“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

@BasoonerOrLater me too I just had to answer a few extra health questions from the juniper doctor and I've just had an email to say I've been approved. Whoop. I'm away this weekend so hoping it will arrive and I can start on Monday. So hoping it helps as I feel bad spending it when things are tight for our family x

BasoonerOrLater · 23/03/2023 22:45

@Coconut80 It’s not cheap - but to me it is (or will be, I hope) justified because it’s less than I spend each month on takeaway/junk food, especially including delivery and service fees for Deliveroo/Just Eat.

Sleepdeprived42long · 24/03/2023 06:43

Day 1-tingling in leg passed after a few hours, no major side effects. I have had a headache but I normally get that for the first few days of any diet due to sugar withdrawal! I definitely felt less of an appetite yesterday although I am feeling a bit hungry this morning. Interestingly I’m not hungry for a quick sugar fix though! Off to make myself a fruit smoothie with Greek yogurt and flaxseed! So far, so good I think!

Some questions for longer term users-has anyone bought extra needles from Amazon and if so can you send the link? Given the cost, I’m keen to get every last drop out of this 0.25 pen! Also, is the 0.5 pen the same-more than the 4 weeks and if so how many weeks did you get from it?

AndSoFinally · 24/03/2023 07:10

No, the 0.5mg has just 4x 0.5mg in it

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 24/03/2023 07:17

When I'm due to move up to 0.5 my plan is to request a 1mg pen and count the clicks for a 0.5 dose - therefore getting more for my money.

Sleepdeprived42long · 24/03/2023 07:24

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa that sounds like a good plan. When you say count the clicks, do you mean when you’re turning the dial for the dose? Just trying to get my head round how I would do it!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 24/03/2023 07:29

Yep, exactly that.

MuMuMuuuum · 24/03/2023 07:53

@Sleepdeprived42long the size of the needle you need is on the side of the box.

These are the ones I ordered and have used.

Good morning all. I’ve been a bit of a lurker on and off, but never bit the bullet due to ££ and finally approached my GP to ask about semaglutide or similar on the NHS. She was supportive of that and happy to do so BUT checked with her partners who say I need to go through their weight services… but I’ve been under weight services from my old GP since June 😓 anyway, I’ve found a savings pot squirrelled away and I’m going for Ozempic. Would anyone have a discount or promo code they would kindly PM me? @HermioneWeasley

SOWK · 24/03/2023 08:01

One week in and I’ve lost 4.5lbs, so I’m now 13lb 2. I’ve low carbed and not felt sugar cravings which is usually my downfall. Hoping to see a 12 on the scales next week.

Coconut80 · 24/03/2023 08:09

@BasoonerOrLater you're right, the amount of my ney I spend on junk is easily £5 a day and that is making me overweight and Ill. Hope this is a positive step. How are you feeling on it x

Dogsarebetterthanhumans · 24/03/2023 08:30

RichTeaCheddars · 23/03/2023 19:41

I know it's against the guidance but has anyone increased their dose early?
If so, what week were you on then and now, what effect did it have?

I wouldn’t do it without asking the prescribing doctor first.

if you don’t have a prescribing doctor (I.e. have ordered off the internet) it’s just not worth it. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Think of the long game. The drug was developed to take for life and if you have a really nasty effect from the early increase, you have nowhere to go for help.
Have patience; be the hare that won the race! X

RichTeaCheddars · 24/03/2023 08:38

Thanks. I will stick to the guidelines. I was having a moment of impatience!

TakeMeToKernow · 24/03/2023 08:43

Thank you kind people :)

@TakeMeToKernow sorry to hear about your GP dragging their heels, hopefully they'll prescribe it for you soon, in the meantime if you want a code for £50 off with Juniper drop me a pm and I'll give you the details.

smm88 · 24/03/2023 11:26

I've decided to bite the bullet and try Ozempic. I have a few questions I hope others don't mind me asking.

Roughly how much is it going to cost me a month once I have to increase the dose ?

I can get it from a local aesthetics clinic for £170 a month. Would others do this or save money and get it online. If so where online is currently the cheapest.

Thanks so much

RichTeaCheddars · 24/03/2023 11:48

Lots of info about suppliers already in this thread.

Quickness, ukmeds, manual, juniper
Always same price per pen no matter your dose. Some discount codes floating about.

PACKAGING QUERY

Hi 👋 Can anyone who has ordered from manual (or any of the other sites) tell me whether the packaging is discrete? Do you need to be in to sign for it? Does it come refrigerated somehow?

Thanks 😀

RichTeaCheddars · 24/03/2023 12:01

It came wrapped in an icepack inside an insulated bag. Evri delivered it and as usual the just stick it on the doorstep and run off.
Can't remember what the outer packet looked like

Movinghouseatlast · 24/03/2023 12:27

Hi all. I took the plunge and bought this! However it didn't arrive on next day delivery, but the following day. I'm worried its not going to work as it was not at all cool in the packaging. I rang them and they said as it arrived 2 minutes within the 48 hour time frame that it is OK then it will be OK!

I was so excited about it now just anxious!

MuMuMuuuum · 24/03/2023 12:28

@Dunkindonuts8 it comes in black packaging and is discrete. You really wouldn't know what it is although it is bulky as it has ice packs.

2kidsintow · 24/03/2023 12:30

I dont know if it is of use to anyone but I have a 20% discount referral for ukmeds. https://uk-meds.mention-me.com/m/ol/qd4zo-

They sometimes are out of stock and need to keep checking back to see if they have any. But when they do they are the cheapest place.

Get 20% off at UK Meds

I recently used UK Meds and they gave me a special offer to share with my friends. I’m treating you to an exclusive 20% off your first order. I’ll also get a reward, so it’s a win-win!

I would say that's fine. Once you've started it you can keep it out of the fridge anyway and it can be kept out of the fridge for 6 weeks (I think). So if you're going to use it I would start now to make sure you use it before the 6 weeks is up. It says in the instruction book that it needs to be stored under 30°c so if you're in the UK it wouldn't have got to a higher temp than that. Just check the liquid in the pen is clear and not cloudy before you use. I remember how nerve wracking the first dose is, but after the first week the anxiousness went away.

AndSoFinally · 24/03/2023 12:44

@Dunkindonuts8 I order mine from Mayfair and they stipulate you must be in to receive it. The delivery company won't leave it

Sameiam · 24/03/2023 12:52

My partner took mine in and had no idea what it was. He knows I’m taking it though, I wouldn’t want to be keeping it a secret just in case of side effects or trying to pretend I’ve already eaten etc when my appetite isn’t much.

was hungry yesterday but ate a decent number of calories (probably 1600?) and back today to feeling like I’m not that hungry and also not thinking about chocolate. Be interesting to see what happens with second dose on Sunday.
