegetarian so lots of my protein is high in fiber. But literally no diet advice at all fro health express. I'm now going to double check my emails. Glad I'm doing the right thing so far. But could have not! I'd still be interested in what people are eating. Thank you

mumwheresmyribena · 11/05/2023 17:39

@Bargellobitch I usually have FF greek yoghurt with blueberries or strawberries around 11 or later followed by a desert spoon of psyllium husk in dilute sugar-free squash. Sometimes I have 2 eggs scrambled with cheese or a flatbread bacon & tomato sarnie, sometimes it's just leftovers from the night before. 'lunch' tends to be a banana and/or a babybel. Dinner has been Green Chef low carb meals but from this week we'll switch to cold meals; some kind of protein and a pick & mix of, rocket, lambs lettuce, tomato, avocado, cuc, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms in oil, artichoke, kimchi, olives, balsamic dressing, cold brined onions - you get the idea. Weekends could be a BBQ or a home-made curry, laksa or similar. I often have a small orange for desert in the week, occsionlly Oppo ice-cream Fri or Sat. I try to stick to 1200-1500 cals, 100gm or less carbs and as little UHP food as poss - I think the Oppo is the only UHP I eat so try to limit it to once a month.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 11/05/2023 19:36

I'm on week 7. I've not had astounding weightloss, but have slowly slowly kept on a downward trend, finding it very easy due to def eating less without much of an effort.

I'm sure I could have lost more had I suffered from side effects - I've not, even if I've had unhealthy food or alcohol, but I can definitely only manage less than I would have before.

I am having several compliments from some of the ladies at work, and if I lose another 2lb I will be below a stone bracket I've not seen since pre 2014!

But I've still cancelled because I can't bring myself to pay the price it costs for only slow weightloss. I have 3 more doses and will keep an eye on quickmeds for 0.5 stock.

I'm on day 5 and I'm suddenly STARVING! Please tell me this is temporary 😭

I've had barely any appetite earlier in the week, having to force myself to eat

SarahC50 · 11/05/2023 20:21

@eloquent yes temporary as soon as you take your next dose you'll feel the effects again x

mumwheresmyribena · 11/05/2023 20:43

@eloquent Load up with high protein food and soluble fibre to keep you full (try at least 15mg psyllium husk /day). Make sure your food is low carb and cut down simple carbs and UPF. Also this Zoe podcast has suggestions: joinzoe.com/learn/why-am-i-hungry-all-the-time.amp

Thank you so much! I try to have a lot of protein with shakes, when I can't eat, but as I'm hungry I think physical forms may be better!

Scaredtobegin · 11/05/2023 21:49

I’m finishing day 3!

I felt full / no appetite IMMEDIATELY (injected late Sunday night and didn’t want to eat Monday)
there’s definitely side effects (feeling a bit weird, not myself, tired) but I’m happy

Started at 73.5kg and currently 72.1kg as of this morning.
