Would anyone like to join me. I have three stone to loose and my target is December. I am 5ft 1 and 13 stone.

I've got Nutracheck to track calories.
Planning on walking and doing weights at home. Plus YouTube exercise videos.
Cutting back on booze.
Cutting back on snacks

I am fed up of looking like a round ball of plump 😪 I am also unfit so need to get more healthier in all ways.

All welcome 😁

I haven't counted my calories today but I've been very conscious about my food and I did over an hour at the gym so I'm confident I've got quite a big caloric deficit. Will see what the scales say tomorrow but I did a lot of weights and that can cause water retention.

Diorinthecountry · 28/03/2023 19:43

@sealon82 you have had a productive day. I keep forgetting to check out the 8mins exercises they sound really good.

Well done for going to the gym a hour is a long time@Kam610 I used to go to the gym years ago and really enjoyed it. Do you listen to music? Just thinking if I start back at the gym how I would listen to music. I used to love popping in my apple nano (shows how long ago it was 🤣) and zoning out at the gym.

I've felt a bit off day. I feel fine but just really tired, so I had a day on the couch in my pjs watching tv. I have used 1000 calories so far today. I am aiming for around 1400/1600 calories a day.

Breakfast - a cup of coffee
Lunch - a sausage sandwich
Snacks - fruit/nuts and a mini pancake
Drinks - j2o

Not feeling hungry for dinner tonight. Might have some soup later.

I have just ordered a weighted hula hoop. They seem to get mixed reviews but I'm hoping when teamed with a calorie deficit it will have an effect 🤞

My mum loved her hulahoop and got really toned up around the middle and dropped from a size 14 to a 10, with walking in the evenings and healthy eating. She doesn’t drink. She’s very good at it (1950’s childhood) and would do use the hoop for the whole if Coronation Street with a breather during the ads. I cannot get the hang of it at all!

MercuryRising · 28/03/2023 20:01

MadeinChorley that is encouraging! I'm a size 16 and would love to drop to a 12. From reading online it is all about consistency. I'm feeling determined so fingers crossed 🤞

A woman I work with got a weighted hula hoop during lockdown, she looked fantastic when she come back, really toned.
I'm feeling really motivated, it will do me good to use this board for accountability.

MercuryRising · 28/03/2023 20:55

All this positive feedback on weighted hula hoops is making me excited to start! I've completed day 3 on slimfast and I'm feeling proud... I even avoided homemade muffins in the staffroom 💪

We can do this! I'm excited to see how much better we will all feel about ourselves by the summer let alone Christmas if we stay motivated!

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling great today. A day on the sofa is sometimes all you need!

I bought some wireless earphones that loop round my ears, as I find normal ones just fall out all the time. It's made a huge difference. I put on some great workout songs and it gets me in the zone! I felt so strong and happy walking out of the gym today. I'll likely be sore tomorrow though 🤣

NewMumNeedHelp · 29/03/2023 07:14

No sign of the weight moving at all so far.

To be fair, yesterday was a write off on the exercise front as DD was having a grizzly day and I hadn’t slept well. Did manage to get out for a short walk so that’s something I guess.

Today is the second day of running/walking for C25K, so hopefully that might kick start my metabolism or something.

I can normally shift the first bit of weight by just cutting the junk and a bit of exercise. But this baby weight seems more stubborn so going to have to be stricter with calories.

Todays plan is to up the water consumption. Have slept a bit better so hoping that helps too.

@Diorinthecountry hope you feel better today.

Kam610 · 29/03/2023 08:46

Another good weigh in for me this morning. Was 173lbs yesterday, today I'm 171.6. That's just under 3lbs in 2 days. I know it's mostly water weight but I feel a huge difference.

sealon82 · 29/03/2023 18:17

Finished eating for the day, I'm trying to stick between 10am to 7pm. Finished on 1345 calories. My fitness pal is suggesting 1200 to lose 2lb per week but that's really hard to do. I'm going to weigh in every Monday.

Diorinthecountry · 30/03/2023 09:06

Morning 😁
Feeling much better this morning thankfully. Think I was just a bit run down. Had a few nights good sleep which has been great. The hula hoop chat sounds really exciting and fun. Dd had a hula hoop a few years ago, when I tried it just kept falling down 🤣

Yesterday I had a salmon and prawn salad for lunch. Dinner was a grazing plate with fruit and pate plus a pot of chocolate mouse which was amazing (Tesco finest they are only £1Grin) drinks were coffee, tea and j2o. Going to weight myself this morning and then every Thursday morning going forward.

Have a fab day everyone. Will report back later.

Glad to hear you're feeling better! It's hard to get into the right mindset if you're not feeling well. My eldest has had chickenpox this week and my youngest is now not sleeping and generally unsettled so not been getting a good rest, but I'm determined not to slip up this time. When I've been exhausted in the past I've tried to justify eating crap as an excuse to get more energy, when in reality it just made me feel worse.

I weighed again this morning and I'm 172lbs this morning. So up by 0.4lbs. I know this isn't fat gain though and will be because I've been doing weights, so will just be water retention. I've been quick to get disheartened in the past by any kind of gain, but following RH has been a massive reassurance. They say that by weighing everyday, you take your weekly average as your loss for the week.

Doing a food shop today so will re-stock the healthy foods!

Can I join. I actually started trying to lose weight at the beginning of March and have had a good first month but I have a long way to go.
I'm 5ft 3 and started the month on 12st 12. I'm down to 12st 4lb. Target is 10st.

SparkleEgg · 30/03/2023 10:52

Glad that you are feeling better @Diorinthecountry and lovely to see progress being made by all.

I have been pretty good since Monday when I started. I am finding it quite difficult to be honest but I know that it will get easier. It is only day four so still very early days.

I just found my old Fitbit, it's charged and working correctly and on my wrist. I will also be logging my weight on the Fitbit app.

Hey, more the merrier. I'm finding it really helpful having somewhere to write down my goals for the day. Early days but feeling positive.

Well done losing 7lbs, not long now and you will be 11stone something.

SparkleEgg · 30/03/2023 11:05

Sorry @decemberagain, you have lost 8lbs not 7lbs as I previously said.

Diorinthecountry · 30/03/2023 12:59

@Kam610 sorry to read the chickenpox is in your house. I know what you mean about being tired and just reaching for anything to get through the day. Hope you get a good sleep tonight. Enjoy the food shop. I absolutely dread the shop we can never think what to buy and dd is so fussy at the moment. Oh the absolute Joy's of parenting 🤣

@decemberagain welcome. We are a friendly bunch. Sounds like you have been doing great are you counting calories?

Thanks @SparkleEgg sounds like you have been really productive getting your fitbit sorted and in use. Small steps to big gains 😁 what bits are you finding difficult? Can we help ?

@sealon82 I am the same this thread is keeping me going.

Well I weighed myself this morning and it wasn't good 13 stone 1 pound at 5feet 1 inches. I felt horrible and a little bit sick to be honest. Made a coffee and had a biscuit (for the love of God why!) To be fair it was only one and not half a pack eaten in self pityGrin

I am still feeling positive and motivated. But at the same time frustrated that I can't loose it all quickly. I need to have patience that small steps will get me there in the long run. How did I let myself get to this position anyway time to draw a line under it. Today is a new day and a fresh start.

Since Monday I have cut back on snacks crisps/chocolate etc. Had no alcohol since Saturday night and cooked from scratch. I have increased my salad, veg, fruit, drinks. I've rested and had good nights sleep. Written down all the changes are positive and in the right direction. Just trying to take it one day at a time and not look far into the future.

Have a wonderful day everyone

@SparkleEgg if I can get to 11 something I will be classed as overweight instead of obese so that is my next target!!
I know the first few weeks you always lose it more quickly so hoping it doesn't get too hard now.

decemberagain · 30/03/2023 16:25

@Diorinthecountry so far I have just stopped snacking and upped the exercise. I know that at some point I will stop losing anything and I will then need to cut down a bit more and start counting calories but hoping I can lose a few more pounds as I am!

NewMumNeedHelp · 30/03/2023 20:02

Well done @decemberagain 8lbs is a great start. I’d be very pleased with that.

Went for a run tonight and have eaten better today, so hoping to see some results by the end of the week.

sealon82 · 30/03/2023 20:39

So No excuses... My husband come home from work with a bloody treadmill! Can only be a good thing. I'm going to set it up in the conservatory and start at half hour at a time.

Diorinthecountry · 30/03/2023 21:40

@sealon82 that's fantastic we'll done to your dh. Half an hour slots on it sounds great. Enjoy!

Well done on going out for a run @NewMumNeedHelp I am sure you will see results soon.

@decemberagain that sounds like a good plan. I have been cutting down just need to increase the exercise thankfully the lighter nights are here which makes a difference.

I went out for a walk tonight and really enjoyed getting out and stretching my legs, felt more relaxed after it.

Well done to all of us for today. Tomorrow is a fresh start. One day at a time Grin
