“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Hi Everyone, well done 👏🏼 to everyone 👏🏼 with their successes.

I am starting on Monday & wondered if there are any other newbies who would like a thread for us all? So we can support one another on our weight loss journey.

We seem to have a mixture of starters on here & I know I have sometimes just been trawling through to find other people like me who are going to start.

I have ordered Manual & I know I will have to purchase from elsewhere before they charge me the full amount of £199 from the second month.

Can anyone recommend where I can buy it cheaper? I am in the UK

Now I know from my GP that they aren’t allowed to prescribe Wegovy only a specialist weight clinic can which I have been referred to since July 2022 & I am still waiting!!! Is Wegovy even in stock over here? I’m sure I have read that it isn’t here yet but I could be wrong. Just wondering if anyone knows any different?

Also is there any difference between Wegovy & Ozempic? They both contain Semalgutide?

I don’t think Wegovy is available in the U.K. yet. There is talk of it being available soon in high street pharmacies like Boots & Superdrug, but people will still need a private prescription unless they meet strict criteria and can get it on the NHS. Wegovy is the same as Ozempic, just marketed for weight loss rather than as a treatment for Diabetes.

Finally did my fist injection last night. Was much easier than expected. Chose to do it in my leg, didn’t feel it at all. Didn’t sleep well but perhaps that’s because I was over excited after working myself up to do it.😂. No other side effects, yet🤞🏻

Rosie219 · 18/03/2023 07:24

Hi everyone. I also had my first injection yesterday. I went for Manual, £129 for the 0.25 pen. I haven't noticed any effects either so far. The thing I'm most worried about is nausea as I had terrible nasauea and vomiting during all my pregnancies!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 18/03/2023 07:38

Morning,

There seem to be a lot of brand new people or people about to start so I thought I'd give an over view of my first ten days as thought it might help - feel free to ignore. 😂

I felt full immediately after my first injection and that hasn't gone away.

I felt mildly nauseous for the first couple of days but this didn't happen after my second injection.

I was mega mega thirsty, spoke to my GP, took a diorylte and that went away.

I cannot stomach high fat foods at all - I made a cheese and ham omelette and only managed half. Same when I had creamy mushroom sauce, and a pasta dish while out. High protein/ lower carb meals are the winner for me.

All the food chatter has gone. I have zero cravings. I haven't had cake, chocolate or sweets since I started this, I haven't wanted them. I opened a packet of crisps on one occasion- ended up sealing it and putting them back after a few crisps. There has been an open tub of celebrations in my office all week that I haven't touched.

For the first time in my life, I feel in control, I don't feel like I am restricting or denying myself anything. I'm not obsessively weighing. I scroll past the 'what I eat in a day' videos on TikTok or anything sharing dieting advice.

Despite not weighing yet, I know I have lost inches. I am no longer bloated. My face is less puffy. A top I bought two weeks ago that didnt fit, now fits with room to spare.

From what I have read, I have been incredibly lucky to have had a start like this, I am really hoping it stays like this. 🤞🏻

SilkySuky · 18/03/2023 07:40

Week two weigh in and I haven't lost anything. Lost 9lb last week so taking that as 4.5lb average which I'm still very happy with. My scales say I've lost 2% body fat too.
I've stuck religiously to my calories and still have a much reduced appetite so I'm going to keep going and chalk it up to 'week 2' which is hard in any diet for me.
I had a couple of gin and diet tonics last night and felt absolutely horrible afterwards, so will be steering clear of alcohol I think.

My experiences have been very similar to yours, I've noticed I'm not interested in cooking videos anymore, when I used to watch them obsessively.

Circa1840 · 18/03/2023 08:22

Week 3 weigh in... 11lbs. So only lost 1lb in the third week but I'm more than happy with a loss of 11lb. Hopefully get to the 1stone goal by end of month.

Id be up for one, I think mine is being delivered today but have a nice (Michelin star) dinner tonight so no way I’m taking it before. It would be nice to have a smaller group to get to know and compare progress.side effects. My fiancé is already a bit unsure about me taking it so don’t really want to tell him if I’m feeling a bit rough on it!

poppinpink · 18/03/2023 08:36

Hi all, I've been following since January and I'm finally plucking up the courage to order. I was going to go through quick meds and there's a box asking for a discount code, does anyone have one? Thanks.

montysma1 · 18/03/2023 08:46

First week Ozempic. No side effects.

I THINK it's having a real effect and not just placebo effect of paying £139😁

I am pretty good during the day when dieting and then outrageous before bed with toast and anything I can grab. This week I still seem full from dinner by supper time. So no bedtime binge . That's a real difference .

Got it for £139 from Manual but next month was to be £199. I cancelled and they dropped to £179.

Can you use codes more than once for any of the companies?

Tried NUMAN which someody said was reasonably cheap but it only offered Saxenda AND WAS £299.

What is the cheapest way to keep going?

@RainyDays8 - I’ve just read your post about being ill after your lunch. You say it was a fairly pedestrian lunch. To me it was quite carb heavy - bread and crisps - and also fatty with the cheese and crisps. That’s not a lunch I would ever have eaten when trying to lose weight even before Ozempic. You do need to look at what you eat on Ozempic as well as how much and depending on the drug to make you eat less. You really need to reduce carbs and up your protein and fibre. So maybe a wrap with lots of salad and a protein instead of the sandwich. You probably don’t need the crisps as well but if you feel you do maybe switch to a few almonds or something. The apple is fine obviously.

montysma1 · 18/03/2023 09:08

Would anyone have a quick meds code?

Oigetoffmylawn · 18/03/2023 09:56

ZiggZagg · 17/03/2023 05:48

I took my first dose at 12pm yesterday and felt ok. Ate a lot less than I normally would, although not sure if that's a placebo effect. I fell to sleep with DS at 9pm and woke up around 2.5 hours later. I've been awake since 11.30pm and cannot get back to sleep. Has anyone had this issue? I don't feel the slightest bit tired! On the plus side, I have not sat up snacking!

Yep, I can relate! I felt really tired but also had periods of being really awake, not being able to sleep and not being so tired even with lack of sleep. It did pass.

For those thinking of buying ozempic in Ireland for reduced price, no it's not an option it's €145 per month here, must be mainland Europe

Rosie219 · 18/03/2023 10:27

I have a 50% off code for Manual if that's any help

Oh that’s such a shame. Where I live one can get it in the pharmacy for €80ish euros for one pen and €60ish if you buy three. I really don’t understand why it needs to be so expensive!

themuminator · 18/03/2023 10:48

I'm also after a quickmeds code if anyone has one.

I've had 4 weeks on Manual but the discount they can give brings it to £179, so quickmeds would be better.

UKmeds out of stock.

Sleepdeprived42long · 18/03/2023 11:12

Does anyone have any discount codes? I’m thinking of trying this. I’ve been trying to shift my baby weight for a decade but I’ve got PCOS and it’s near impossible! Anyone have PCOS and found this helpful?

ErmineAndPearls · 18/03/2023 11:15

@RainyDays8 Yeah, the carbs have to go. I suffered from some terrible side effects in my first month. They all stopped after I’d come on this thread and realised that I just had to give up All-Bran!
