“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Lavendersquare · 22/03/2023 08:39

@GettingThereCharleyBear I've just sent you a pm with a Juniper code.

JustFuckOffPlease · 22/03/2023 06:32

Did anyone manage to make themselves a note of the discount codes before the thread was removed?

I match the criteria but money is tight - I'd really appreciate giving them a try though.

I'm ex athlete with several injuries and post menopause so my weight has ballooned. And I'm shorter than the average woman too.

Can anyone PM me? I'd be so grateful.

Definitely take your first injection early evening that way you seem to get the full benefit the next day.

gettingolderbutcooler · 22/03/2023 09:11

Getting mine today.
Does it matter what time of the day I inject?
Thanks! 😀

Day 17 and I'm getting really vivid dreams, normally I don't remember dreaming. Anyone else?

I never normally remember dreams but while I was taking Ozempic I had some really vivid ones

Yes! I injected for the first time on Monday, and the last couple of nights have had some spectacular dreams, I woke up today wondering if there was a link.

The leaflet recommends evening and I found it works well at this time.

So I posted yesterday about receiving my pen and I had intended to start tonight.
I'm terrified! I've been reading and reading and have scared the life out of myself.
I'm not afraid of feeling a bit sick etc. It's the more serious side effects.
Also, taking it without my Drs approval.
I've a BMI of 32 and desperate to lose weight.
Has everyone on here informed their Dr? And had the nod the go ahead.
I'm having visions of really awful side effects and the shame associated with taking up NHS time if something goes wrong!

Btrsun10 · 22/03/2023 10:17

Also, terrified to inject in the evening and then get really sick in the night. I'm living alone.

I took my first shot last night. Absolutely fine, no issues.

I don’t think I’ve even got a doctor! I moved up here 12 months ago and never had to go see one for anything. I can never be bothered faffing with calling up and waiting ages and going for an appointment so tend to do everything online if it’s just medication for something.

I also would never have been approved as my bmi is too low (although still overweight and pcos and carry it all dangerously round my tummy). The dose approved for weight loss is now 2.5mg for wegovy, so I’m not too worried about 0.25. Day three now and no side effects other than my tummy being a bit noisy after eating and strange dreams.

you can always come off if you don’t like it before you even get off the introduction doses.

Please don't worry.
About side effects
About the injections
About wasting NHS resources .
Take one week at a time.
You can stop after the first week .
Just worry about finding smaller clothes.

I am 4 days in and 4llb down already.
Drink lots of water or herbal tea.

I can only thank the person who tempted me with a discount code .

Manual also have helpful whatapp groups. But the support here is just as good.

Thanks guys. 😊
I'm so ready to do this. I lost 3 stone about 5 years ago doing Keto. I enjoyed it and found it relatively simple to follow.
Then my dad died and other crap and I've been in a downward (upward re weight) spiral since.
I used to exercise and hill walk and love being outside. I felt great and all my aches and pains melted away with the fat. I've now lost all my confidence, feel terrible and have tried every diet going. My brain sabotages me at every turn! Also, I've been diagnosed with arthritis the consultant tells me the best thing I can do is lose weight!
I want to do it and more than that I NEED to do it.
I'm hoping to pluck up all my courage and jump on board tonight.

I’ve got sicker than anyone else on this thread I think with the result that I felt I wanted to stop taking Ozempic. But even with me… you get warning if the drug is going to make you vomit. I woke up occasionally feeling nauseous … then I was sick a few minutes later. There’s enough time to get to the bathroom. And once I was sick I would feel normal immediately afterwards. It’s not that scary tbh it’s just unpleasant. And you will probably be luckier than me since most people don’t get as sick as me on it.
You can inject whatever time of day suits you and feels safest to you. Though I do think all times are safe, maybe the morning would be better for you if it would give you less anxiety.

Well done, it really feels like a huge decision but a few days in and I have no idea why I didn't take the leap months ago. I am also going to get my vitamin levels and Vitamin D checked I can't wait to get out ramblings and enjoy the Fresh air and exercise . Before covid I walked miles but it's been downhill ever since.

mumwheresmyribena · 22/03/2023 12:45

I'm taking it with my Dr's blessing @Btrsun10. After having very few issues with my weight well into my 60s, an accident in 2020 left me unable to weight-bear for a year and with restricted mobility up until mid-late last year. My weight has shot up, BMI 34 and my muscle has wasted.

I'm now (really happily) on a mission to build that muscle back and get fitter but was finding it hard to shift the weight despite low carbing, and cico for 6 months. I have asthma too, it's well controlled but the weight was seriously hampering my ability to get stronger and healthier. I asked my GP if there was anything else I could add to the armory LC and cico, swimming, yoga, weights, rowing machine and walking). He told me about Ozempic, explained he couldn't prescribe it but would happily support me if I wanted to go down that route. I'm only 5 weeks in but it's all going fine ATM. 5.4kg lost, this week losing quite slowly but that's absolutely fine, bloods are good but they always have been, blood pressure is down from a high normal to base-normal.

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 22/03/2023 18:33

2 weeks in I've lost 5.5kg so far.
3.3kg week 1
2.2kg week 2
34.5kg to go (ugh)

Sameiam · 22/03/2023 19:46

Day 3 and I’m feeling hungrier today! Although I’ve only eaten about 300 calories for lunch and no snacks so probably why. I’m sort of working on 1000 calories a day so just put some more cream in my dinner to bump it up (peanut butter chicken curry with cauli rice).

Down about 2kg since Sunday but I think that is largely due to eating badly last week (lots of birthday cake and three takeaways) so probably would have lost it anyway.

75kg now, 13 to go.

Amazonmulu · 22/03/2023 20:10

Took my first dose today at 6:30.

I feel quite anxious but also excited.

I just want the constant thoughts of food to go away 🤞🏻

gettingolderbutcooler · 22/03/2023 20:24

@alwayscheery thanks! Did it about 5.
Wow those needles are painless!

Yes the desire to constantly eat just stops !

Yes it's incredibly easy 😊

I honestly don’t think adding more fat to a meal just to bump up calories is a good idea. You need protein! Not least because the side effects of too much fat on ozempic can be unpleasant.

i’m on week 5. Weigh in on Friday morning, currently 10lb down.

I would struggle to eat more protein! There was 300g of chicken in my dinner and I I just ate sliced ham and sausage for lunch. Adding non meat to my food is where I struggle.
