“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Going to try going for a run tonight for the first time. Feel like I should be fine since I have zero side effects and was careful to eat enough calories that I shouldn’t struggle, but nervous it’s going to make me feel sick anyway.

www.healthline.com/health/subcutaneous-injection#complications

Sub cut injections would not normally be given into the hip area. The location won't make a difference to nausea.

I said thigh not hip.

I'm not sure my hunger is any less yet. Still on week one.

But I def can't eat the same portion size I usually do.
And I, out of habit, just had a chocolate biscuit after my dinner and it tasted weird.

Is that a thing? It making food taste weird?

Hopingandhopping · 28/03/2023 19:55

Jumping in to this thread for my first post....
I'm planning on starting ozempic soon, I've not bought any yet, I'm in need of any discount codes or money off referrals please, so if there are any please let me know, you're welcome to pm me.
Also is it worth me going back and reading thread one from the start? Can anyone link me to that please?
thank you. Will read all of this thread, have not had a chance to yet

For me anything sweet tastes weird and not as good as it did!

still sadly eating a bit of chocolate out of habit I think.

So I’m really interested in knowing more.

im a prolific yo-yo dieter. Very overweight (maybe 20ish stone- but tall so a size 20/22). I exercise 4 times a week and usually calorie count. People dint believe me when they see how much an eat. I don’t eat all that much (unless I’m not dieting and then im out of control) and I’m still very big.

I also don’t have a gallbladder and that can slow down metabolism.

Any success stories of someone jn a similar situation??

HolibobsinApril · 28/03/2023 20:11

I find when having less sugar the sweet stuff I do have is really really sweet.

Lavendersquare · 28/03/2023 20:12

AllllTheQuestions · 28/03/2023 21:00

@Lavendersquare can the code be used in the U.K. at all?

Lavendersquare · 28/03/2023 21:03

@AllllTheQuestions yes, I'm in the uk and it definitely works. If you want a code drop me a pm as you will need my name etc.

Amandasummers · 28/03/2023 21:04

Hi all, I was pointed in the direction of this thread in the hopes of joining you all. One of the first posts suggests some posters may have referral codes they could offer? I was looking at quick meds but any way of keeping the costs slightly lower would be appreciated! Thank you!

LeanneTen · 28/03/2023 21:04

Hi everyone,
These threads have been so informative and helpful.
I have PCOS and I'm currently taking Metformin. Has anyone used ozempic alongside Metformin?
I'm 27 and was diagnosed at 21 with PCOS. Ive been into fitness and nutrition since I left school at 16 and despite not doing anything differently, training etc, I've got up to 84kg steadily gaining over the years from 60kg. No matter what I do now I just can't lose weight.
After reading all of the threads, I'm thinking about ordering, does anyone have a discount code for healthexpress? Or only myjuniper, I don't really need the weighing scale etc so would rather order from somewhere that just does the pen.
Anyone have PCOS here?
Thanks everyone

Lavendersquare · 28/03/2023 21:05

@Amandasummers I'm using Juniper and have a code for £50 off, if you want it please drop me a pm, as you need to give my name as well for it to work.

Manual will help you get started . Cancel after the first month

msssm · 28/03/2023 22:13

I've just cancelled Manual. Have one week left of my first pen but I've extra needles so will work out how to count the clicks.
I need to order from somewhere else. Is it quickmeds that are the cheapest right now? How does it work with me being a month in? I hope I don't have to start again from the beginning.

Sorry for so many questions. I appreciate any help anyone can give

Yea I started with Manual too
I will go with quick meds next now i understand how it works . Someone gave me a code for manual and I like the support and the coaching and the whatapp group but i feel confident I will be fine with quick meds for second supplier . The initial price and service from manual is really good I am so glad I started.

Anyone got 'ozempic face' after their weight loss? Not going to lie but this worries me :(

What is Ozempic face?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 29/03/2023 07:07

It is that age old thing where they say if you are losing weight there comes a point where you have to choose between your bum or your face.
Weight loss on your face can make people look older. It is just being attributed to ozempic now as lots of people have lost lots of.weight on it.

So far no. I've lost two stone and two more to go and so far it's looking like I might only have a bit of loose skin on the tummy and maybe not even that! I think if you lose at a sensible pace and exercise you might escape the downsides of big weight loss!

Sameiam · 29/03/2023 08:17

A lot of influencers/celebs are using it to go from skinny to super thin so are probably very malnourished as well as the rapid weight loss. Imagine their private doctors are prescribing them bigger doses to begin with. It probably also makes previous Botox/fillers look odd as they would have been designed to suit the face they had and now everything has shifted.

Peridot1 · 29/03/2023 08:19

I have definitely lost weight in my face and around my neck and as I’m late 50s I do look a bit more saggy around the neck. But I’d rather that than the massive big balloon face I used to have. And I generally feel so much better. It’s something I am aware of and I will keep an eye on it going forward. At the moment I would like to lose two more stone having already lost three. But I may revise that if I find I’m losing too much around the face. I don’t think it’s likely as I still have a lot to lose around my stomach.

MiniCooperLover · 29/03/2023 08:42

My face is definitely less puffy (some of that may be because that happens to me when I try to avoid carbs which I'm doing now a bit). I've been moisturising extra and paying more attention to my neck and chin and massaging them a bit each time. It seems to be helping so far.

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 29/03/2023 11:38

Disappointed with today's weigh in, only 0.7kg for week 3 and I've eaten less than I did last week when I lost 2.2kg!
