Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Urgh, feel so bloated today, the day before my weigh-in and progress photo day (naturally!).

Oh well, it is what it is.

@RicciardoPerez Thank you! I see we are tracking around the same amount of weight loss. :) I hope we can both keep the momentum up!

Well done everyone

SW unknown
23/01 - 12st 7lb
CW - 12st 1lb

Had a whoosh of 5lb this week which tracks as last week only lost 1lb but was post drinking and at the start of my period both causing water retention.

Doing well in general. Went for a decent walk yesterday as well as doing my workout
Aiming to get outside more now the weather is improving.

pisspants · 06/02/2023 08:46

Very happy to have lost another pound this week. Am keeping that as my aim as a slow steady weight loss hopefully keeps it sustainable and I'm not having to alter my eating habits too much but less mindless snacking and am doing more exercise.

No loss for me this week sadly but kind of expected as went for afternoon tea yesterday. Fingers crossed for a loss next week.

I'm 9 lbs down since starting which I'm pretty happy with, although I haven't eaten much the last couple of days due to not feeling great.

Well done all. I ran again today but it was so cold and I struggled tbh, so going to repeat today’s run on Weds.

have just had dinner, slow cooker honey and garlic chicken with brioche roll, rice and crunchy coleslaw. Resisted the addition of mozzarella sticks that the kids have polished off. Lunch was a quorn chicken and salad sandwich. I’m slacking on the ‘drink more water front’ so must try to improve that this week!

Shodan · 07/02/2023 08:49

Week...what is it, 5?

SW: 13st 3lb

CW: 12st 8lb.

GW: 11st 7lb (ish)

Only a pound this week, but am happy to have lost any tbh, due to a rather carb-heavy week.

I've noticed I'm getting a bit slacker in my diet, so need to address that.

Pikachu2015 · 08/02/2023 07:18

Hi all- a little late to this but can I join you please? This thread inspired me to put new batteries into the scales. Just stepped on and just over 2.5 stone to lose. Been increasing exercise over Jan, now trying to eat better and hoping this will help hold me accountable

SW 12st 7
GW 10st

A couple of balls to go to (including a 20 Yr uni reunion) so trying to stay strong!

Aiming for 16:8 again, prob reduce calories slowly- am rubbish and likely to relapse if I try to go hard-core from the start!

Fidgetbottom · 08/02/2023 08:42

@Pikachu2015 Welcome! I hope you find this thread useful for both motivation and accountability! We are all here struggling together :)

It is not even 9am and I am already snacking on monster munch… I guess today is going to be a tough one for me.

Timwith2noses · 08/02/2023 12:11

A good week so far, just having lunch - quick sandwich today and plan for dinner is a salmon pasta recipe later on. Have promised the youngest child a McDonald’s before swimming lessons but honestly, I can resist that myself - they’re never as nice as you think they’ll be!

re ran my week 5 day 3 run today, and think I’ll do it again on Friday too, I wasn’t great but I also have the start of a cold which probably isn’t helping.

iamloading · 09/02/2023 09:45

Hi ladies,
I've lost the plot a bit over the last couple of weeks, but amazingly have only put 1kg on thankfully.
So I'm still 5kg down overall and back on it from today.
I really struggle with socialising and not just thinking sod it when with others...

OP posts:
Whydidimarryhim · 09/02/2023 10:36

Yes I’ve lost the plot too - not weighed myself but fell off the plan - not totally as I’ve been mindful at times - part of my social life is going out for meals - it’s hard to stay on track but I have only had fish and chips once since Xmas when normally it would be weekly. That’s progress plus I’m pre diabetic so need to get a grip.
Im still here so haven’t thrown in the towel yet.

EatYourVegetables · 09/02/2023 15:47

Can I also join please? I’m thinking in kg of that’s allowed.

SW 79kg
GW 63kg

Trying IF (skip breakfast, should be easy), no sweets, lower alcohol intake (difficult one, I love my glass of red in the evening), lower carbs dinners, smaller portions, weight lifting (I enjoy it but it is hard to maintain regular schedule because of work + kids + I constantly have a cold)…

Hoping to find inspiration and accountability on this thread.

Pigeonpair1 · 09/02/2023 16:55

Hello all

Please can I join? I have more or less 2 1/2 stone to loose. I am doing the Michael Moseley 8 Week Blood Sugar diet. Basically 800 calories per day for 8 weeks. Zero sugar, almost zero carbs. Mid-way through week 5 and need some encouragement and camaraderie!! I may continue for 12 weeks to try and reach my goal.

SW 13st 5lb
CW 12st 2lb
GW 11st

Loss so far - 1st 3lb

nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart · 09/02/2023 23:48

Not too bad a day today, although I did have a chocolate biscuit, despite trying to stay away from sugar!

Breakfast: porridge with blueberries, coffee with milk
Lunch: hm beef rogan josh with a little basmati rice
Tea: a ryvita with brie, a satsuma, a chocolate biscuit, coffee with milk

Fidgetbottom · 10/02/2023 00:00

Today has been a struggle, made some really bad food choices but still scrapped a calorie deficit…. Just.

I have always had incredibly disproportionate flabbiness in my arms compared to the rest of me. Whilst I notice that I feel so much slimmer and my clothes are fitting better, I actually feel bigger and more self conscious, because my arms haven’t shrunk at all and in fact look even bigger in comparison to my waist now etc.

If my arms are on display, I just lose any semblance of confidence. I have to have them covered at all times and then my arms just feel so tight and squeeze in sleeves whilst the garment fits the rest of my upper body really comfortably.

I really hope they shrink this time, I have built lots of muscle in my arms plenty of times in the past but it has never helped because no matter how much muscle I put on my arms I have never lost fat from them to see the muscle underneath.

I just assume it is the last place I lose fat from and I have never quite lost enough in previous diets.

Sorry just venting.

Timwith2noses · 10/02/2023 07:14

1.5lb off this week for me, not been my best week food wise, I’ve seemed to feel quite hungry! Going for a quick run before work this morning and we are out for a meal tonight so will probably have some wine later. I’m going to try and have a really good food choice day and then have whatever I fancy for dinner.

TheLostArt · 10/02/2023 09:31

SW 12.5
CW 11.9.5
GW 10.6

Just three quarters of a pound off for me but I did have a lovely weekend at a friend's house which included a lot of walking but also a takeaway, brunch and wine. I didn't want to be the person saying no to everything like a martyr although I tried not to over eat and still stayed off the sugar.

I know the slow and steady way is the way for me (although hugely admiring of the Micheal Mosley folk out there!) but it does make it a slog - February just feels so endless! A time to hunker down with comfort food not indulge in an apple. I am doing well not eating sugar but caved in last night and had wine despite my no drinking at home in the week rule.

I've lost 10 pounds overall but I would like to have dropped a stone now I am 5.5 weeks in. I will be in a situation which means having my photograph taken in a month and would really like to be near 11 stone by then! The dream would be to be on the other side of it.
