Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Meant to say-welcome to all the newbies! And well done to all those who have kept on losing.

(This is probably the only time it's acceptable to say "Well done you bunch of losers!!😂)

Southstand · 28/02/2023 19:04

Hope you don't mind if I join. I'm trying to get to a normal BMI and fit into clothes in storage 😁

Hello

I would really like to join this thread if not too late. I am so so sick of feeling terrible about myself. Every single day I think that today is the day I sort myself out, and then it goes to pot. I am the heaviest I have ever been and loathe seeing myself. I have a wardrobe full of lovely clothes that i remember feeling good wearing but that now just mock me when I open the doors and realise that there is literally nothing in there that fits. I want to feel better for myself and for the people around me as I am a miserable soul right now and a huge part of it is my weight. I am 49 this month, in peri-menopause, on HRT patches. I have back and foot problems which inhibits a lot of exercise though I can usually walk.

I am absolutely determined to sort myself out.

My plan is to stick to 1350 cals, tracked on myfitnesspal, walk when I can physically do it and have time, and make really good food choices.

I haven't faced the scales recently but from how I feel I think I am about 165lb. I want to somehow get down to 140lb. Feels impossible but I am taking it one days at a time.

Savemesome · 01/03/2023 15:11

I am still here, weighed in today and lost 3lb this week! Chuffed
SW 13 stone 12
CW 12 stone 3.5

thefurriesthen · 01/03/2023 15:21

Joining as well, if that's ok 😊 I've had so many "I'll start tomorrows" this year, but I'm hoping being part of a support group will help.

Too scared to weigh at the moment but can guess that I have around 15kg to lose, after piling it on after weaning my now two year old (I was one of the lucky ones that lost weight breastfeeding but it alllll came back on afterwards). I will weigh myself on Monday after a few days of sticking to a plan as I do like to keep track.

I have decided to follow a 5:2 eating plan. Currently on a fasting day, which hasn't been too bad as I've been so busy. Only a few hours to go!

willowstar · 02/03/2023 07:26

@Savemesome 3lb is excellent, well done. @thefurriesthen I too will step on the scales on Monday after a couple of days of eating well.

All the best for today everyone

I know the feeling, it is slow for me too, but the way I see it is, it's healthier to lose it slowly. Also I can feel a difference in how my clothes fit and I think my face is a little less moon shaped 😳 so I'm going to keep going. We can do this! 🤗

Lozzybear · 02/03/2023 10:24

@nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart I know that you’re right! It is healthier. Just wish it could be a little bit quicker, ha ha!!!!

I don't want to go back to being that person who eats chocolate all night 😣 It was pure boredom eating. Doing 16:8 suits me well. I don't eat all evening. I wish it was faster too though, but I think it's normal to slow down after a while.

iamloading · 02/03/2023 18:41

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies. After my 3.5 weeks of total self sabotage I'm back doing well.
4.6 kg down, still 10 to go. But still plenty of time to summer if I STAY ON THE BLOODY WAGON

I have been dieting since Jan 2and and still only lost half a stone now that slow !! then again I have diabetis and PCOS so probably doesnt help just keep plodding on as good for my diabetis and my daughter is getting married next year

willowstar · 02/03/2023 22:40

Day two for me. Sort of doing alright though have gone over calories both days! I had completely forgotten how calorific good houmous is! And olive oil. No wonder I have gained so much. Determined to keep going. I don't mind if I just lose half a pound a week so long as it goes down. All the best.

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 02/03/2023 22:58

I'm down 3.6kg in two months, albeit that some weeks have been awful and I've put on what I lost the previous week. But if I could lose 1-2kg this month and just keep on I'll be happy

Timwith2noses · 03/03/2023 08:53

2lb down since last weigh in. I think I’ve lost about 1.5 stone since start of Jan but I’m trying not to get consumed by numbers, I really want sustainable attitude and lifestyle change.

iamloading · 03/03/2023 16:44

@Timwith2noses that's amazing!! Well done you!

Really slow loss for me.
started Jan the 23rd, starting weight 11.6 st.
weigh in today 11 st
Target was 9 st by the summer, but doesn’t sound achievable with such slow progress

nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart · 04/03/2023 13:01

I weighed myself this morning and I've lost a stone since starting on 2nd January! So pleased and it's been relatively easy so far.

Starting weight: 13 st 4
Current weight: 12 st 4
Goal weight: 11 st

TheLostArt · 04/03/2023 19:22

Super slow here, grinding on a pound/half a pound a week. Still no sugar which makes the slow progress feel very unfair! But soldiering on. Summer holiday booked and for once I don't want to be hiding in all the photos...

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 04/03/2023 21:54

@TheLostArt it's hard isn't it. I think my weight loss per week is about 200g, so you're doing better than me

TheLostArt · 04/03/2023 22:29

Let's keep plodding together! Very much hoping that very slow loss = sustainable weight. I've had huge success with fasting in the past (actual cheekbones) but as soon as I stopped I ballooned. Lockdown sourdough didn't help!

Thought I'd replied to @Rainsdropskeepfalling - not a regular poster!

PomRuns · 06/03/2023 06:53

Morning all.

I started again after a 2 month delay.

goal loss: 35lb
week 1: 3.5lb loss

I quite like the symmetry in that (although I’d have preferred to have lost more of course).

LavenderfortheBees · 06/03/2023 07:55

Morning - here for the Monday weigh in!

Loss this week of 2lb takes me to 1st loss since I started recording on 23 Jan so likely 1.5st overall as I started the regime on 2 Jan.

Goal of between 9-10st so now 1.5st from top of goal and 1st 4lb from a healthy BMI. Aiming to achieve by mid May which should be doable on current progress.

Going to be a challenge this week as I need to bake on Tuesday for an event on Wednesday then again for Sunday. Will need to carefully plan a small deficit the other days to manage the excess.
