I'm 33.

I'm 1m68 (5ft6)

I don't actually know what I weight and I got rid of my scales last year when getting on them just made me cry every time and I was just too depressed to even try and start loosing weight - I have ordered scales and will weight myself tomorrow.

However last time I weighed myself nearly a year ago I was 94kg (14st 11) and I know that I have gained since then.

I started gaining weight the beginning of covid, before 2019 my very highest weight had been 68kg ( 10st10) and my normal weight had been round 62kg for most of my adult life, so I have massively put on weight over these last four years. (Separation, depression, stress at work, and just general giving up).

My body is ruined by stretch-marks and my boobs that used to be great are now just swollen and saggy and stretch marked.

I'm really depressed by my weight and have decided its time to do something about it.

I have an office job and I'm not at all active.

I've tried to start making small changes, walking to the underground instead of getting the bus, getting the stairs up the one flight to my office instead of the lift but everything feels like a struggle and I have such awful thigh chaffing that walking is often excruciatingly painful.

I how I need to make a change because on top of it being so unhealthy being so over weight just makes me so upset. I've stopped going out as much and have just retreated into a shell.

I also have an appointment with a psychologist tomorrow.

I decided last month that enough is enough and I need to do something about it all.

I've started using face cream, and am finally having laser on my very very hairy thighs and - the point of this thread - I'm going to start saxenda tomorrow.

I thought I'd journal here.

@Saxendastarter Lovely photo's from your weekend away, brought back so many happy memories for me. Such a gorgeous place and area. FPOTM sounds like a keeper, and emotionally mature to have those difficult conversations...(DP & I have slightly similar circumstances) it's bloody hard! Your YouTube typewriter music tip worked a treat too.

@CiderJabs Glad you are doing well. I had my last lot from Asda, so I'm in the same boat also investigating tablets., would be curious to hear. I have a couple weeks supply left. I have also signed up for new stock alerts & for Wegovy availability.

@ThisMustBeMyDream Scales can be so frustrating, why can't it be linear!?!

@Everdecreasingcircumferences Good luck with your appointment, hope it is helpful.

Welcome to all the new members to the thread.

Sending best wishes to everyone this week.

Small victory this week- I've had to pull an old belt out of storage to keep my jeans up, and put a bra into storage that is now ridiculous! Celebrating the small wins.

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 04/07/2023 12:52

@Glorfindels every small win is a big one in my book!
I'm finally back to the lowest weight I've been in the last 2 months (95.9kg). It took 9 days to recover from the weekend blowout that really was far more restrained than the old me would have been (mainly sparkling water rather than wine, fish and chips eating out but ate half the fish and a quarter of the chips etc). I still dont fit into my old clothes well despite weighing less than I did when I bought them, shows how much my weight distribution has changed since before I fell pregnant with DS3 and prior to hitting peri meno - I'm all belly now whereas I used to be boobs and bottom.

I am so grateful for this thread, as reading it is what pushed me to place my first order with Boots just before they started having serious stock issues. Have just ordered another 3 pens thanks to being an existing customer and feel really lucky to be able to afford to do so (no family holiday this year, all my spare dosh is going on saxenda) and that there was a local pharmacy with stock (most had none).

Am sure the suppliers are doing everything they can to crank up production/distribution as it's making them a fortune.

@Saxendastarter . It was 25 years ago so had to look it up to remind me 😂. We stayed on the Ave Malliot near the Arc De Triomphe . I remember a lovely restaurant just at the top of the Ave near the Arc De Triomphe called Auberge Dab . It was April and it rained the whole time but we still made some lovely memories . We returned every a few times until he ran off with a nurse on our 14th Wedding Anniversary. 😂

This might be a bit of a daft question, but did / does anyone else find the feeling of being full, even though you haven’t eaten much, very strange? I’m only on day 2, but it’s just weirding me out bit!

Footgoose · 04/07/2023 13:31

Also want to say everyone on this thread is so supportive , I’m dipping in a few times a day to see what we all have to say . Glad we are all moving in the right direction with weight loss and small non scale victories , even when it’s not linear we all seem to be headed in the same direction.
I hope those struggling with the worst side effects start to feel better soon. 😊

Footgoose · 04/07/2023 13:34

@Smokeahontas , it’s weird isn’t it ? I get a bit of a food craving of an evening but I don’t think I’ve been properly hungry for weeks . Last night due to a very stressful half hour with a printer that wouldn’t connect ( and still refuses 🤦‍♀️) I bit into a Brownie. It brought me no joy so I didn’t even swallow it. 😂

@Saxendastarter that made my heart melt. FPOTM sounds wonderful.

I see we are on page 9 and I think threads are limited to ten pages so I've created a new follow on thread so we don't get lost. I've called it the Saxenda sisterhood.

See you there!
