Hello All,

I really need to work up my motivation to lose weight at the moment and although I do daily personal weigh-ins I think some accountability would really help!

Would anyone like to join me?

I'm around 16 stone at the moment so it would be great to hear from others who want to lose weight but not necessarily slim from size 10 to an 8!

I'm in... 14 something but I will check exactly in the morning. I could do with the motivation that a group weigh in will bring.

imnotthatkindofmum · 26/02/2023 15:55

I've just eaten a Krispy Kreme lotus biscoff in preparation 🤣. I'll be using nutricheck as I already have it and think it works well. I'm also going to try and move more as although it doesn't make much different to my weight loss I find it distracts me from eating!

TinyChoices · 26/02/2023 16:35

I think this is just the thread I was looking for! Hello!

I haven't weighed in at all so far in 2023 - I know I am up around my heaviest at 16st though. I've ditched my excessive wine habit but whilst that may have been enough to curb the weight gain I know it's not enough to bring about a loss.

About 5 years ago I slimmed down from 16 st to 11 st by daily weighing and being very strict with calories (sz 20 to sz 12). I'm reluctant to do that again before sorting out why I gain and changing my every day habits. I've got no plan at all right now. I think I just need to face the scales tomorrow though and take it from there.

Ambertonix · 26/02/2023 17:05

Yes please, i would love to join you all. Im about 14st 7lbs but only just over 5ft so ideally i would like to lose 5 st. When i got married in 2014 i was 10 st which is the lightest ive been for many, many years. Im 50 now and i feel life is slipping me by and im missing out on so much because im embarassed and have very little motivation. I look forward to you all keeping me accountable and i will try to do the same for you.

freshstart49 · 26/02/2023 17:10

Hi everyone iv lost 1 stone so far on one of the other threads I'm 15 stone now but at 5.3 it's not good x I'm low carbing which is working. I'm also the big 50 in summer so lots of motivation required

TinyChoices · 26/02/2023 17:30

I'm almost 50 too @Ambertonix and @freshstart49 .

I really, really, really don't want to spend my fifties like this!

EnglishGirlApproximately · 26/02/2023 17:40

Can I join? Haven't weighed myself for a while but I'd guess around 15 1/2. I've always felt pretty healthy even overweight but as I'm approaching 50 in the next few years I'm slowing down more than I'd like. WFH most days full time so it's become difficult to be motivated to do anything about it but I'm ready.

Springinthecity · 26/02/2023 21:13

Yes please. Thank you! I really need this. (Have name changed).

Around 15stone - 5’8. Just want to get to normal BMI. Around 11 st 8.

Mine is pregnancies - busy lifestyle - comfort eating. But I have a few health issues beginning so it’s not even just about looking better anymore.

TinyChoices · 26/02/2023 21:25

I've just got the scales out and put them down in the bathroom ready for the morning. Dreading it. Pretty convinced I'm going to see a number bigger than any number I've ever had to face on the scales before...

fastandthecurious1 · 26/02/2023 21:29

19.5st here... :( really need to shift 6/stone to feel healthy again. I just need to put my health first... I am never my own priority but I know I am very unhealthy now and need to be motivated. If anyone would be happy to do a WhatsApp group? Just for accountability and motivation I could use the support

EdnaMole · 26/02/2023 21:46

I’m in too! Lost a couple of stone last year and currently 14.6…been faffing about gaining and losing a couple of pounds at a time since Christmas..can’t get motivated despite going to slimming world religiously each week(but at the moment not actually following the diet!!)
Snacking and eating carbs when anxious is my undoing..my meals are pretty healthy!!
What I need is a sort of Jiminy Cricket style conscience to slap the food out of my hands when I’m stuffing my face with rubbish to soothe my emotions…perhaps jumping on this thread will help!!!

Pancakepipsqueak · 26/02/2023 21:51

Hi! I started off at 16 stone and am now 15 stone 3 however been stuck here for a while but definitely not doing much to help lose weight! Place marking for tomorrow to hopefully boost motivation

Scottishpotato · 26/02/2023 21:52

I'd like to join too!! I've really let myself go recently and I'm about 15.3. I'm due to go on holiday this year (first since before covid) and tonight got some of my old holiday clothes out and surprise surprise about 90% of them don't fit. I've got about 3 months to get my ass in gear.

I've been swimming on and off 2/3 times a week since Jan (not every week) I try so hard to be "good" all week and always go off track Friday evening the whole way through. I am trying calorie counting but was tempted to go back to see except no 7.30pm classes near me anymore - I think the SW accountability rather than plan is the only thing that works for me!

grosslyunfair · 26/02/2023 22:26

I'm in. Hit 15 stone recently and I'm just over 18 months off 50. Feels like now or never. Have been trying for a few weeks to calorie count. Will post each Monday for accountability otherwise I just gain and lose the same half stone over and over again!

PatMu · 26/02/2023 22:43

I'm in too - about 15 and a half and would like to be 13 - or 12-13 so I'm in the 12's . I'm also turning 50 in the Autumn which is a milestone in my head but also need to feel healthier starting now. Weigh in tomorrow and using MFP and up the walking/ movement.

I'm in a good bit of pain with sort joints which seems to be a perimenopausal thing so I'm sure weighing less will help

10in10 · 26/02/2023 22:59

14.7 stone here.

I've eaten very low calorie the last week or so (average 600 calories a day) and find it quite easy .. until I don't and then it's a case of in for a penny, in for a pound.

I reckon I put on a stone last time I restricted calories like this because my body went into starvation mode and held onto the weight.

I just find it so much easier to just hardly eat rather then make decisions about healthy choices - but it probably won't work. I just feel like I don't know how to diet!!

Ringringringringringringringbananaphone · 26/02/2023 23:06

Oh me too please, what perfect timing. I’ve just reactivated my nutracheck account earlier this evening and set up my fire tv stick so that I can log into my exercise account. I think I’m around 14 stone, biggest I’ve ever been - was going to weigh in tomorrow morning, so will check back in. I’m 50, never been so big and unfit in my life and am determined to start treating my body better and looking after it more.

RebeccaSharp · 26/02/2023 23:47

Just over 14st here but that gives me 4st to lose - sigh. The only other time I've weighed more than this is when I was pregnant with my twins

@Ringringringringringringringbananaphone I used to do some exercise videos on Amazon but then they took loads off Prime, annoyingly! Which do you do?

@imnotthatkindofmum that sounds like my sort of preparation Grin

Slimjimtobe · 26/02/2023 23:51

.

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 27/02/2023 06:32

Right, just weighed. 14 stone 10lb. I was more after lockdown so I guess that's a positive. 3 stone to go I think which would take me down to a smallish size 14.

I've stopped drinking alcohol and given up cake, chocolate etc for Lent so hoping that'll be a kickstart.

Good luck all!

Pennyplant19 · 27/02/2023 06:39

I'm starting today but am not going to weigh as I find that totally details me, and I become obsessive. I have a lovely coat (which cost me a fortune) that I'd love to get back into so am going to use that as my yardstick! It's a size 16 and I'm currently sitting at a snug 20.
Am going to be tracking my calories in Nutracheck and aiming for 10,000 steps per day, as I currently do 5-7000.

TinyChoices · 27/02/2023 06:51

Yep, heaviest I have ever been by some margin. I'm appalled, and quite embarrassed, but I needed to see this.

  1. 27/2/23: 16 st 10.6 lbs/234.6 lbs/106.4 kg/39.6 kg/m2

I've just been sat here now for 5 minutes staring at this. At least I know now and have got the shocks I needed to start losing it 😯

Anapana · 27/02/2023 06:56

Heaviest I’ve ever been this morning, 3 bastard stone overweight. I’ve tried hard the last month to sort my alcohol intake out and gave done that by replacing wine with sugar and chocolate so while I’m no longer a lush, I’m so lardy and unfit. What great timing for a thread. Nutracheck downloaded and ginger tea drunk. Good luck everyone

HamFrancisco · 27/02/2023 07:02

Hello everyone, I’m weighing in at 15st 9.4lb. Good luck to us all!
