“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

What is your BMI? Do you have any comorbidities?

tummatina · 21/03/2023 18:22

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 21/03/2023 16:56

Doctor says they can’t comment it will need to be looked at by local nhs weight management service. I reckon they won’t know either so thinking to just go private?

could you email the drug manufacturers? All pharamaceuticsl companies will have the most up to date data. Absolutely no point in messing with your overall health.

I have been declined by all 3 companies and am unsure how people are getting the injection I am overweight but bmi is not obese but I've seen people comment they only have a few pounds to loose how are they getting it prescribed?

I only got it with a bmi under 30 because I also have pcos.

I think a lot of people are probably lying on the numbers. They ask for photo evidence only and it’s easy to take a bad photo. Or are short so those few pounds to lose makes a big bmi difference.

Bit of a long shot here, has anyone been on SSRIs or anti-psychotics and taken Wegovy?

I'm on an SSRI. No issues.

AlternativelyWired · 21/03/2023 18:44

@hasitreallybeenthatlong did they say why they wouldn't let you have it? I've not seen anyone on here say they only have a few pounds to lose but a few with a BMI that is lower than 30 but with comorbidities that mean they fit the prescribing criteria. What is your BMI?

blueblueelectricblue28 · 21/03/2023 18:51

Well! First dose done a few hours ago. 0.25mg is 18 clicks of the pen and that’s what I did. Can’t believe how easy and painless it was (and I am pretty squeamish!)
pen is 1.5mg so that should do me 6 weeks.
One of the leaflets from Manual says I shouldn’t see results until 0.5mg is reached…. But it sounds like a lot of you here have had good results in the first month just on 0.25. Let’s see!

Kidsaregrim · 21/03/2023 18:51

Wegovy can increase the risks of suicidal thoughts, depression and other abnormal behaviours but not really much information on anxiety. If you get a private prescription I would have someone that you trust know that you are taking it so they can be more vigilant on your mood. If you are under mental health services I would also recommend regular assessments. The problem is, it’s not a tablet you can just stop taking and from what I have read the longer you are on it the longer it takes to leave your system.

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 21/03/2023 18:59

@Kidsaregrim do you mean you can’t just stop Wegovy or did I misunderstand?

Kidsaregrim · 21/03/2023 19:08

@HangerLaneGyratorySystem yes as it’s an injection so you will have a weekly dose rather than daily, you will be able to stop it but it won’t be as fast as stopping a tablet

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 21/03/2023 19:24

Thanks @Oigetoffmylawn and @tummatina

You need to go and see a specialist endocrinologist who will assess you and is more likely to prescribe if you commit to good diet and exercise. X

Thanks, I’m very tempted to try.

how many times a day do you Inject and what time do you do it?

Once a week on the same day. Evening/nighttime was recommended on my information from Manual.
there’s plenty of good info on these threads, everyone has been very helpful!

Snowfallsucks · 21/03/2023 21:11

I’ve also read it’s very good at helping with IBS D as it slows your digestion down. This would be an added bonus to me as I suffer from loose, frequent BMs almost daily. Has anyone noticed this?

LadyFarnborough · 21/03/2023 21:21

Just done my first shot. Not really sure what to expect now! Spent ages plucking up the courage to put the needle in only to feel the grand total of nothing!

MartinCraneAstronaut · 21/03/2023 21:25

Hello everyone! Does anyone have a referral code for Juniper?

£145 with the discount code

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/03/2023 23:38

How is everyone feeling?
Day 4 here and still stunned at how fast and effective this has been for me.
Only managed some overnight oats for late breakfast/early lunch (no time to boil egg) so was significantly more hungry at dinner but still less than 700 kcal/day on average (too little I know).
I've tried restricting calories in the past (most effective method for me) and this is a doddle compared to doing it without help.
I just don't think about food and don't feel hungry/hangry!
I have a lot to lose but I feel optimistic.
BM not perfect for the 1st 3 days, but today normal.

SilkySuky · 22/03/2023 06:16

Day 17 and I'm getting really vivid dreams, normally I don't remember dreaming. Anyone else?

JustFuckOffPlease · 22/03/2023 06:32

Did anyone manage to make themselves a note of the discount codes before the thread was removed?

I match the criteria but money is tight - I'd really appreciate giving them a try though.

I'm ex athlete with several injuries and post menopause so my weight has ballooned. And I'm shorter than the average woman too.

Can anyone PM me? I'd be so grateful.

@SilkySuky - yes I did and my friend is too. Weird isn’t it?

GettingThereCharleyBear · 22/03/2023 07:26

@Lavendersquare please could you pm me the discount code too? Thank you 😊
