Thread 1: www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight_loss_chat/4715040-lazy-pig-seeks-other-lazy-pigs-to-lose-1lb-a-week?page=1

We started on 9th January (ish) after we’d very heroically finished off the Christmas chocolate. We discussed our half-arsed plans to shift a bit of timber as we wafted our pudgy trotters vaguely towards the fruit bowl. No one really wanted to exercise properly because it’s too cold/wet/exercisey. We all love biscuits more than being thin yet we vowed to cut down on digestives. We promised, with our fingers crossed just in case. We owned our weaknesses, piggies, we owned them loud and proud and we were as determined as porky trough munchers can be, to aim for around 1lb a week weight loss.

And lo! Lazy Pig Club was born, hooray, and now we need a new thread. Let me know you’re here and how you’re doing, and new pigs are definitely more than welcome!!

Always remember our only rule and the LPC motto: “slowly, slowly - don’t make yourself sad”

@BaconAndAvocado I felt faint at the thought of 1000 calories so searched Google for an image of a fainted pig by way of a reply... I never knew there was such a plethora of fainting pig videos!! And may I just say we are adorable on cam.

Peppy1234 · 26/03/2023 16:06

🤣

BaconAndAvocado · 26/03/2023 19:26

whatusername 🤣🤣
I haven’t fainted yet but am very much overjoyed when Friday arrives.

whatausername · 26/03/2023 20:38

Back on the wagon tomorrow -ish.
There was a bottle of champagne that needed to be used up. It is now used.

Mañanarama · 27/03/2023 09:43

im sure you drank it heroically, @whatausername!

Warm welcome to @Peppy1234!

Right, I’m on a mission. I’ve dropped back to 10.2 having been at 10.1 a couple of weeks ago but pigged my way back to 10.5. It’s now just a matter of days til target date and being below 10. Basically going to starve myself a bit this week (it’s all relative) and see if I can do it without feeling sad. Unconvinced!

Peppy1234 · 27/03/2023 11:48

Thanks @Mañanarama . Great thread! Good luck with your mission this week.

Thanks! Did you read thread 1, some daft ideas top tips in there!

I did have a quick flick through it - I liked it ☺️.

Mañanarama · 27/03/2023 20:06

I’ve been soooo good today, it’s all been about the chicken and the egg. Including the creme egg I just ate on the way home from the supermarket due to being annoyed - empty shelves, huge price increases and only one proper checkout open in a big store. Rubbish!

EyesOnThePies · 29/03/2023 12:13

Guess what?

I'm still here.

I think my damn scales were practicing for April Fool's Day. Or else my sudden consumption of the Lindt Choc Bunnies and several pasta dinners have taken their toll.

Need to take notice of the paltry amount of food that now meets my getting older base rate.

And now I have to go out and replace the Lindt bunny at full price when I bought it at a bargain price.

But I am still within reach of my target weight.

Old weight, before I adjusted to my new healthier eating habits: 83 Kg
Average sort of weight after that: 64.3 Kg
Weight when I started the thread: 67Kg
Now: 64.8 Kg.

Mañanarama · 29/03/2023 13:13

What’s your target @EyesOnThePies?

I was 10.0.8 this morning so really trying really hard to be good!! So close. I can’t imagine the first number being 9 but I will be celebrating, must be a good 2- 3 years since that happened!

OP posts:
Peppy1234 · 29/03/2023 22:13

I hear you @EyesOnThePies re base rate being much less when older! 😳the amount of food that would’ve had me losing 2-3 pounds a week is now lose one pound or less than a pound!
@Mañanarama If I saw a 10 at the front for first time in years I’d be over the moon, a 9 will b amazing for you! You’ll be there soon 💪🏼

EyesOnThePies · 30/03/2023 15:59

64.2

I was down to 64.1 but I think it must be my evil scales.

BaconAndAvocado · 31/03/2023 09:55

Disappointed and fed up pig here.
Plateaued AGAIN at 9st 12lb.
Must be a meno/hormonal thing as I haven’t done anything different this week.
And now it’s the school holidays....at home more.......near fridge more.......achocalypse imminent.......oh shit.

Mañanarama · 31/03/2023 12:02

I’m stuck around 10.1, sooooo frustrating isn’t it!! I obviously need to start doing some actual exercise. Wahhhh!

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 31/03/2023 22:17

My exercise consists of a long dog walk on the beach every day but I’m not getting my heart rate up.
I should really start running again...........😐

Peppy1234 · 01/04/2023 10:47

Lost 3 lbs overnight! Yay! Weight loss is weird as I felt like I was stuck then a whoosh. People who feel they’re stuck, stick with it and it will happen

What did you do, amputate a limb?!

OP posts:
Peppy1234 · 01/04/2023 12:38

@Mañanarama 🤣no, but I’d been hanging around at same weight for more than a week and counting calories extremely boringly, so I was due a whoosh. I’ve lost 10 pounds altogether in 6 weeks but Jesus, Mary and Joseph I’ve really missed all the lovely wine and pizza I enjoyed to get to my starting weight in the first place!! I’m keeping in mind the clothes I’ll eventually be able to get back into if I stick at this…

Mañanarama · 01/04/2023 13:39

I now have six days to get under 10 and I don’t think it’s going to happen unless I go extreme and I don’t really fancy that. Still, pleased with 10/11lbs in 3 months considering I’ve barely left the house!

OP posts:
Mañanarama · 01/04/2023 13:40

Could do with a 3lbs overnight situation. Will get my hacksaw ready. Left foot, I reckon.

OP posts:
BaconAndAvocado · 01/04/2023 15:58

Wow, I’ve had 2lb losses overnight but never 3! Impressive.
I’ve probably had 3lb gains overnight but I’m never counting at that stage!

TheZeppo · 04/04/2023 13:05

I’m a sad little piggy.

not lost weight in ages- stuck at 160.2. I can cope with that (at least it’s not a gain!)

but I went away at the weekend with friends. Beautiful, tiny little friends. No piggies to be seen. Gazelles.

I look massive on the photos. And I’m sad. I realise it’s a bit unreasonable, but oink oink 😭

Mañanarama · 04/04/2023 16:31

Don’t be sad @TheZeppo. Instead, imagine us all wobbling off the pigbus as it screeches up outside the Lindt shop, then diving into all those chocolatey balls of happiness!

Did you stand back centre on the photos? Never ever be on the ends of group shots, or in front of skinny people - those types must be either side of you, like a scarf.

Mañanarama · 06/04/2023 10:46

I did it, I frickin did it!

9.13.6 this morning having started on 9th Jan at 10.11.4. I know I’ll be back over 10 after this weekend, the target weekend, but I BLOODY DID IT!!!!
