“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

For those looking for discount codes, I got one when I first signed up (to MyJuniper) by just Googling MyJuniper discount code. The discount code is a free-for-all. They don’t expect anyone to pay the full (inflated) price for the first month, especially since it’s a low dose.

Overthegardenfence · 18/03/2023 11:42

I’ve just received my first pen from quick meds so I think I’ll do my injection this evening and hopefully sleep through any side effects there was a code in my package REPEAT5 which quickmed said can be shared. I’m scared and excited at the same time but how amazing if this actually works good luck everyone.

Overthegardenfence · 18/03/2023 11:44

Also another code for quick meds SAVE5 x

swallowedAfly · 18/03/2023 12:41

Took my first dose of 0.37 (28 clicks) last night.

Woke up urgently needing the loo and it was very loose but literally just that one visit and not a lot (sorry if TMI). Now feel fine.

I didn't start on 0.25 because I've taken saxender, which is pretty similar in mechanism, before without any side effects or problems so didn't feel I needed to be that cautious. I will take this dose twice and if it's working fine continue for the other two or if not go up to 0.5.

Does anyone have any discount codes? I’m thinking of trying this. I’ve been trying to shift my baby weight for a decade but I’ve got PCOS and it’s near impossible! Anyone have PCOS and found this helpful?

Hi I have a 50% off code for Manual which I think would work out £99.50

@DyanDeutsch that's amazing re the EU prescription price. I wonder would that work in Ireland? I'm in NI only half an order from the border

ooooo me too - would be happy to pop over to save some dosh!

Yes I'm week 6 now and have stage 4 endometriosis. There's a big community on TikTok of women taking this with PCOS that I found helpful to watch before I ordered. I'm down almost 9lbs after years and years of trying and getting no results.

Yes, I have PCOS. Im on week 3 of 0.25 dose. I feel a bit of appetite suppression but find that I can resist food much more easily. I think the insulin resistance I was suffering with was making me hungry and crave food just to get the energy my body wasn't getting from carbs/sugar. I've felt like a whole different person since taking ozempic and not just food related. I have so much more energy, sleep better, concentrate better etc. I think when I have to stop taking ozempic I am going to get an appointment with an endocrinologist and see if they have any suggestions of things to ease my PCOS symptoms.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 18/03/2023 16:25

A newbie thread would be great please. Just took dose 1 (in my thigh), less faff than I expected.

ZiggZagg · 18/03/2023 17:57

Nausea has hit me today! I've just eaten an apple, not because I was hungry, just because I've not eaten anything all day and it feels like I'm going to vomit. I know it will get better but nausea is my worst feeling ever!

Hi I have a 50% off code for Manual which I think would work out £99.50

I’d like to try the code please, other ones people have listed haven’t worked

Adarajames · 18/03/2023 18:30

Is it possible to buy a higher dose pen, but then use a smaller amount? Or it’s a set amount dispensed each time so can’t do that? Thanks

Hi I'll PM you the code. I'm not sure as I've just started off with the 0.25 pen. People have said you can count clicks but I haven't tried. I found ordering with them simple, they ask for a photo or your GP details. I just sent a photo which was fine.

Aw that sucks, are you day 2? I took mine yesterday, felt OK today. I think my appetite is reduced but it could just be imaginary 🤣 Either way I've eaten well all day, no unhealthy snacks so that's good.

Hi Everyone, well done 👏🏼 to everyone 👏🏼 with their successes.

I am starting on Monday & wondered if there are any other newbies who would like a thread for us all? So we can support one another on our weight loss journey.

We seem to have a mixture of starters on here & I know I have sometimes just been trawling through to find other people like me who are going to start.

I have ordered Manual & I know I will have to purchase from elsewhere before they charge me the full amount of £199 from the second month.

Can anyone recommend where I can buy it cheaper? I am in the UK

Now I know from my GP that they aren’t allowed to prescribe Wegovy only a specialist weight clinic can which I have been referred to since July 2022 & I am still waiting!!! Is Wegovy even in stock over here? I’m sure I have read that it isn’t here yet but I could be wrong. Just wondering if anyone knows any different?

Also is there any difference between Wegovy & Ozempic? They both contain Semalgutide?

I'd love a newbie thread too, my ozempic is sat in the fridge waiting for me (£129 Manual). I think Tuesday will be the day for me to start, off to my daughters for Mother's Day lunch tomorrow so want to be able to eat whatever she's prepared for me. I have already started the healthier eating (day 3!) and have done 12000 steps today - I'm feeling pretty good!

Hello, so glad I found this thread as I've been looking at trying it.

Im curious how people find injecting themselves? Im a big chicken and afraid I won't be able to do it

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 18/03/2023 22:09

Took my first injection at 4pm today, no issues at all, did it in my thigh and it stung a teeny tiny bit after, that's it. Wasn't heavy handed, could not feel it go in, the slight sting was just after the liquid went in. It's a bit tingly now.

Watched this youtube video just before, very helpful, I recommend it. I struggled a bit to get the lid off the needle (I don't have strong hands) but then noticed how she did it sideways, worked well:
"How to Take Your First Ozempic Injection - Tips for Success in Your First Month" by Hella Bella

I feel totally normal, pharmacist at QM said some can feel the effect in as little as 3 hours. I've just had a small-ish dinner and a glass of wine.

blueblueelectricblue28 · 18/03/2023 22:58

I’ve just ordered and paid for my first pen with Manual at 35% off - they need to confirm my weight with my GP so had to provide their details, I’m assuming no one has had any issues with this step?
I paid £129 which jumps to £199 on the second month, do people tend to cancel once month 1 is over and then shop around for a good deal elsewhere on month 2?

I had to give them my GP details as well. I hope that doesn't hold things up, I'm keen to get started now.

Hi Everyone, so ordered Ozempic from Manual yday. There is a bit of a delay in delivery which is fine as I can’t start it on the wknd as my eldest has organised afternoon tea so I wouldn’t be very popular if I started the injections and then couldn’t eat & enjoy the tea. Is there anyone who has a chronic condition, Fibromyalgia and has started Ozempic and could share what it has been like for them? I am 5ft 2 & weigh in at 15.5 stones. I used to weigh 9.5—10 stone before my diagnosis. How long does everybody think it will take for me to lose the 5.5 stone? I was happy & couldn’t wait to get started yday but today I feel anxious at the thought of not being able to continue with Ozempic should I start to have any side effects? Is it normal to feel like this? Is there anyone else who has the same amount of weight to lose & would like to buddy up?

I'm happy to buddy!

I'm 5' 2" and weigh 14.14. Injected my second .25 on Friday eve. Didn't weigh first week so not sure of loss, will start next week now I have a base line.

I'm hoping to get to 8 1/2 - 9 stone so I've probs got the same to lose as you.

Have also got fibro. And arthritis. Am relying mostly on this for weight loss as I can do very little in the way of exercise.

I had the same fear as I’m a bit needle phobic. But the needle is honestly tiny and the injection is no big deal. I built up to it by watching YouTube videos. It’s very easy just to press the pen against your thigh or into your stomach, nowhere near as painful as I find normal injections and no need to find a vein.

UsernameFail · 19/03/2023 07:24

Thanks Twiglet.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and try it. Does anyone have a code?

A question for longer users: has anyone gone on holiday and taken their pen with them?

Peridot1 · 19/03/2023 07:28

@UsernameFail - yes I have a couple of times. No issues. I put the needles in my suitcase and put the pen itself in a small ziplock bag and take it out at security with my other liquids. I heard one security person say to the guy operating the X-ray machine that an Epi pen was coming when she saw my Ozempic pen.

Sleepdeprived42long · 19/03/2023 08:23

Ok took the plunge and ordered! I’m apprehensive about side effects and if I will put weight back on BUT those are risks I’m willing to accept-I’m trying to view this as the kick start I need to make adjustments that I can stick to longer term. Glad to hear this has helped other women with PCOS!

I was wondering if it is possible to order the next pen in advance? The first month price is lower but I was thinking of shopping around for 2nd month etc. So I don’t risk running out, could I buy a couple of weeks before 2nd month and keep in fridge?
