“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

It took me a good few minutes to muster up the courage to inject my first one and I felt absolutely nothing!

swallowedAfly · 15/03/2023 16:55

I may be blind but I can't see this product on Manual.

Adarajames · 15/03/2023 17:05

I’ve been thinking about it, am recently diagnosed as diabetic, put on metformin but stopped taking it as made insomnia so bad I literally only got 10-15 mins sleep a night! Got appointment Friday to see what med she wants to give me next, hoping I can convince her to give me one that helps with weight loss as I’m totally broke, but if not, I’ll try and afford it somehow! Does anyone have a discount code please? Or know the current cheapest supplier? Thanks

ErmineAndPearls · 15/03/2023 17:10

@WhereDoesThisToiletGo I’m on fluoxetine, which I reported when I signed up with MyJuniper. I was then asked a few questions about my mental health before I was prescribed Ozempic. I’ve been on it for 5 weeks now. I don’t think there are any contraindications and my experience would back that up. The only thing that I can think of is that some people experience nausea as a side effect. If it became so bad that you were actually sick, then that wouldn’t be good for any (oral) medication.

Thank you for the responses

Out of interest does anyone have more than half their current weight to lose to get to a "NORMAL/HEALTHY" weight like me?

Me. I'm 15st. Should be around 7st for my height.

I've ordered today, supposed to be delivered tomorrow...

Twwodoorsaway · 15/03/2023 18:39

@Diedre44 i suspect I do, I’m a bit scared to check tbh! But I have a huge amount to be even overweight. But week 9 today, and I’ve lost 1.3kg this week, taking me to a total of 7.7kg since January 5th my first injection day. This is amazing for me.

I’ve just looked back at my chart, and between 4 and 8 I only lost 1.3kg, so definitely a bit of a plateau, but plough on through it and it is worth it. Today was my first 1mg jab.

stillavid · 15/03/2023 18:42

Someone asked about exercise. I train with a PT three times a week doing strength training and some cardio and do reformer pilates once a week.

I also do IF and don't eat until 12 noon (just call me Gwyneth if anyone has seen her describe her daily food intake) ;)

I don't calorie count per se but am very aware of what and how much I am eating. I also don't weigh but judge on how my clothes fit and how I look in the mirror. Weighing just depressed me too much but I know it works for many.

I am determined to use this to make changes for life hence upping my exercise etc. But ozempic has made this so much easier.

@Adarajames I'm with Juniper and have a code where you can get £50 off your first payment.

If you want the code pm me as you'll need my details as well, I also get £50 if you use the code.

@WhereDoesThisToiletGo I am on sertraline. No issues with combining the two. Always make sure you declare it with your provider so that you get the correct advice.

Adarajames · 15/03/2023 19:01

@alwayscheery Do they do an option to buy weekly or fortnightly and without the additional coaching so it’s not as expensive?

Yes

alwayscheery · 15/03/2023 19:02

Yes without the coaching. But only monthly

Adarajames · 15/03/2023 19:06

Hmm I can only find the option with coaching, gives me a price for just the pens, but then when I follow it through for the assessment, it adds the coaching and can’t work out how to remove that, any suggestions gratefully received?!

alwayscheery · 15/03/2023 19:20

@Adarajames

Just take the weight loss assessment
And at the end you can select Om.....

I’m starting tomorrow! 😳

Did anyone else start in the 80-85kg range? How much could I expect to lose in the first three or four weeks?

Will it be very noticeable to DH that I’m ‘off’ my food?

alwayscheery · 15/03/2023 20:30

no one other my adult daughter noticed anything. I wonder now was i always eating a huge amount??
I think perhaps i was.
i told my husband because we were going on holiday and he would have seen the pen in the hotel fridge!
but other than him not a soul. And after so many years of weight loss and gain and weight watchers and slimming world and rosemary connely it's my choice to keep it to myself
I love having this group to report into and frankly that's all i need .

Peppermintzz · 15/03/2023 20:43

For those that are already using Ozempic, how long after your first shot did you start to feel the effects (loss of appetite/fullness)? I have just received my first pen but wondering if what I will experience at first will be placebo effect or actual effect. 😊

Immediately. I had it as soon as I got in from work on the day it was delivered last week because I was excited, ate my tea and have felt full ever since. Had my second dose tonight.

Only side effect was extreme thirst, was advised on the thread to call the GP. They suggested diorlylte, had one sachet of that and it appears to have reset the thirst issue.

I'm so happy to not be constantly thinking about food!

I felt it almost immediately but wasn’t sure if it was placebo or not. Not sure it really matters

That’s great! So glad to hear it is working so well for you, I hope it works that well for me. Thanks for the note about being thirsty, will be sure to speak to GP if I have similar.
