Ozempic - For those of us a few months in

Hi all, thought I would create a designated space outside of the newbie zone for those of us who are in it for the long haul and are a few doses, stone, months down the road.

Another day another article. A "first person" article about Ozempic in the FT. It's calm and sane and makes some good points, especially about what happens when you come off it. She echoes many of thoughts that have been made in this group about creating good habits. My life with Ozempic – a weight-loss diary

Thanks for the Zoe info @Amazonmulu, that's very helpful. I'm still undecided, I may just give it a couple more months to see where I'm at with the Ozempic.

gobbleguts · 14/04/2023 10:17

Forgive me as I haven't read the full thread (I will do that next) but has anyone swapped from Saxenda to Ozempic? Did it work better? And did you start on the lowest ozempic dose?

Peridot1 · 14/04/2023 12:55

Interesting article @mumwheresmyribena - thanks.

Prettybubblesintheair · 14/04/2023 13:28

I also split my dose, I take 0.5 every 3 days (Thursdays and Sundays) I’ve tried doing 1mg once a week and splitting works best for me.

Anyone heard any wegovy news recently? They were saying April but no news yet I don’t think…

My GP started me on Ozempic almost 3 weeks ago and gave me a prescription for enough Ozempic for 3 months and told me then she'd switch me to Wegovy. So she thinks its end of June in UK.

Peridot1 · 14/04/2023 14:27

I wouldn’t get your hopes up @caringcarer! It was supposed to be released last year too.

If Wegovy is not available she'll just keep me on Ozempic.

Thanks for the welcome all! I'm just finishing my 4th week and about to titrate up to 1mg tomorrow. I've lost 7lbs. I don't have any food aversions just finding it so much easier to eat regular/small meals and no snacking. I don't have any symptoms anymore but perhaps that will change with the increased dosage.

Welcome .
Who is your supplier please?
Juniper have said I should wait until month 4 before they prescribe 1mg.

Why on earth are people taking the dosing into their own hands? This isn’t cough medicine! Jeez.

HolibobsinApril · 14/04/2023 17:45

@KaleFairy what doses have you had?

KaleFairy · 14/04/2023 18:12

I am on compounded semaglutide, on .25 for 4 weeks and I mistyped, dosage ups to .5 tomorrow under recommendation and supervision of my Dr. I am not taking the dosing into my own hands like cough medicine.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 14/04/2023 18:56

Hi all, I'm six weeks in now, and think I may be more at home here than on the 'I started Ozempic last night' threads.

My second pen is coming tomorrow, Health express.

I've lost 18.5lbs since I started. My main side effect seems to be being cold, I cannot get warm at all!

Same! I’m constantly freezing!

Where are you getting compound? Are you in the uk?

KaleFairy · 15/04/2023 01:41

I'm in the US, the compounded is SO much cheaper (though still expensive) here. They have compounded tirzepatide as well but I only just learned about it, the glp version seems to be working well, though not as immediately drastic as I expected!

themuminator · 16/04/2023 11:09

I'm coming up to the end of week 8.

Question for those who ordered through QuickMeds, is it a recurring order?! I can't seem to see on the site. They are showing at out of stock so I have to quickly find out and order elsewhere before Friday jab is due.

Peridot1 · 16/04/2023 11:43

I think it’s a one off order @themuminator. Mine was.

Who have you used so far muminator ?

themuminator · 16/04/2023 12:24

@Peridot1 oh bum!

@Beenalongwinter I've used Manual for the first month discount! Then QuickMeds.
Thinking I call them on Monday to see if they actually are completely out of stock. Then try Health Express or somewhere else recommended.

I've actually finally started to shift another couple of lbs so don't want a break right now! I'm a slow loser, 10lbs so far in 7.5 weeks.

Same here so I had to go with juniper I can send you a £50 off code

KaleFairy · 16/04/2023 13:32

I think 10 pounds in 7 weeks sounds sustainable and healthy! You are doing great!

I haven't lost a single pound in 7 weeks, I'd be so pleased with that! Well done, I hope you find a supplier quickly.

themuminator · 16/04/2023 14:20

@KaleFairy thank you. It is really hard when you don't see a big change... I'm still very overweight. But I'm feeling a bit better. Less kind of full around my chest if that makes sense! Size wise only my jeans are feeling a bit less tight.

@msssm how frustrating! I had several weeks where I stayed exactly the same! I do think it's a long game. I went to visit a friend and when I came back several pounds had shifted. Hope it starts moving for you soon.
