Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Checking in. Another minuscule loss of 1/4lb for me this week despite being on my best behaviour. It's never been this tricky to shift the timber so I'm a bit frustrated.......but at least I'm not getting fatter!

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 06/03/2023 08:02

I put on this week (alas if I'd weighed in on Friday I would have lost this week). I think I need to record average measurements now!

Cuckoosheep · 06/03/2023 08:08

Sw 13.3
Cw 12.10
Gw 10.4

I've lost 2lb this week, when I weighed Friday I was 12.8 bit had wine, pasta and chocolate over the weekend.

This is going so slowly.

I think I need to weigh on Friday's too, I'm always slightly heavier on Mondays as I let myself have a few treats at weekend.

Please can I join - want to shift a stone and a half/10kg. It piled on fast and is not coming off despite cutting down. Will cut fruit juice, occasional sweets and grabbing a handful of crisps late evening.

LavenderfortheBees · 06/03/2023 08:40

Yes a weekly weigh in is tricky as I can vary by several pounds day by day depending on any of the following:

  • How many days between bowel movements
  • Bloating from a hangover
  • Premenstrual bloating
  • Overdoing a workout bloating
  • Salty meal bloating
  • (Rarely) bloating from having hiked to a high elevation. This can cause me to swell up to the point my rings won't come off my fingers and takes a couple of days to go back to normal.
  • Whether Mercury is in ascendancy
  • Cursed by evil faeries

And others I'm sure I haven't thought of.

Much better to go by averages over a week if you are really hung up on a number or trust the process. If you track intake religiously, the weight will be coming off and it will show on the scale in time. Also go by other measures - I have a particular pair of rigid jeans that I am actually wearing comfortably for the first time today. At the start of Jan, I could only just get them up my thighs and last month I could do them up but only just. Now they are lovely to wear.

SW 12.5 (as recorded on here, sure it was 12.6 though) Jan 2
CW 11 7 (still above previous OMG you need to diet warning weight but right now I'll take it)
GW 10 6 (to start with, will reassess when there)

12 pounds in 2 months. I should be delighted, it feels ultra slow.
Still sugar free, but probably drinking a little too much Fri and sat nights so back to quarter bottles for me. Especially as I finished DD pizza on Friday at 11pm which was NOT factored in.

Posh lunch and dinner today, event buffet tomorrow, 7 day weeks and uni decision days ahead. March is not going to be easy, if I can manage 2 pounds more by 1 April that will be a real achievement.

Welcome all newbies! I am finding publicly being accountable here really helpful.

Crikeyalmighty · 06/03/2023 10:55

Well I've now lost 1st 5lbs since mid November - feels ultra slow but I'm on beta blockers which I'm told slows your metabolism down , most people gain on them so I guess I'm doing ok but it's going to be a long haul to lose 4stone- given that I'm walking 10,000 steps a day , eating clean and sticking around 1500 calories a day, it's tougher than I thought it would be. I guess at 61 though it's rarely easy

shrunkenhead · 06/03/2023 13:38

CW 11.12st
GW 10st
Can't remember my start weight but somewhere around 12.7 so getting there slowly. Happy to be in the next weight zone. Hoping to be thin for summer and the first time since having kids!

thefurriesthen · 06/03/2023 14:56

Finally stepped on the scales today - 77kg/12.1 stone. Ugh. Could be worse but still not great, considering I was 9 stone a couple of years ago 🙄Going to be a challenging week with a two-day conference and a meal out for Mother's Day but hopefully I can chip away at it, and the two fasting days might help!

thefurriesthen · 06/03/2023 14:59

Doh, getting ahead of myself - thinking about next week 😅This week shouldn't be too bad (hello Monday brain)

nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart · 06/03/2023 16:53

Weigh in:

Start weight 13 st 4
Current weight: 12 st 4
Goal weight: 11 st

Measured too, lost another inch on my waist and chest.

It's slow, but I'm quite happy that I'm not finding it difficult. I know I can't go back to eating how I used to, snacking on chocolate in the evenings. I still have dessert if I'm eating out, I just eat less during the day. I think the main thing that has helped is doing 16:8 from 9 to 5.

Timwith2noses · 06/03/2023 18:40

Had the weekend off as we were away, so ate out quite a bit, plus alcohol. But, I also completed a parkrun, swam and went climbing so I am happy that I stayed active and enjoyed a nice time/nice food.

Have switched to the 5-10K running plan on my app after completing parkrun in one ‘run’ so I’m now aiming for 10Km distance in a few weeks. Went for a run again this morning, weekly food shop was delivered today, with all meals planned for the week and I’m heading out to hot yoga class shortly.

Feeling v positive about sustainable changes.

orangetriangle · 06/03/2023 20:44

put on a pound this week sigh and tonight I just want to eat chocolate

Shodan · 07/03/2023 08:13

Weigh in day again!

SW: 13st 3lb

CW: 12st 2lb

GW: 11st 6lb (ish)

2lb down this week, and more importantly, means I've hit my 1 stone loss mark! Which, even more importantly, means I can get ds2 to rootle out one of the small easter eggs I had him hide.

Yay 😁

Southstand · 07/03/2023 08:58

Well done Shodun! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I've lost 11.2 lbs, down a pound on last week.

Southstand · 07/03/2023 09:00

Orangetriangle - keep going. Sometimes I weigh and it looks like I've gained and it's just water

Shodan · 07/03/2023 10:31

@Southstand Thank you!

Does anyone else sneak admiring glances at themselves in the mirror?😂Or when you notice that your thighs no longer cover the entire car seat? Or is it just me that's unbearably vain?

It's been so long since my jeans were 'sitting down' jeans- the other day I even forgot I was still wearing them, as I lounged about on the sofa. I was so chuffed 😊

All the time 😂 I keep looking at my nearly flat stomach and admiring it 😀

shrunkenhead · 07/03/2023 19:05

@Shodan oh yes! Sure I can almost feel my ribs and hip bones if I lie down! V exciting!

orangetriangle · 07/03/2023 19:19

I have to keep going for health reasons diabetis and also I dont want to be a fat mother of the ride bit it is such a hard slow slog

MrsPepperpotty · 08/03/2023 06:27

Hello, please can I re-join? I posed on this thread back in early Jan but have been AWOL since then. Feeling in the right mindset now, and planning to use My Fitness Pal to track calories.

Lozzybear · 08/03/2023 08:04

Another pound lost this week. So slow but at least it’s a loss.

SW: 12 st 7
CW: 11 st 12
GW: 10 st 7

Oh God yes!!!

I'm back in jeans I had in storage and while my tummy is still podgy, it's less prominent. I'm fitter, my knees creak less.

I'm slowly moving clothes out of storage and fitting into them.

It's also nice to be doing something about my weight. I don't feel so down because I'm being proactive about tackling the issue.

Shodan · 08/03/2023 08:40

Same here. I didn't feel down all the time, but when I was tired or a bit under the weather my weight would get me down. I always used to be slim, able to eat anything and not put on weight, so it was hard to reconcile that person and body with this menopausal one.

I had my easter egg yesterday. Sooooooo good 😁
