“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

My order has been dispatched. I'm a bit apprehensive about it, but have some diabetes in the family, and I have been diagnosed with a fatty liver. Treatment is weightloss. I've lost some on my own, but am hoping to support that with the use of ozempic, and have the blood-sugar stabilising benefits too, to hopefully reverse it if I am pre-diabetic (as yet not tested but I wouldn't be surprised!).

I've ordered one pen but am cancelling the recurring order until I know whether it suits or whether I get side effects I'm not happy with.

From what I read, some sickness and indigestion could be negated by choosing how much and what you eat.

Peridot1 · 20/03/2023 17:19

@GettingThereCharleyBear - these are the NICE guidelines.

there is also lots of info on various sites if you Google.

Very impressed with the efficiency and speed of Manual so far. Ordered on Saturday, order approved on Monday morning, dispatched today and set to arrive tomorrow via Royal Mail.
i’ll do my first jab tomorrow night. Feeling nervous but excited!

tummatina · 20/03/2023 18:10

good luck !! it's such a great feeling to be taking control

ZiggZagg · 20/03/2023 18:18

Day 5 for me and I'm just astounded by how much of an impact it is having on my eating habits. I'm trying to eat but really could take or leave it. Have ended up mainly having one snack (piece of fruit) and then dinner. I'm not weighing until Thursday but I'm feeling great in myself and not having too many side effects other than feeling really full, really quickly (which I suppose is the point and good!)

I've just stir fried chicken, rice and broccoli in soy sauce and it's really hit the spot.

Not sure if it’s placebo but found that my normal Coke Zero tastes a bit flat and tasteless. Also tried a bit of chocolate and it doesn’t taste as good as it usually would.

Ozempic has this effect on me. I can still taste my food but it's all a bit bland so removes the incentive to indulge.

I've had no appetite at all today, felt really full all day. I'm having to force myself to eat enough calories. It's such an odd sensation when I've binged my entire life.

Rapunzel91 · 20/03/2023 21:37

For those asking for discount codes I have £50 off with Juniper. Just PM me:)

Amazonmulu · 20/03/2023 21:47

I have lurked on the last few threads and finally bit the bullet today. My first pen arrives tomorrow eeek!

I've gone with QuickMeds. No GP communication, or photos needed. There was a phone consultation which was really helpful. They advised low carb and high fibre and high protein foods. They also sent a link to some exercise videos that I should start to do - 5-6min a day.
I run twice a week and walk the dog each day.

I've opted to start with a 0.5 pen which I plan to use with fewer clicks so it dispenses 0.25.

I'm 14st now and BMI 31. I'm hoping Ozempic helps my cravings and takes the food noise away - I want chocolate nearly all the time... and that's on top of a healthy Mediterranean style diet. I could easily eat a jar or Nutella without feeling sick or full. It's delicious but I feel so much shame and embarrassment 🙈

Has anyone done Keto while on the injections? Does it work ok or does eating fat from Keto cause nausea?

Also does anyone have a link for additional needles from Amazon?

GettingThereCharleyBear · 20/03/2023 22:50

@Peridot1 i definitely tick all the boxes. Thank you 😊

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 21/03/2023 01:47

Day 3 for me on 0.25 and I am stunned at how sated and full I feel on very little food (too little, really). All I wanted for dinner was I 144 kcal fish cake for heavens sake! DH offered me another half, could not even go there. Had a boiled egg and baby portion of oats earlier in the day, felt stuffed like after Christmas lunch but not uncomfortable. No side effects so far. Trying to make sure the small meals I have are decent nutritional value (overnight oats, chicken, fish, veg + multi vitamin). My BMI is 35+ and I need to lose at least 4st, I suspect my insulin resistance was/is pretty high although not pre diabetic (yet). The carb cravings are just... gone. As well as my nightly desire for a glass or three of wine. It's bonkers, in a great way. So happy I gave this a go (so far!).

pisspants · 21/03/2023 07:03

I'm the morning after day 5 (took my first 0.25 jab last weds night) and haven't had any side effects. I agree that my interest in good is totally gone, I'm having to make myself eat at times but only need to eat a small amount and have lost the constant thinking about what I'm going to stuff my face with next! Weight loss wise I've lost 3lb so far and am feeling so positive as have struggled to even lost a pound a week on my own before. I've got 3 stone to lose and really think this is how I'm going to get there finally!

mumwheresmyribena · 21/03/2023 07:37

Interesting opinion article in New Yorker magazine about Ozempic and how it may be changing attitudes to obesity from moral issues to health related biological issues. www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/03/27/will-the-ozempic-era-change-how-we-think-about-being-fat-and-being-thin

Mortigua · 21/03/2023 07:50

Starting today so would love to join. I’m really nervous about side effects but hoping for good results . I’ve been reading for a while, going to do it before bed in the hope that’s a better time .

I’m going to be doing keto from today on them, but keto as in meat plus veg not keto as in bulletproof coffee and tons of bacon.

although one of my favourite lunches is smoked sausage and smoked cheese so I’ll let you know how that goes. Imagine the 0.25 dose isn’t high enough to cause massive problems.

Prettybubblesintheair · 21/03/2023 07:57

Anyone know why the discount thread got deleted?!

Peridot1 · 21/03/2023 08:03

Really interesting article @mumwheresmyribena. Thanks for sharing it.

@Prettybubblesintheair - probably as it could be seen to be advertising companies. Which is not allowed. I did wonder if it would be around for long.

Kidsaregrim · 21/03/2023 08:07

@pisspants
you are the same day as me with the same amount of weight to lose!

I haven’t weighed in yet was thinking I would do it tomorrow morning, I’ve had a bit of light headedness and some reflux but nothing unmanageable!

wouldn’t it be nice to lose 3lb a week every week lol that would mean all of our excess weight would be off by the end of June 🤣

mumwheresmyribena · 21/03/2023 08:15

The only time I had any issues with Ozempic was while I was in .25 and ate roasted Mediterranean veg for dinner. I'd eaten it before with no issues but slipped with the oil while browning the aubergine so the whole dish was oilier then normal. I wasn't actually ill but I did feel "urghh" for the rest of the evening. Otoh, I've eaten plenty of cheese while on Oz and not had any issues. I don't keto though just keep carbs around 100.

Anyone know why the discount thread got deleted?!

I don't know, possibly because it's purely for codes, if anyone wants a My Juniper code for £50 off, just pm me for the details.

Lavendersquare · 21/03/2023 08:30

Exactly 21 days since my first dose and I'm 12lb lighter.

Only 2lb off this week but I'm still feeling the effects on my appetite and eating far less than I used to. Mother's Day was interesting this year as I just could not finish my restaurant meal - that's definitely never happened before 😀

Snowfallsucks · 21/03/2023 08:35

I’m interested in this, just looked at Juniper and it says £195 a month. Is that just the first month or are all months £195?

Amazonmulu · 21/03/2023 08:36

@Sameiam I'd be really keen to know how you get on!

My pet arrives today and I'm not sure if to start using it from today 😱

Circa1840 · 21/03/2023 08:39

So I have made the 1 stone mark... on day 25! Unbelievable. Easiest stone I have ever lost.
@Lavendersquare amazing results too. Well done. Yes, I had to really force myself to eat the roast dinner lovingly prepared baby my children!

Spanielears · 21/03/2023 08:49

Hi everyone, I’m new to this but impressed by what I’ve heard. I’m currently at 14 stone and need to lose about 5 stone to be healthy, I’ve tried most things but like many have found, nothing seems to shift it.

I’ve just started a work from home job and if I don’t do something soon I can only see it getting worse! Every time I look in the mirror I hate myself, and my clothes are uncomfortable.

can I join you all on your journey please? I like the look of my juniper, does anyone want to PM me with their name so I can put it in the friend space? No worries if not xx

Thank you all, this group looks really supportive 😀
