Interesting article

Well, weigh in was today. I've lost another 1.5lbs

Am utterly surprised considering all the chocolate and cake i'd had, and having gone 37 points over for the week

So, the tally is:

Colditz: -2 Total: -17.5
VVV: -1.5 Total: -26.5
arau: - 2 Total: - 11
perkin: 0 Total: - 5
silkcushion: -1 Total: -17

Fedda: - 1 Total - 11
Squiffy: - 2.5 Total - 21
Lennygrrl - 2 Total - 9
Short -1.5 Total - 4.5

I've worked out that at this rate, I'll be down to 11.5 stone by June, and, if I decide to go further - I could be 9.5 stone by end of August!!!!!! It's a great incentive - to be size 12-14 by summer!

I'm off to drink copious amounts of water - it seems I have cystitis again

lilibet · 25/03/2008 12:48

Hello all, sorry I have been missing since week two

But you have been doing really grat!!

am Very impressed.

does anyone do weightwatchers on line?

TheAntiFlounce · 25/03/2008 16:46

I have reached my first goal - 10% off my original body weight. I was given my little 10% weight watchers keyring today, and I am exceptionally proud of myself - I weighed about this when I was 19. 2 more points off off the BMI and I will no longer be obese for the first time in my adult life

Oh why did I not do this 10 years ago?

Sorry it's colditz here.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/03/2008 16:55

Well done colditz I kinda know what you mean.

Lilibet - i'm doing WW online

lilibet · 25/03/2008 21:22

How does it work VVV?

bloody well if your weight loss is anything to go by!!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 25/03/2008 21:43

Well, it costs money - of course

You sign up at www.weightwatchers.co.uk but you can get a week's free trial first.

YOu log your weight, have access to all their recipes and points lists etc. There is also a forum but i've not used it. You also track your daily and weekly points. It is a real help to see what you are eating and how much. I can access it at home and work, and, it also keeps a track of any exercise you do too.

It's been really helpful for me.

loler · 26/03/2008 09:08

Well done colditz. You prompted me to research my BMI - I am not obese any more, this is a bit of a kick up the rear to get me going again had a week off weighing as had far too much wine and chocolate for the last week. Need to lose another 24lb to have a BMI that is not overweight though!

After watching a tv programme, I've got another target - to get waist below 32 inches as this reduces chance of heart disease and diabetes. Not sure if you're allowed to suck your gut in when measuring as in my case this makes a considerable difference!

lilibet · 26/03/2008 09:16

VVV, I've found a £10 off code and it's £15 cash back on quidco.

Think I really need to do this

SmugColditz · 26/03/2008 11:52

Is anyone eating big portions of low points food?

I find that the portions they give in the book are just not big enough to satisfy me and I would rather skip the treats, or skip breakfast, and have what i think of as a 'filling' meal. So instead of having cheese on 60g of pasta, adding to 5 points, I have 100g of pasta with tinned tomatoes, adding to 5 points.

Does anyone else do this?

Squiffy · 26/03/2008 12:42

Well done colditz.

I went into reverse this week but the pizza express was definately worth it. Added a pound but rather bizarrely seem to have gone down a dress size. size 16 again which sounds almost 'normal' to me, so I am v pleased.

Well i've been to my first ww meeting. Not sure on the leader, she's a bit erm, don't know, just not very leaderish IYSWIM. Maybe it was because it's my first week Anyway I have a starting point so will track from there and wipe out my 'loss' so far, such as it is

Can't decide whether to do points or core, but for today it'll be points since I haven't been shopping and had toast for lunch and before the meeting had had frosties

Hi everyone. Back from IReland and soooo glad that I have missed my weigh in! I definately need an extra week to even stay the same! I was bad for 3 days and it was seriously detrimental. A sneaky weigh in at home shows a 6lb gain!!!! So I am on basic rations at the moment. It was lovely to be back in Ireland though and my nephew's amazing biscuit christening cake was well worth it!!

Nice to see the new comers and well done to all the losers this week. Especially Colditz! What a fab achievement. You should be so proud of yourself.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/03/2008 18:31

Excellent lillibet go for it!

Colditz - i do that. I'd rather fill up on lower points stuff mostly. Which is why I am 'grazing' a lot lately. I'll eat a low points WW snack, then an hour later some fruit, then an hour later a slice of bread, then a little while later some sliced veg and so on. I've pretty much dropped cheese altogether - it's so full of points and for how much you can have - it's not worth it

Eddas · 27/03/2008 07:41

Morning, I just wanted to tell everyone how brilliantly they are doing. Looking at all those loses is inspiring

I'm now on day 2 of ww and I think i've decided to do the core plan. I'm not much of a bread or potato person and love rice and pasta so it seems sensible. I'll try it for this week and see how it goes. Mind you I did points yesterday

So my plan for today's food is shredded wheat and skimmed milk and maybe soup for lunch.Or an omlette. I mad an omlette last night and it was scrummy. Mind you I haven't ever made one before so it wsa pretty much scrambled egg still nice though

Going to make a shopping list today and venture to Tesco tonight once the dc's are in bed.

OP posts:
Eddas · 27/03/2008 08:03

the shredded wheat's not the same without sugar guess i'll get used to it

OP posts:
Ags · 27/03/2008 08:24

Well done Eddas. Sounds like you are getting yourself very organised. I have never done core as I am very much a bread and potato person! But it seems like a very sensible way to do things. Shredded wheat is something I have never been able to do so all respect with or without sugar!

lilibet · 27/03/2008 10:40

What's the best day for a weigh in?

I'm guessign that the day I join ww on line is my weigh in day so I have some control

what do you think?

I'm tending to go for Wednesday

Ags · 27/03/2008 11:04

Lilibet, I have a friend who swears by Wednesday as she can normally make up for any weekend excesses by then. I'm not sure if it makes any proper dietary sense but she likes it!

I used to weigh in on Monday night which I liked but my dh changed jobs and now it is Tuesday morning.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/03/2008 12:46

I do mine on a Monday.

SmugColditz · 27/03/2008 18:27

I do mine on a Tuesday morning.

I made a lovely pasta sauce today, tasted quite sumtious but was point free!

1 tin tomatoes, couple cloves of garlic, 1/2 a pepper, handful of cherry tomatoes, 1 beef oxo cube, a good dash of chilli to taste, 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika, and 1 teaspoon of granulated splenda.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 27/03/2008 18:31

Oooh! That sounds lovely! I might well try that tomorrow!

moodlumthehoodlum · 28/03/2008 17:21

Hello ladies - well done all - you're doing really well.

I have bitten the low fat bullet and joined Slimming World. Went to my first meeting this morning, and the leader of the group is nice, but straight out of Little Britain. Anyway - it seems much more complicated than WW, but I am a bit of a thicko. I think it will take some sensible meal planning, which is no bad thing, I just need to get my head around it.

Colditz that sauce sounds great. I did a really similar thing this morning, and then added some veg stock, and liquidized it, and it was delicious pointless soup.

So, I'm back on this thread now for good until my weight starts with a 10, not a 12! Hooray!!

Ags · 28/03/2008 17:46

Hey Moodlum, good luck with Slimming World. Was deliberating before going back to ww whether I should do sw but went for the familiar in the end. Interested to hear how it goes for you.
