Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

I’m actually 48% fat!!! Am actually 12 stone 10 -
I had black coffee and water till 1pm but then had kfc two piece meal - then some roast beef slices and then a roast beef sandwich with two bags of crisps - 4 cups of tea with a bit of sugar.
Again not great but have finished eating for the day and will eat again around mid day tomorrow.
Im waiting for a blood test result as this time last year I was pre diabetic-

Using lose it instead of myfitnesspal to track calories and its a game changer. The internet search function is so much better. Advised I do 1400 cals but the last 3 days I'm coming in at 1600.

My issue 100% is snacks and weirdly though I tell myself I don't have a sweet tooth it's sugary treats. Will have to convince DH not to buy them as he does the majority of grocery shopping but I bought donuts at the petrol station...

AFineBalance · 03/01/2023 20:17

sounds like there have been some good days out there.

mine not too bad, pretty good choices but I’m so hungry after lamb tagine dinner because I didn’t chase it down with cheese Board and massive pudding. How long till my stomach realises feasting is over 🙄??!

AFineBalance · 03/01/2023 20:18

Also thinking I might need to get some health checks, interesting to see what others gave had. My BP has been highish. Want to get that down. Don’t know what my colesterol is

Whydidimarryhim · 03/01/2023 20:42

Lose it app isn’t free? As far as I can see.

iamloading · 03/01/2023 20:54

It is, there's a premium option but you don't need to take it.

I'm 12st 12 and still none lost after 2 days grrr. Have been snacking and using up cheese and cant believe how many calories it has! 😱I was over my daily calories given to me by MFP by 630 so can't eat anything else today. Would usually have eaten quite a bit more by this point - yoghurt, choc bar. crisps so I guess that's good. Now most of the cheese is gone hopefully can eat fewer calories. Still got my daily yoga to do if going to stick to this plan- I bought a mat at Aldi today so that's almost that covered!

StrawberryFizz27 · 03/01/2023 21:47

I ate leftover Chinese for lunch and then ordered a curry for dinner, so it's back to the start for me!!

Tomorrow is a new day.

Makegoodchoices · 03/01/2023 22:21

Good day today, had a Greek yogurt for breakfast, spicy chicken salad for lunch and a homemade cheeseburger with veg for dinner.

Added in a 45 min walk at lunchtime too.

Not snacking is so hard when WFH!

CalmConfident · 03/01/2023 22:36

Eaten mostly carbs today 😳 but no wine, and no evening snacking. Went for a walk instead to distract me!!’

I followed sw for two years and it did work, but I just became so fed up with watching everything I ate all the time. I then started exercising regularly and so convinced myself this and that extra morsel wouldn’t hurt. Hmm. I also found attending group meetings and listening to the same stuff every week pretty tedious. I’m trying to avoid joining again because I just can’t stomach that again. I’ve done WW, SW and Weightcare classes and lost weight with all of them but I find them all too strict to follow all the time, despite all the ‘retrain your taste buds and you’ll find it easy to stay at your ideal weight’ bull they all peddle. So many members at those meetings had lost and gained several times, it seems to be a constant cycle.

On the upside, I discovered how much I love yoga, aerobics, long walks and body balance which I still do lots of every week, so that has been genuinely life changing, but I just haven’t cracked the food part of it yet.

ItsMeHiImTheProblem · 03/01/2023 23:38

I've been hungry this evening, but chose not to eat more than a cupasoup. Feel very virtuous 😂
I've had a pretty good day, drank quite a lot of water and black coffee.
Feeling motivated at the moment, but not sure how long it will last, but will be pleased if I can break the habit of snacking in the evening.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 04/01/2023 07:50

12st 11lb!! Sheesh. I’m going to try 18:6 fasting and calorie count on the days when I can’t handle that. I’ll download nutracheck and if I’m really brave once schools are back - couch to 5k!

Shodan · 04/01/2023 08:02

Cup-a-soup!

That's a good idea. I never think about having those as snacks.

@Showdogworkingdog I've got a yoga course booked in starting next week- first time I've ever tried it. Has it made you more flexible?

Hotsweatymomspagetti · 04/01/2023 08:05

0.3k lost since Sunday….I can’t quite decide if that’s just going to the toilet or actual loss. Either way I’m going with loss as it’s motivating 😂🤣

Showdogworkingdog · 04/01/2023 08:12

@Shodan yoga has made me more flexible, yes, although nothing fancy like being able to put my foot on my head, just the useful stuff like being able to get down and do my shoes up easily. It’s also been a massive help with an ongoing back injury that used to flare up several times a year. Mainly though I love the way it takes me out of my head. Hope you love it.

Shodan · 04/01/2023 08:23

@Showdogworkingdog Ah great, thanks. I am looking forward to it- heard so many good things about yoga.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 04/01/2023 09:08

@Showdogworkingdog I haven’t done yoga in years, you’ve inspired me to sign up for a class this week!

SpaceOP · 04/01/2023 09:13

There's a beginners yoga class I have been toying with trying. This might be the time. I sort of feel too embarrassed until I'm at least a little stronger. which I know is silly but can't help it.

I am a bit irritated as an old shoulder injury has flared up and I'm struggling to move at all. I saw my chiro yesterday which helped a lot but it's not all the way yet. I have another appointment this week and a massage booked for next week so hopefully that will help as I haven't even felt up to walking the dog.

Sleepychicken · 04/01/2023 09:25

I struggle with cooking family meals, kids are really fussy won’t eat any veg, Dh is supportive but would live off pie and chips - anyone else in this boat or does anyone have tips so I’m not cooking 4 separate meals? This is why I struggle to stick to diets!

Am wondering this re looking guant - I’m 43 so starting to get to that point. Exercise tends to help as improves circulation/glow/skin texture. When have lost weight in the past has coincided with stress and tiredness so did impact how I looked more.
