“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

PACKAGING QUERY

Hi 👋 Can anyone who has ordered from manual (or any of the other sites) tell me whether the packaging is discrete? Do you need to be in to sign for it? Does it come refrigerated somehow?

Thanks 😀

I ordered from manual the packaging is plain. They left mine in the post box.
The packaging was warm on the outside but very cool inside I fact I kept the packaging for 24 hrs and the inner gel cooler thing was still cold, mine arrived within 14 hrs of ordering.

I've decided to bite the bullet and try Ozempic. I have a few questions I hope others don't mind me asking.

Roughly how much is it going to cost me a month once I have to increase the dose ?

I can get it from a local aesthetics clinic for £170 a month. Would others do this or save money and get it online. If so where online is currently the cheapest.

Thanks so much

I ordered at the initial price of £129 and intend to swop to another supplier once the dose increases. You can get 6 weeks from the Manual .25 pen if you keep it in the fridge. And then Use another discount code somewhere else.

Dunkindonuts8 · 24/03/2023 14:35

Thanks everyone it's good to know that the packaging is discrete x

Btrsun10 · 24/03/2023 15:17

Mine came in a brown cardboard box with just my name and address on it.
Nothing else at all on box - could have been from anywhere.
Inside was a funny white cooling packaging and an ice pack both of which I've kept as I think they may come in handy sometime.....maybe.
Anyway, definitely very very discreet thankfully as I got mine delivered to work.

Sameiam · 24/03/2023 15:23

Good luck with the weekend everyone! Read some horror stories of alcohol + ozempic so hopefully nobody feels too rough if they indulge.

UsernameFail · 24/03/2023 16:28

Thanks @2kidsintow for the voucher.
It's presently out of stock but I'll keep trying.

For those already using - have you drink any alcohol? Im wondering the side effects

BMI QUESTION

Sorry, me again 🙈

Does anyone who is in the 27 to 30 BMI bracket take ozempic on this thread? Has it had the same affect as for those over BMI 30?

MiniCooperLover · 24/03/2023 18:22

Dunkindonuts8 BMI of 27-30 (certainly at least 27) to me sounds like a BMI that could be worked on without this type of medication? There's also quite a bit of difference between 27 and 30. 27 is only just over and 30 is quite a lot over. I think there's a reason it's only sold for 30 and over and that's because that's the obese range.

MuMuMuuuum · 24/03/2023 19:24

@UsernameFail after 3 drinks over a very long lunch I had awful vomiting. It seems to vary from person to person but for me never again!

I have said this to many people previously but I think this one really depends.

I mean for starters you’re not going to lose weight as fast as someone with more weight to lose as you have little to lose. The body just won’t do it. This is borne out in all the studies where the rate of weight loss slows down.

More importantly though, if you have no additional factors impeding your weight loss such as thyroid, PCOS, weight gaining medication, epigenetic factors, I would say do it naturally and feel great for it every time. This is heavy duty stuff to be putting into your body, designed to be for life. And I say this as someone trained and qualified in human physiology and anatomy. I have low thyroid, epigentic factors and weight gaining meds to counteract so for me it was a no-brainer but if you have nothing else stopping you, go for it with diet and exercise. Save the money for that holiday! I would! Xx

I’m at the end of day 2-no nausea but definitely feeling bloated and constipated. Was craving something sweet so made myself a very milky hot chocolate. Anyone else feel the bloating/constipation? Anything help or just give it more time?

RichTeaCheddars · 24/03/2023 21:14

Psyllium husk tablets from somewhere like Holland and Barrett work for constipation and to keep things regular

After losing a stone so far my bmi is now 29.3 (original bmi was 31). I am still 2 st 1lb overweight. I will be taking Ozempic until I get into the healthy weight bracket. I am hoping it will only take another two months to do so.

Just to add, I lost 1 stone in less than a month so a lot faster than others who have much more to lose. It has really suppressed my appetite though. Making sticking to a diet so much easier.

QuickMeds delivered after 2 days, discreet brown box, shoe box size with cool pack, DH ended up signing for it I said it was some new fancy eyelash serum. Have decided to only tell one IRL friend because people can be judgmental. I'm taking my second dose tomorrow and this first week has me convinced this is a good thing for me. I have never found it so easy to restrict calories (the only thing that works for me). Also my biggest downfall is I that love wine and I've had zero alcohol cravings. However on one occasion I had a few glasses socially. No side effects but just didn't really get tipsy, very interesting.
I've happily eaten exceptionally well and small portions, ie wholegrain, vegetables and protein, and haven't even thought about cheese, snacks, chocolate. Feel very sated and not deprived.
Haven't weighed myself because that's a trigger for me (long story) but my clothes are already looser and I can see it on my face. My goal is going from a size 18-20 to feeling comfortable in 14-16.

For full disclosure, and probably TMI: I've had loose BM every day except one. Not explosive diarrhea, I can "hold it in" if I have to (sorry!) but also not great.

my bmi was 27.6 last Sunday with my first dose. Obviously been too short a time to see much result but I can let you know.

mumwheresmyribena · 24/03/2023 23:33

I take a dessert spoon of Psyllium husk (not powder) twice a day. I put it in a small glass add a dash of fruit squash and a couple of inches of water. Down it in one before it starts to thicken. It looks discusting but just tastes of like bitty squash - the Psyllium doesn't have a taste. You can also add it to smoothies, porridge, yoghurt etc.

Hi, I'd like to join this tread. I have a underactive thyroid and in past GP kept me on minimum medication and I felt crap and piled on weight. Now my BMI is 60. I am up to 22 stone but I'm only 5 foot so look and feel gross. I'm breathless most of the time and have very poor mobility. My GP has now agreed I can have injectable weight loss drug. I asked for Wegovy but not sure what I'm getting. I'm collecting prescription from chemist on Monday and have to take to nurse next Wednesday. She is going to show me what to do and how to use it. All I've been told is I will start on a low dose for a month. I also have to see dietician for weigh in each week. I'm scared but excited. I have a question to ask those who have lost 4 or 5 stone. Do you have baggy skin? I'm a bit worried about loosing weight quickly but being left with baggy skin. I'll report back after Wednesday. I'm booking a holiday for end of October anticipating I'll be stones lighter by then. Can hardly believe it can happen.

Realistically? You’re going to end up with excess skin even if it’s not fast loss if you get down under a bmi of 30. A friend of mine was about the same weight and lost a lot, she did it through slimming world in probably a slower way than wegovy, but still had the excess skin to deal with. Good news is that with clothes on you can hardly tell! I think she ended up paying about £6k to get it removed privately. If you only lose four or five stone then you might not have the same issue.

you might find you can start doing low weights and swimming as you start losing as well, which will help to tone, and you’ll find you’re actually pretty strong already from just day to day activities (imagine someone 8 stone carrying a 14 stone backpack round all day!).

sounds like you’ll have all the medical support you’ll need though, so they should be able to give you a realistic picture of what to expect. Can they put you in touch with someone who has lost that sort of weight to give you an honest idea of what it’s going to be like?

@Diedre44 I currently weigh 22 stone and I should weigh about 8 stone as only 5 foot tall. I do have underactive thyroid and before this I was a size 12 for years even after having 2 children and weighed 8 stone. Then thyroid stopped working and even though given Levothyroxine not felt good since and keep putting on weight. I feel like a runaway train. Starting injections on Wednesday and can't wait. So excited and relieved.

Amazonmulu · 25/03/2023 07:42

It's only been two days but I've lost 4lb. I was a BMI 31 so have a fair chunk to lose but even then it seems fast. I'm guessing it's water weight and will slow down.

I felt no nausea so far and not bloated. I do eat a high fibre diet anyway and had just under 1600kcal each day. With lots and lots of water.

All I can say is I wish I hadn't waited so long!

I'm a bit worried as away with work from Sunday, and travelling by train. I get sever vertigo which is worse in a moving vehicle - so I hope that doesn't trigger nausea in conjunction with Ozempik 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is anyone else counting clicks from a 0.5 pen for 0.25 doses? How are you finding it?

Peridot1 · 25/03/2023 07:59

@caringcarer - it’s great your doctor has prescribed it for you. It’s a shame they didn’t sort your thyroid properly though to help you earlier.

It will be Ozempic you will get I’d say as Wegovy is not yet available here. They are the same drug. Ozempic comes in lower doses.

I have lost 3 stone and I have some loose skin. I’m probably a lot older than you and I’ve been overweight a long time. You may well get some loose skin but as @Sameiam says you can try to mitigate it a bit with exercise.

Good luck. It’s been a game changer for me. Your health will benefit so much from losing weight.

2kidsintow · 25/03/2023 09:47

UK meds seems to get new stock on a Monday for things it has been out of stock with later the previous week.

The price is good so it is no surprise they are not always in stock I suppose. I got my first ones elsewhere but hope that I can get my next pen when they are in stock.

ZiggZagg · 25/03/2023 10:16

If anyone needs a 20% code for uk meds pm me and I'll send it to you Wink
