“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Mortigua, thank you for your message, I hope it works for us! It’s so frustrating trying to shift the weight isn’t it? Sorry for late reply, been training in Teams and it’s quite tiring!

mumwheresmyribena · 23/03/2023 11:26

Maybe not @Btrsun10 but it can make you feel very unwell when you're taking Ozempic. It's a quite often reported side-effect.

Dressshelp · 23/03/2023 11:44

I don’t suppose anyone has a juniper code? I am swopping over from manual as they seem to be ages to deliver at the mo. Has anyone else found this or have I just been unlucky?!

I'll PM you. Found Juniper really quick to deliver. Got approved on the Tuesday and delivered on the Thursday.

Thank you so much! It took over a week for manual last time, I don’t want to run out of my first pen before the second arrives!

Hi everyone - could someone please share a referral code for Juniper with me? Many thanks :)

Hi ladies, thankyou for this interesting and informative thread. I've just submitted my health questionnaire and paid for ozempic with my juniper. I am 51 and three stone to lose. iIm vegetarian/vegan and addicted to sugar, carbs and chocolate. I feel if I don't do it now I'll never do it. Also just starting hrt if boots can source it due to the shortages. So looking forward to being a new woman I hope.

Anyone using my juniper can I ask if the personal health coach or online community are any good and worth using. Thankyou in advance ladies, great to hear how you are all getting along with this drug x

KaleFairy · 23/03/2023 15:32

Yes the compounded semaglutide is the non-branded vial. It's mixed with b-12 and something for nausea. My insurance is notorious for denying wegovy even with qualifying risk factors, so it would have been $1300 a month! Non-approved Olympic would have been cheaper at $900 a month, but it also has a dosage limit. I'm able to get the compounded semaglutide for $200 a month, so I'm hopeful it will work the same, I have read some promising results online. Measuring and administering my own shots is not a barrier for me (I know it would be for some) I had GD so I've done it before!

orangelotus · 23/03/2023 16:00

I used my juniper to begin with and they are informative and the delivery was very well
packaged. I thought the info was basic but i am a veteran dieter but then again if i was a successful veteran dieter i wouldn't be here messaging you!!
they made me stay on 0.5 for 8 weeks probably because of a 1mg pen shortage.
you can stop the subscription very easily.
I changed to quickmeds purely because of cost it works out to £149 per month if you use the code SAVE5
so far i have found them to be reliable.
Good luck i really hope you get on ok and it's good to read other people's stories whether good or bad we can all learn from them

mumwheresmyribena · 23/03/2023 16:15

You may be in a tiny minority here @KaleFairy(but welcome all the same) 🙂

Wegovy isn't available in the UK yet @KaleFairy and we don't have publicly available compounding pharmacies either. We're currently, technically limited to Ozempic max 1mg dose, although there is definitely a few people who are privately prescribed 2 x 1mg pens for 2mg doses

Sameiam · 23/03/2023 17:40

Day four and first dose definitely wearing off. Spent my afternoon meeting daydreaming about the Easter egg in the cupboard and feeling v hungry.

AlternativelyWired · 23/03/2023 18:23

It's not wearing off, it's building up in your body to the right concentration. The side effects might well be wearing off but the drug itself will still be working. It can take up to 8 weeks to reach the maximum level in your system.

I have bought the weight loss injection to reduce appetite so I lose more weight than with dieting alone. This is how it has been sold to me. What I am taking it for, as are lots of ladies on here. I don't understand why you jump on people when they say the effects are wearing off?

alwayscheery · 23/03/2023 19:40

I am on day 6 and I can feel the effect is wearing off a little too , my appetite has increased today, I am hoping my second dose will resolve the change.

RichTeaCheddars · 23/03/2023 19:41

I know it's against the guidance but has anyone increased their dose early?
If so, what week were you on then and now, what effect did it have?

Sameiam · 23/03/2023 19:48

I’ve not actually had any side effects, just quite pleasant ones of being less hungry and being unbothered by chocolate. Both are creeping back in. like anything with a half life, the potency will decrease as time goes on.

BasoonerOrLater · 23/03/2023 19:49

Thanks to @LadyFarnborough for the referral code :)

Have only read this thread so far but will be trying to make time to go back and read the rest. I’m six months PP with DD, but to be honest I never lost the weight from being pregnant with DS (he was born in 2019).

Have lost just over a stone since end of Oct but cravings have got out of control. Current BMI is 35, need to lose just over 4 stone to be at the top of “normal”. Placed my order with Juniper and it’s arriving tomorrow.

looking forward to following your journeys!

OzHopes · 23/03/2023 21:27

I’ve just had my second dose tonight of ozempic .25. I’ve lost 4lbs in the past week and only felt a little light headed and nauseous last Friday but was fine going into work. It’s been an easy week, made good food choices and unbothered by sugar/bad carbs etc so feeling very motivated right now.

I feel similar although it's only been 48hrs since my first shot. I'm not particularly hungry but also not feeling constantly full either - it's more of a neutral, unbothered state if that makes sense. Not bothered by what I eat, don't fancy anything in particular and no cravings for anything like I normally have. It's a very odd feeling. Did wonder if it's just a placebo effect but there's no way my food obsessed brain would fall for that two days in a row 😂

2kidsintow · 23/03/2023 21:49

Hi.
Do ALL 0.25 pens contain more than the 4 doses they say they do? I've seen references to containing enough for 4 x 0.25 and 2 x 0.5 and I can't see on the packaging for where I'm looking to see if the pen I have is the same.

I have the blue 0.25 pen.

Yes all pens contain more than 4 doses at 0.25mg

Yes I’m exactly the same! No way I’d not think of food normally - it’s been a holiday from all the food chatter, such an amazing feeling to be unbothered. Hope it continues!!
